Omega was not the only watch worn on the moon. In 1971 David Scott's Speedmaster lost its plexiglass crystal so he wore a Waltham. This was during Apollo 15. Just saying.....
@atcpd111 And also another astronaut snuck another watch on the moon as well... doesn't really matter to me either way. Its what it says on the back of the watch.
SENGVIN - IF YOU READ MY ORIGINAL POST YOU WILL HAVE SEEN THAT I DID OWN ONE YOU IDIOT. ISN'T IT JUST TYPICAL THAT SOMEONE WHO SPENDS A FORTUNE ON A WATCH DOES IT SO HE CAN SAY TO OTHERS, YOU CAN'T AFFORD IT. WELL I COULD AFFORD IT DICKHEAD. BET U DRIVE A BENTLEY AND LOOK DOWN ON OTHERS BECAUSE THEY CAN'T AFFORD ONE, YOU ARE ONE OF LIFES REAL SAD PRICKS.
@londonbill100 lol a watch is jewelry to alot of man, many times the only piece they cary. If watches arent your thing then why watch this video if you dont like them thats a better question.
@londonbill100 WHY NOT ? Let's just say your income is $2000 mo. someone else is $12000 mo. u are broke mofo with no money to spare, the other guy can buy whatever he wants and have a better life than your broke ass.Because that is what money are for. I'm sure not all of us are shoping in aldi or $ stores so stop beeing cheap ass monkey and do not comment on something u can't afford
@londonbill100 Because you can and you want to. If your happy with a Casio that's your choice but as an engineer I appreciate the mechanical movement as I also appreciate a far from perfect hand built car. A factory robot built Audi will never be as desirable as a hand built 60's Aston but its a heap more reliable just as your Casio keeps better time than the Omega. Imperfection is one of it's idiosyncrasies. By the way I also own a robot built Audi and love it but would love the Aston more.
@londonbill100 Very typical time gain for a mechnical watch, and generally considered quite acceptable for a mechanical watch too. If accuracy and reliability are your main concern, stick with your quartz.
Bought the same with a steel bracelet just before the big price increase of this year. Everybody loves this watch of course... And in my opinion, for a long time it was undervalued in terms of price. It's one of the few watches that still uses a mechanical chronograph movement instead of an automatic.
The true moonwatch is the 3570 with the hesalite. Otherwise it aint a Moonwatch, period. Why pay over $500 extra for a different crystal, just pay less and get the real deal.
Omega actually had to change the text on the casebacks a few years ago because it turned out that the Speedmaster isn't the only watch ever worn on the moon.
You finally succummed to the gravitational pull of the speedy pro hey, it was inevitable :) I've been waiting ages for you to show this one. Do you still prefer your Schumacher? I must admit, that one is very very nice.
how does the accuracy of a manual wind compare to a self winding movement? ie... how much deviations does this speedmaster get say per day(ave) and the total deviation for 15 days?
@mogando25 The great thing about the 8500 and 8501 co-axials is the silicon hairspring; the wear is so negligible on the parts that it only needs servicing every 8-10 years so it will be even more reliable than previous Co-axial models. Kudos to George Daniel for the invention.
londonbill100 you have no soul why are you even looking at watch videos

Why pay £3000 for a watch that can't keep time as well as a cheap watch from the market.
Waste of money.

It's a piece of shit watch.
Mine was gaining 5 seconds a day.
I had a £10 Casio that kept better time.
I took it back for a full refund

@londonbill100 5 seconds a day is better than most chronometers, so its not bad for one thats not rated. In particular a manual wind! :-)

They should do a Club Sandwich with a sapphire covering over the tachy bezel as well- they always end up so sorry looking.

Would you consider buying the Omega De Ville Co-axial? Sure the side "viewing crystals" don't really do anything ... but it seems like a nice watch.
