If it weren't for the Roma, there would be no music worth dancing to at most weddings and special occasions - from the Iberian Peninsula to the Balkans and Anatolia. I see an awful lot of hateful, racist comments here. There are good and bad in every lot. That's not what this music is about. Beautiful music,but I'm from Scotland and I had a lot of sympathy for gypsies before they came here and made life hell for us,thieves,stealing and hanging about in gangs and not working,very sad and it made me bitter,most gypsy parents teach their kids to steal and also pimp their kids,very sad.

@mosesmujahid -- It is an unfortunate situation. Let us hope that conditions improve for them. Criminal behavior exists in other parts of the society.  According to wikipedia, there were so many crimes committed in England in the 1700’s that more than 60,000 convicts, even for petty crimes, were transported to North America and another 165,000 to newly discovered Australia. The colonies used many of the convicts as cheap labor and then set them free. Life is complex.

@Ninzip Misschien wel, maar om heel eerlijk te zijn vind ik het Nederlands/het Vlaams gewoon niet mooi. Het Nederlands is dan wel mijn moedertaal, maar het komt mij zo boers over. Er zit geen "passie" in. Een Marco Borsato ofzo probeert de warmte te faken, maar ik geloof het niet. Als ik nu dit hoor, of de flamenco uit Andalucia, dan voelt het zoveel echter.

Misschien wordt er wel mooie muziek gemaakt, maar ik kan maar weinig nederlandstalige muziek waarderen (blof wél). Maar dat ben ik dan.

Πράγματι, αλλά στην Ανδαλουσία -όπου και πρωτακούστηκε το φλαμένκο- κόβονται οι καταλήξεις και γενικά αρκετές λέξεις παραποιούνται (ή και κακοποιούνται θα μπορούσε να πει κανείς). Δεν έχει σχέση με το Άλαμο ο τίτλος, αλλά με την αγάπη.

Ένα παράδειγμα του πώς αλλάζουν οι λέξεις στο φλαμένκο υπάρχει σε ένα τάνγκο της Ρεπόμπα, που λέει probe tica de mi mamá, θέλοντας να πει pobrecita de mi mamá.

@bemused321 i think that the cypsy tribes have some defirends in their words or speeking..deferend country gives deferend words...this singer is also cypsy..also hear the song for many cypsy singers (i am a singer too) and they all say the same words..in fact the frist singer that sing that song say another word there that gypsy friends of mine sed to me that is not a very good word..;) also because i am a singer and i work a lot with cypsys..i know that balamo is us.is how you call us :D
