I actually agree with Archie. If Edith bought the tickets with their own money, then it is the Bunker's tickets, not the Jefferson's. I really dont know why Edith thinks it is not their ticket when she paid for it with THEIR money.

If they had both remembered the ticket, and she had given it to Louise and collected her $2, it wouldn't have been an issue at all, although it would have been nice of the Jeffersons to offer to share the winnings as thanks for the favor.

It's absolutely astonishing to me how many people don't get that the character of Archie was meant to be satirical. @smartypantsnyc You are right about Archie being written as a charicature of conservatives. They could make him funny. It has been said they didn't take the same approach with Maude. When she speaks on an issue, her views are taken with absolute seriousness. (The one exception is where his liberal ways are harpooned where says race has nothing to do with replacing Florida. Writers have said that, if Maude had been made more cartoonish, the show might be as funny as All in the Family.
