@pokerinvite He is playing a "Led Zep C" but two frets up, muffling the high e and g strings. Yes he has his fingers on the the low E. A Zep C is 332010 compared to x32010. Maybe their is better terminology for it but I learned guitar on my own and always knew that as a Led Zep C. I think its called a C+G or something. Anyhow, yeah he is playing that chord 2 up. So 554x1x. Hope it helps.

@pokerinvite Ok now watching his other vids his guitar is tuned differently. I think the guitar was high to begin with and he tuned down the E to a D and that makes sense with him playing 553x1x - just a retuned A chord. Or it could be I'm as puzzled as you.... but that's my best guess.
