  • mfw the uploader has 4 parts. Part 1, 2, 4, and 5. wtf ef uuuuuu.

  • and calif has overcrowded prisons? this is one reason! non violent offenders!

  • press 3 over and over again

  • Anyone know what the guy in the audience says at 6:48?

  • Yep. He is clearly in bad shape in 'Home for the Holidays.'

  • 6:10 what an intelligent mutherfucker.

  • hahah i love his face at 7:21

  • 6 people did not like this video.

And for no discernable reason, a Justin Beiber reference.

  • what year is this from?

  • @xmamiiciitax 2006

  • It's kind of scary how great of an actor this man is. Such a talented and charming human being, too.

  • Funny that James can't act for crap.

  • surprisingly that's my favorite scene in chaplin.

  • why didn't he win the oscar for Chaplin?

  • @80sfanfreak There was some pretty tough competition that year. Al Pacino won the oscar for Scent of a Woman, but Denzel Washington was also a favourite for Malcolm X. I can't say for sure who deserved to win, since these three performances were all brilliant.

  • @Thorne42 You're right, i forgot about the other nominees. All gentlmen gave great performances.

  • Figgis's "One Night Stand" is more than worth seeing, and Downey is devastating in it.

  • I didn't really know anything about Robert, and I've just been looking at his interviews on Youtube because I've taken a liking to a lot of his roles. He's inspired me, just through his movies, and after watching parts of this, he now inspires me as a person. He truly is a great man, I hope someday I'll be able to meet him and learn from him first hand.

  • he pulled out his cigarette cause he's getting stressed out.

  • The interviewer seems snobby unlike robert downey jr who really seems genuinely nice as another commenter said.

  • Thats bill hicks at 0:25

    he's ALIVE

  • @lisouspacecakes where? u mean that guy in the shades?

  • @Paremco yeah....

  • hes very well spoken for a high school drop out. i wonder if he ever went back to school?

  • @mmcharacter1 really smart people dn't need institutional education. Robert, Depp, Russell Brand

  • iron man kicks ass

  • Thank God for people like this man; otherwise, we'd have no real actors of true genius in this generation.

  • one of the best, ever. every role, every film, always reminds me of the importance of the art of acting.

  • hesssssssss so cute

  • Somebody can suggest me how to see with italian subtitles? thank you

  • Such an amazing person! i have such respect for him, one of the best actors of are time! Good for your Robert, good for you!

  • Perfect, perfect, perfect, perfect, perfect. The smile, the gestures, the look, the way to answer without hesitating, that natural, terrible and tireless sense of humor, PER-FEC-TO. Only one fault I find this man: it is not mine ... should put an immediate solution. Cris

  • He's really tearse about the drug stuff. I dont blame him.

  • I enjoyed this

  • I know exactly what he means about humor coming in handy in a prison situation. My dad works in a prison, and I don't think he could get through his day without using his sense of humor to keep things calm and cool between his coworkers and the inmates. Humor is perhaps the best anti-violence and anti-depression tool you can use in a prison.

I love RDJ, what an amazing man! So cute, sexy and funny too---his wife is a very, very lucky woman!

  • VERY talented man!

  • wheres part 3??

  • I love how honest he is. What else can be said? I think he knew that. He just went "okay, let's get this out of the way..."

  • he's pure amazingness ^^

  • I would love part 3 of this, but I can't find it anywhere!:(

  • what an actor, i love him

  • hes amazinG

  • I'm really amazed by this guy... He was really at the bottom, but just rose up. Respect, man!

  • Where's part three???

  • i think, utube (:@) has deleted that one!!

other interview "inside actor studio,RDJr PART 3 " by uploading someone else has DELETED,too!!

    GEEZ! WTF !

  • Oh dear :/ How evil!!

  • That set up for the black-tar heroin bit is really amazing.

  • anyone who knows about ballet here? how good was roberts chaplin ballet move?

  • I never knew his drug use went that deep... He has gone through a lot and for that I now admire him more.

  • So glad and relieved he's back. He looked like he was gonna go to the great beyond. lol sorry i can be inappropriately funny when nervous.

  • Yep, so glad he is doing so good these days.

  • Same here. :)

  • PART 3 WTF!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

  • Where s part 3??????

Could you please add part 3?? can t find it anywhere!!!

  • "There is nothing a person can't survive as long as they survive it...." mmm, wow

  • Less then zero is a great movie, so underrated

  • HE IS THE ABSOLUTE INSPIRATION

U only has to listen to him .. I mean REALLY LISTEN

than u can hear what he's been trough and what a great human being he is!

He is sooooo unique! Just love him

Hell this man saved my life last year!

    HE is AWESOME!!!!!!

  • Incredibly underestimated.

  • Ou est part 3???

  • I love how they let the actors smoke during the interview!

  • He looks a bit like Mike Patton at times.

  • RDJ looks a little like George Clooney.

  • NO NO NO NO

  • @momina103

    lol. *shrug*

  • @Jiaal It's true, despite your "-4", I DO agree with you ^^

  • yap sometimes ...he has expressions like him

    rdj <3

  • You know, he's kind of showy...But you can see past that when you listen to his "jokes". That black humour is very telling...

    Interesting interview.

  • Do explain. I mean, I get the feeling I know EXACTLY what you are referring to, BUT I have the feeling you can put it better in words. :) (Just so you know, I'm not attacking you.)

  • I'm just saying that he tends to be very exuberant, tries hard to create a diversion away from himself...But when you come down to it, if you listen to his jokes, you can tell that there's a lot of pain and darkness inside of him and he's just trying to move on and keep his head up.

  • I know what you mean. :(

  • I guess it's because I am not a big fan of black humour, but I didn't find a lot of his joking funny, I found it kind of tragic. He's an interesting guy.

  • I find it insanely tragic too, but then I get all confused because he says it with this kind of ironic smile on his face, so I fee like he wants me to smile, but it's all sad... I kinda wish he made it sad since the beginning so that then I wouldn't be confused and could get over it lol but I know he would not want to look self-pityingly. Actually, I think he'd hate it lol

  • I know these kinds of jokes so well because my father had such a... shitty childhood, but when he tells about it, you just have to laugh because it seems so unreal. And he's always laughing himself. He says it's the only way to get over it. I think it's pretty much the same here.

  • I was wondering whether you can turn on embedding for this video? I am trying to save this video just in case it gets taken down, and I can't get it to work if the embedding is disabled.

  • I apologize, but YouTube has turned off the embedding for this video by their request. There's nothing I can do. Sorry.

  • Oh! Thank you anyway! :)

  • @foxestacado I don't know if you got a response that helped with saving a video off of YouTube like the Actors Studio interview of Robert Downey Jr. The easiest free way is to use FireFox 3.x (the beta 4 won't work with this method). On FireFox, get an add-on called Download Helper, which downloads what's playing on FireFox. Download the free Format Factory, which will convert the flv format into win media, quicktime, etc.

  • @foxestacado Use keepvid . com

  • @foxestacado keepvid.com

  • @foxestacado savetube.com...works amazing

  • I am so glad that Robert survived what he did. It is tragic when people don't.

He has such an amazing way of telling others what he went through..

  • @xXLazarus23Xx was he a heroin addict or sth ?

  • @Hrko1992 it was coke, heroin, valium and likely crack

  • He seems like such a genuine human being. So honest and eloquent.

  • @iEatHAPPYPEOPLE Exactly, I see almost all of these actors speaking in interviews and they seem fake, like they're playing another role. RDJ, on the other hand really is a free, open man.

  • stress release perhaps?

  • he doesnt look pissed at all.

  • look too your right..its there
