  • Just a responce to a few comments, twists and braids and cornrows are not "black hair styles." Every culture through out history has use them asian, white and even us native americans.

  • I find that if you know how to DUTCH braid (reverse french) it makes the braid tighter so you wont get as much fly-aways! (FRENCH braids you take the hair over the other pieces DUTCH braids is taking the hair and crossing it under the other pieces) It also makes the braid pop!

  • twists and braids are the black womans signiture styles we been doin this for 1000s of years i went to school with alot of white kids and the look in shoch when they see it lolol i stareted doin thier hair like that and they loved it lol

  • @gieonna1 Honestly I've always for as long as I can remember LOVED "black hair" and wished I had it. Either relaxed or not. In my first dance class when I was 4, I was so in love with my friend Chavon's hair. We'd be dancing and my hair would get all sweaty, messy and gross. If her little curl in the front did come undone, all she had to do was wrap it around her finger and it was back in place. I was in awe. lol And I've always worn my hair in french braids / corn rows although it's not

  • @gieonna1 "typical" I suppose for someone with my skintone lol

  • your hair looks great and your makeup is GORGEOUS!

    love you

  • Wow! I need to try that. Your bang poofs are always so perfect, how do you hold it in place? With clips? bobby pins? elastic? If you could do a quick tutorial that would be awesome too :)!!

  • Yeah, I know.

  • Comment removed

  • Wow! now I'm sure I can do this......... I think you just became my new best friend :)

  • Love that. Thanks for posting!

  • big ups and 5 stars for cheater method!

  • can you show us how you braided it? :D

  • flipping AWESOME!

  • this is sooo much easier, thank you =]

  • oh... I always thought thats how people made them :\ I fail right? lol

  • whats the difference of this kind of braid and conrows? they both look the same?

  • i think that's the point!! but conrows are tiny little french rolls (french braids/plaits but going under, not over)

  • What she showed in this video wasn't actually a braid. She just twisted small section of her hair instead of french braiding it.

It's a lot quicker and less tiring. But you're right, they do look the same.

  • I never thought of that...

  • youre awesome

  • This is new to some people? I've never been able to french braid my own hair like this so I've been doing this since I was in High school!

  • Me too! But I realized some people might not know about it since whenever I am lazy and do twists instead, people always ask "How did you do that?"

  • You just solved my unwashed-hair styling dilemas! thankyou very much! (It's something i'd like to do on some of my mroning rutines, but i took me so long, that I just did a ponytale or something)

  • I did this to my daughters hair last weekend for a wedding! It was so cute and easy for her...less time to sit instead of having to sit for frenches! :)

  • that's a cute hairstyle! please post more...i run out of things to do with mine.

  • so simple yet effective. love it. x

  • brilliant! you are a very pretty girl

  • it's hairspray, not grease.

  • even if it was grease, that little bit of natural hair oils helps hold styled updos.

  • cool! luv it!!!!!!!

  • Does it stay like that if you put a little rubberband in it or does it twist right back?

  • yep it stays because all the hair youre grabbing and twisting underneath anchors it.

  • Love it, thank you for the idea Risa :)

  • Very Pretty :-)

  • Nice! The twist you did is called a flat twist.

  • yes you can tell they dont look the same ..but both styles are so pretty

  • so easy but so stylish!

    thanks so much!

  • thanks, very helpful! i never can do french braid right... this is a lot easier!

  • Much easier! But I'll practise the french braid too. :D Thanks for your videos!!

  • Wow, that's so awesome.

I remember my mom tried to teach me to french braid when I was little but she could never explain it well enough, this is amazing, I will definately be trying it out.

  • thanks this is much easier !!

  • You've been making videos like crazy! Keep them coming.... They're great!
