When the whole world support the Tibetan cause, i think the chinese student should question whether something is wrong with their government. I think before 1950's every country has it's own slavery or feudal problem. The chinese also go through the same problem, but that doesn't gave the permission to interfere in the internal matter of the tibetan people which led to 1.5 million death and still continues. The student should educate themselves about the truth.

I would like to pose a question regarding two previous comments that seem contradictory for those who seem anti-Tibetan independence:

Tibet prior to 1959 was not a slave society; there was indentured labour, but anyone who has a mortgage has much the same thing. There were also free farmers, skilled craftsmen, merchants, plenty of nomads, doctors, courts of law and so on - there is no excuse for calling Tibet a slave society. Not one Chinese historian published on the subject even reads Tibetan. It's sad to see people protesting at a university who don't know the basic value of consulting primary sources to determine facts.
