@1403MN You can get them in nickel I think, if you go to magnum researches site they plate them in anything, you can even get them done in Gold, yes real gold. I had mine in the brushed chrome so no shine, was a breeze to clean, not that I ever shot more than 50 rounds in a day out of it lol. Its a fun gun, gets old fast then on to something else, not piratical at all for anything, even hiking in bear country there's other guns that I would rather have. Just a range toy really.

@plumberjoe80 its like comparing apples an oranges, ones a pistol cartridge and ones a rifle cartridge, 50 ae moves slower but the bullet weight is 2 times that of a 7.62x39, believe it or not energy on target is pretty similar, 7.62 makes up for this by moving way faster and is therefore going to penetrate better but the slow moving ae round will have more knock down power

what really makes this a "good" gun? i mean i do love it! it is totally bad ass, .50 cal hollow points are insane for a pistol. is it loud, yes, is it awesome, yes, is it bad ass, yes, is it powerfull, yes. but what really makes a gun good is whether or not its reliable. .50 cal hollow points will definitly bring down someone.. haha but i wouldnt say its all that tactical. boondock saints used an m9 silenced and decided it would be better to use dual deagles.. crazy!
@TMHonfire102 I got the load data directly off Hodgdon's web site. They do not lie about those sort of things. If they did people could be seriously injured. The .460 S&W magnum can only be pushed to just over 2300 fps. The 50 AE is a bad ass round. But it is not a speed demon. The .45ACP runs between 650 and 1100 fps. So the 50 AE screams compared to the 45ACP.
My first Desert Eagle was that finish. It looks awesome but it scratches very easily and shows every single fingerprint and smudge like crazy. It started looking like crap after a few hundred rounds so I sold it and picked up the same model except in brushed chrome.

I would love to have mine redone in titanium carbide nitride but I'm not even sure if that is possible. I look forward to seeing yours after the refinish.

I was like "just shoot it already". Anyways, you are good. You handle the recoil well. I dont know about accuracy but i can tell you that for what i've seen (at least on youtube) you may be one of the best desert eagle shooters.

You really like how it shines don't you... lol. Anyway, do your arms get sore firing that monster? Or have you not fired off enough rounds at one time for that to happen? I've only fired 9mm and and .40 and after 30-40 minutes of shooting my hand starts to cramp up a bit, I suspect it would be worse with a gun you cant really fire limp armed.

@plumberjoe80 its like comparing apples an oranges, ones a pistol cartridge and ones a rifle cartridge, 50 ae moves slower but the bullet weight is 2 times that of a 7.62x39, believe it or not energy on target is pretty similar, 7.62 makes up for this by moving way faster and is therefore going to penetrate better but the slow moving ae round will have more knock down power

what really makes this a "good" gun? i mean i do love it! it is totally bad ass, .50 cal hollow points are insane for a pistol. is it loud, yes, is it awesome, yes, is it bad ass, yes, is it powerfull, yes. but what really makes a gun good is whether or not its reliable. .50 cal hollow points will definitly bring down someone.. haha but i wouldnt say its all that tactical. boondock saints used an m9 silenced and decided it would be better to use dual deagles.. crazy!

@TMHonfire102 I got the load data directly off Hodgdon's web site. They do not lie about those sort of things. If they did people could be seriously injured. The .460 S&W magnum can only be pushed to just over 2300 fps. The 50 AE is a bad ass round. But it is not a speed demon. The .45ACP runs between 650 and 1100 fps. So the 50 AE screams compared to the 45ACP.

My first Desert Eagle was that finish. It looks awesome but it scratches very easily and shows every single fingerprint and smudge like crazy. It started looking like crap after a few hundred rounds so I sold it and picked up the same model except in brushed chrome.
Is yours scratched all up yet?
