Usually I would agree with you 100%. I generally hate when people criticize youtube videos. However, when someone is doing an instructional video that is different. If you are instructing or teaching others, you should have correct information and good technique. Both of which are lacking here.

nothing improves your jumps better than just doing the jumps themselves. what better way to work EVERY muscle you use during the jump than just doing the jump? people want some secret exercise to improve jumps, but the secret is THERE IS NO SECRET. just do the jumps, do a lot of them and do them often.
but you waste time because you build muscles by just DOING the jump. and that way you don't get just ONE at a time. you get them all. trust me, i know a thing or two about building muscles. i'm in my final semester of Physical Therapy school.
