Yes, out of sight, out of mind. It's a wonder the RSPCA, and Bob Brown for instance, considering how concerned he and his Greens are about the environment, doesn't step in to help alleviate the cruelty.
That's why we run cattle in Australia, they will get fat next to a horse starving to death. A horses eats grass only, as you can see we don't have much Native Grasses so they die surrounded by food they are unable to eat. Do THEM a favour or close your eyes when it gets dry...
There are 400,000 of these things... I'd say they are doing fine. The theme of the video seems to be that they were better off enslaved than free??
In terms of their long term survival - Australia is 0-30 against invasive species (30 invasive species, 0 successfully exterminated) - they'll be fine. Did you know that there are a million feral camels in Australia.
The joke of a human being that posted this video needs to realise the impact that feral animals have in Australia. I guess if you take the view that feral animals should be allowed to stay then maybe you should start a group that is for the conservation and preservation of cane toads, foxes, wild cats and dogs, pigs, indian mynas, starlings, and rats. Just because they're horses doesn't mean that they should be protected. They should killed humanely, just like every other feral species.

@scottieduncan1 you forgot to mention the feral bogan rednecks of the human species.....they do the as much damage, if not more, not only to the environment but to others as well....
ps just because the 'human that posted this video' doen not share your opinion does not make him a 'joke'. You come across like the species I just mentioned...
i'm trying 2 save the brumbies from slaughter so plezz 'like' my page on facebook called save the brumbies and stop the slaughter if i can get 500 'likes' i will take it 2 the government and maybe just maybe thay will do some thin about it so plezz help our willd horses stay willd.
i have a box, [ ], its where all my cares go.. i like to call it a care box... my care for these horses belongs in that box of cares, because saving horses is really important and its something i just care about................................................ nup
Here is the truth to all this killing of all wild horses, doesn't matter what country these horses are in. Truth is all those rich bastered want the lands for devilment, congress is the ones that will do us all in just like the horses! I pray they and there families choke on all that money they made from those horses and the backs of us!
I don't think culling is necessarily the answer, but it is definitely kinder to humanely euthanise the animals than leave them to starve or succumb to disease or injury Better yet, geld all male horses and let them breed out over the course of 1 generation.
hey just wondering if i can share this on a group on facebook called HOOFS2010 stands for Help Our Old Friends Survive a group to stop the culling of australias heritage horse
fantastic video by the way i can really see where your coming from
@shellosaurus i got a group called HNBTDWHT2010, has nothing better to do with his time 2010, and there is one that i am interested in called TIAJ2010, this is a joke 2010, HRNRA2010 horses are not real animals 2010.
Fantastic video by the way you are able to tell that this person has never lived on a country property in their life, and you really cant see where the video is coming from
Omg i cried watching this.. I completely agree. I find this completly unfair for what we have done to our beautiful wild horses. There numbers may be a little out of control.. But i would say we are more dangerous and hazardous to the enviornment then them. They need help, and most people dont see who they really are! We need to help these goregous creatures before its too late. SAVE AUSTRALIA'S WILD BRUMBY!!
However, the various interest groups who are working towards a better deal for Brumbies would receive far more support from members of the wider community who have an interest in equine welfare if they would shut down their breeding programs, geld their stallions, and just STOP BREEDING MORE OF THEM.
@QuestEquineWelfare Agree fully, would love to stop most so called breeders, there are far too many wasted horses in Australia, and we are breeding more. Why. Just look at the Brumbies!
The murderous Australian goverment hires halfwits with guns to kill thousands of our heritage horses every year..I say we kull the greedy fat cats in our society..I have a brumby and he is the sweetest boy and smart too...
Humans are arrogant and nowhere near as intelligent as we think...you just have to look at what we have done to the environment and other living things...I am not proud to be one.
@becstar68 Human are gluttons, but really, would you rather be anything else. sleeping in your warm bed, eating three meals a day, buying luxury items... what more can you possibly want? Humans are extremely intelligent compared to other life on this planet, and it would foolish to say otherwise. On the topic, horses are not native, they compete with native animals, they damage the native habitat. If you were one to save the environment, you should look at what these horses are doing today...
@Westernforce3 Please don't presume to know anything about me or what I do. Humans have done far more damage to the environment than any animals have. I agree, humans may be intelligent but we are not very 'smart' and very, very selfish.....
We are a young species, and the problem at the moment is the ignorance. Not the level of intelligence nor our arrogance. We start to realize that we are as vulnerable as any other organism, and when panic starts, so does terror.
