@ClaydenLee. In a way you and I agree. I know some of TonyVisconti's work' EX;T-rex Lennon, etc.He had it HARD. Lots of the people were high, and Tony had to work with that!!
"YES"" Low is my fave. BUT, why did R.C.A. let that dirty version go? It needed To be cleaned up! Like WHY? Did they not use Ken Scott? Mick Ronsen,so on. That's all!. Thank you four your opinion. It is VERY Valid Peace love....hippie3375 P.S. Hope we are still friends.
I recall hearing an amusing story about how Pete Townsend was getting ready to release the album "Breaking Glass", and was talking to Elvis Costello and told him about it, and Elvis asked him, aren't you worried about copyright infringement, with David Bowie, and Pete T. didn't have any idea what he was talking about.
Even today its a masterpiece, the socalled `videogame noises` are not dated as nowadays many ´popstars´ use them in remixed form in their music. And this music is classy wich can´t be said about the bubblegum level that most acts nowaday´s show on mtv.
By the way...there is virtually no artist now that does not use samples from the older acts that are often qualified as being a ´dinosaur´..So before any discogeek criticises David Bowie...
Side one "Speed of Life" – 2:46 "Breaking Glass" (Bowie, Dennis Davis, George Murray) – 1:52 "What in the World" – 2:23 "Sound and Vision" – 3:05 "Always Crashing in the Same Car" – 3:33 "Be My Wife" – 2:58 "A New Career in a New Town" – 2:53 Side two "Warszawa" (Bowie, Brian Eno) – 6:23 "Art Decade" – 3:46 "Weeping Wall" – 3:28 "Subterraneans" – 5:39
So cool I love the bowie eno trilogy low lodger and heroes my albums were nicked ages ago and I have only heard post 2001 teenage stuff for ten years. I forgot how much I love them.
P.S. Iam not AT all knocking Brian Eno at all. I think alot of him as a genius creater. I own Lots of his stuff,as I do Zappa,Warhole, etc. And I do agree with most all of you. If I could only pick one................................................It would be LOW. Thank all of you 4 your time. PEACE hippie3375
"Hay postnine99." At the time Low was realeased, I would figure at that tine span. That the master was recorded on a 2inch,maby1&1/2 inch reel. Probably a Tascom unit. NOW unless you can get someone interested in digging it up,wellI am sure it can be cleaned up. I mean look at all the work McCartney went through to deleate Phil Spector. Also my friend, They might even have a remastered CD of LOW. That I have kept up with? Keep in touch!hippie3375
postnine99; I was Not talking at all about the way David Bowie's LOW album sounds off You
Tube. I bought this record&cassette for my car. When it came out. It has a muffled sound, almost like the engineer used old style Dolby throughout the album. I really don't know if it can be cleaned up with a Pro Logic board.Maby a oscellater might do it. Thank you for your nice message hippie3375
Look I am a Real Pro. I a'm good. Don't buy what I say. But Eno was NEVER that great @ sound. Ideas YOU BET. Man can't you hear how dirty this LOW ALBUM sounds? That is not Pro Audio!!!!!! R.C.A. to boot. Someone should have caught this,BEFORE it was pressed!!!!!
Hate me all you want! SOUND IS A D- , Not even a C. hippie3375
David Bowie's catalog is probaly the most diverse ive ever listened to. Each album is something new this one happens to be electronic / experimental and he pulls it off amazingly. Ive herd everything from his many different albums Funk, Soul, Rock, Glam Rock, Pop Rock, Punk Rock and everthing inbetween. Needless to say he's one of the best out there. I think its safe to say there will never be another like him
tracks 1 - 7; one of the greatest albums of all time.
tracks 8 - 11; lol fuck this shit.
