But it's happened twice in Macross Frontier, the president called Ranka "ranka-kun" twice when talking to her. Sooo, who knows, really. But wait, angels are genderless, aren't they? Maybe that's refering to that fact, since Dokuro-chan is an angel, just appears to be female. I haven't seen this anime though, it may be different.
