well this game is good.. the only problem is theres no story mode or that mode like in FPD (dreamcast) where you can wrestle through all of the leagues and unlock extra wrestlers.. that mode was called Victory Road ..
FPR was a flop compared to the other versions (specifically, the GBA versions). It lacks the challenge and the tough CPU of the others. Mostly because of Ukemi and an exclusively timing-based fighting system. I don't mind the tangled menus or the ringtone music, but this AI is unacceptable, especially for a puro game.
Sadly this game didn't come to Europe. Ah well, luckely it's possible to grab it on the internet. And people whonder why people make pirate copies of games. >_>
Well, it came out in November 2007 here in the US, so if you live in the States just go to your local video game retail store(s) and look for it. It's only about $19 brand new. If you can't find it in stores, well you can always hit up eBay, they have some listed there as well.
In my opinion, I definitely say this. I thought SvsR08 was pretty crappy, though I haven't been a huge fan of the series for a while and prefer a more realistic wrestling game.
As for TNA iMPACT, well, I can't see anything good about it other than it has pretty graphics. Aside from that it's being developed by the same team that created the Backyard Wrestling games, whom Midway bought out, and it's being developed by Midway. That's not a good combination at all for a wrestling game, it's probably end up somewhere between BYW and Mortal Kombat styled gameplay.
It all depends on what you like best. Fire Pro has a more realistic feel, as far as Japanese Strong Style go, to it than the most other wrestling games and I like that about it. It has 327 default wrestlers in the game, and on top of that you can create an additional 500 with Edit mode (aka CAW) bringing the total up to 827.
Aside from that you can also create referees, rings, logos, titles/belts, federations, factions, and you can edit ONE of the four attires of every default wrestler in the game. Sadly you can't edit anything else on the defaults but if you really need/want to change a default wrestler's moves there are plenty of spaces to spare in Edit mode.
The AI is great as well, and it goes so in depth that you can literally program every Edit you make to behave differently in the ring. It has upward of 1,000 moves to select from as well.
Fire Pro Wrestling Returns has gameplay and customization in spades.
Nope, everything is still the same. The only difference that I've heard so far is that they changed the button commands for confirming/cancelling in the menus.
so its liek season mode it goes on for about a year is it as fun as the wwe gm mode or alot more funner also can u put your creat a wrestler in the gm mode for this??
Sadly, no. You can't use Edits in Match Maker, which kind of sucks. But you still have the 327 preset wrestlers to work with, so that kind of makes up for it. If it were a smaller roster, like the size of most American wrestling games, it wouldn't work out that well.

You can't. Unfortunately created wrestlers only get one costume.

The King of Collusseum games (also from Spike, the same developer as Fire Pro) are also pretty awesome

So, all the 500 edit slots and everything is still there, nothing removed or dumbed down for the US version?
