London is the most wonderful city in the world, in my opinion. I absolutely LOVE going there! In my epxerience, most Londoners are very nice and happy to be helpful, in spite of what some of the posts here might indicate. There is so much to do and see, and it's a history lover's dream. The Day Card is the best deal on transportation if you plan on moving around a lot in one day. Mind the gap! :-)
1 its not a subway.. it the Tube.. 2 they are not Coaches there Carriages and 3 ALL Americans come here and make big scenes when looking at the Network Map and are so loud being all confused ... they can stop there as they show america to be as thick as they are very thick..
@toppackage I guess you never ever get confused or feel the least bit disoriented when you go someplace you've never been or experience something new for the first time? I'm American, and I've been to London and used your SUBWAY SYSTEM on mulitple occasions and I NEVER stood in front of the map and made any sort of loud scene. Why are you so rude? Our thick-headed tourist dollars bring a lot of revenue to your country.
true. it may not seem like a big deal, but it's a precious lesson! watching a lot of british tv and prime suspect taught me to pronounce it correct, but i swear...sometimes i have the urges to say "lie-chester" square. it's not even how it's spelled, but i have to control my tongue often. lol.
Hahahaha that is seriously like the stupidest thing ive ever heard. First off, do you really have to ask that question? i mean, london is one of the most ethnically diverse cities in the world. and second of all i just wanted to point out that an african american is a person of color who's a US citizen, and thats why its called african AMERICAN.
but sure, 10.7% of people living in london are black. so yes, there are a "few". ...haha
@pinkextemporization I think what this person is asking is if any Americans of African descent have moved to London from the U.S., and are living there currently?... This person may not know that London is so ethnically diverse, if they've never been there. And you all call US thick....
Any European metro is convenient and useful to Americans who have never experienced decent public transport. But rest assured, compared to metros elsewhere in Europe (Paris, Barcelona, even Budapest) London's is subpar. I've never seen a system that is so often broken down or closed for repair.
please mind the gap.

ain't it great to see something on video and say that you were there? :)
i've been to England a couple times, and i can totally relate to the lady walking around "Anyone needing day cards?"
I could almost spend the day just riding the Tube without even coming up for air above ground! haha

LOL. This is the most misleading image of the London Underground ever.

Actually, I disagree. Admittedly I've not used it during rush hour, but every time I've been on it, it's been amazingly convenient and useful.
