I loved you're screaming in the beginning, it rocked. You're singing in the chorus could have been better, but I think over dubbed you're vocals a bit much because some of you're backups sound flat. I really like what you're doing though.

Opening scream is sick, but then slighly overdone. Mix a little more singing in there. Nobody likes to hear a constant over-done scream the entire song. Mix it up

Good attempt at the 'modern style' but as you can see vvvvvvvvvvvv tidy it up like that dude from killswitch engage, the black guy and sing normally a bit. the heavy heavy screaming is good for songs when you don't have such awesome guitar in the background but for this it just covers the skill of the guitar playing. OK you have a good voice...But when you start singing all you're doing is imitating the guitar melody which I personally don't like. You have good screaming vocals and okay clean, the problem though is you layer multiple vocal parts poorly. If they were synced better the vocals would sounds amazing.
ur definitely right. however this song as i explain in the info was the very first song ive ever self recorded, and mixed. so you can tell it was done by a newbie lol. but try to check out some of my bands material, or the other killrbuckeye song "the rising". ive also self mixed those and i think the layering came out way better.
Since you labeled it as Rough Draft why don't you do a better version of it? It would be so badass if you could perfect your vocal syncing. Don't just redo everything and throw it together in one try, spend time working on it. Show professionalism. You have the skill, now don't be lazy with it.
first of all, you need to re read what i just told you. i just said that this was my first ever vocal recording, first ever vocal mixing, first ever vocal mastering. as rough draft as this sounds.. it still took me days to put this together since i was brand new at this. 2ndly, i had nothing but the worst equipment ever at this time. so mixing mastering and recording was extremely hard with shit equipment.
@supitsdan and lastly... i did label this as rough draft because at the time i really did plan on finalizing it after ive updated my methods and equipment. however my band has taken off, we are working on a full length and quality album, and not to mention im doing vocals for Kevin Talleys new band (Chimairas drummer). therefore ive moved on from the vocal cover thing and only work on my original music. listen to the rough cuts on my bands myspace. there is your "professional mixing."

This was actually really good, the only thing I say is that the singing itself could use a lil work. If you could retry the chorus and do a lil more in synch with the music, and try to ttune it a lil closer into the song it would song awesome.

@matel1836 umm to be honest with you i think the higher vocals are better and clean vocals are good but its always nice to have some bite when it comes to modern metal but if you cant do decent singing vocals like atleast the old lead singer for scar symmetry or All That Remains then your not a vocalist your a back up vocal in my book. you have to have good range. but meh thats my liking i liked your put on the vocals and it sounds nice and all but its always nice to have some nice high screams

I think the vocals sound really good :) I like the little hint of cradle of filth creeping in when theres little high screams in the background :)
Not to sure about the singing but the screaming was great.
For the singing part i think you over did it with the whole layering vocals thing... Maybe the harmonies version just turn thevolume down on it a bit? Otherwise pretty awesome mate :)

You have good screaming vocals and okay clean, the problem though is you layer multiple vocal parts poorly. If they were synced better the vocals would sounds amazing.

ur definitely right. however this song as i explain in the info was the very first song ive ever self recorded, and mixed. so you can tell it was done by a newbie lol. but try to check out some of my bands material, or the other killrbuckeye song "the rising". ive also self mixed those and i think the layering came out way better.

Since you labeled it as Rough Draft why don't you do a better version of it? It would be so badass if you could perfect your vocal syncing. Don't just redo everything and throw it together in one try, spend time working on it. Show professionalism. You have the skill, now don't be lazy with it.

first of all, you need to re read what i just told you. i just said that this was my first ever vocal recording, first ever vocal mixing, first ever vocal mastering. as rough draft as this sounds.. it still took me days to put this together since i was brand new at this. 2ndly, i had nothing but the worst equipment ever at this time. so mixing mastering and recording was extremely hard with shit equipment.

@supitsdan and lastly... i did label this as rough draft because at the time i really did plan on finalizing it after ive updated my methods and equipment. however my band has taken off, we are working on a full length and quality album, and not to mention im doing vocals for Kevin Talleys new band (Chimairas drummer). therefore ive moved on from the vocal cover thing and only work on my original music. listen to the rough cuts on my bands myspace. there is your "professional mixing."

if you took this song and split it into two tracks, use one for your scream and the other for a melodic tone to give it an as i lay dying-esque touch, I think it would improve this alot, but good work on your scream, im a screamer myself, lol.
