  • What a wild mix...! Thank you for posting!

  • hey! where did you get this? I thought I have seen all Pete related videos-i had no idea this existed. Very cool to see pete with pat and herbie.

  • Blues Version, Great Singer !!

  • I am not sure what's more amazing about this vídeo. If it is too see Pete Townsend accompanied by the best jazz band you can find out there, or if it is to realize that the man is an incredibly good blues singer.

  • Oh my God! Sublime! I never thought Pete Townshend can sing so high class. Pete is the Greatest Rock-n-roll man in the world. Performance of great feeling and sincerity. A real ARTIST! Long life to Pete Townshend!

  • On voit que ce n'est pas leur style à part Townsend bien sur!!!

  • WTF Pete? no solo for Pat?

  • Wow, didn't know THAT ever happened!

  • Drugs are GREAT !

  • Just a Fricking Kick Ass Song played by some great musicians. Petes vocals are right on the spot. Sounds more blues than jazz.

  • A bit different than Nora Jones and Jeff Beck's version.. Both are awesome! LOVE Pete and Pat, both GREAT musicians!

  • Wow, I've never heard Pat doing blues before...this is great. And with Townshend?!? How awesome is this? Great find, poster.

  • Pete, Pat and Herbie... what more can you ask for?

  • This is one of the best blues songs ever written and Pete and Pat do it justice. I'm diggin' on this.

  • they ain´t fucking playing out there....

    this is serious shit....

  • Brilliant mix of muso's and perfect song to do, Great Stuff, Good Old Pete Townshend sounding so great and not actually having to ablib the guitar to keep the show together but playing to a rehearsed band.

  • Thanks for the post. Woulda been nice if the director knew to tell the cameraman who was taking the guitar solo - LOL! Great performance by all musicians (although a jazz purist might be a put off a bit).

  • pete townshend man, oh hot damn.

  • pat metheny poteva usare un fustino di dixan: forse il suono era mejo.

  • Donald 'Duck' Dunn on bass..

  • @hypno59 It's not Donald Dunn on bass, but the great Bernie Holland from Bishops Cleeve, Cheltenham He played with the Fanatics among others - check him out

  • @justinianjazz Yeah, weridly enough the info under the video says it is DAVE Holland, the legendary british jazz bassist, but a quick pause @ 5:31 reveals it to be Duck. Trust me here, it's him.

  • That was an interesting night of music me thinks..

  • Damn...Pete's voice sounds fucking awesome! He is such a performer and always strong on stage...he puts everything into it and I love that. The whole band sounds pretty good...drums and keys were great. I'd say there was a bit too much going on at times behind him though but overall I really enjoyed it. It looked like Metheny really was too...He probably looks at Pete as a God of sorts

  • more like pete looks at metheny as a god...

  • geeze... jack was taking no prisoners back there.

  • As is so often in the case with these dream line-ups, the anticipation exceeds the end result.

  • @plangentmusic Actually, I think this works far, far better then it has any right to... but different strokes and all that. ;)

  • What this? Pat Metheny Playing his old Gibson in an a distorsion mode like the synclavier? AMAZING! i was near to died when i saw this.

    Thanks!

  • Holyee! awesome performance, what a smoking line-up!

    thanks so much for posting!

    wordofgord

  • Eek - what gizmatron is making Pat's Gibbo sound like shite?

  • ye - ouch!

  • @fendweller

sounds like some digital crap, maybe Roland VG-8.

  • Sing it Pete!

    excellent
