And to be blunt, as far as rock and roll goes, I have to agree with Elvis, THIS particular take is just barely rock, whereas the officially released version is REAL rock and roll.

This is good. I like the other version better from the soundtrack and the movie personally. If the 2 versions had been reversed I think I would still prefer what has become the origonal best . Never knew this version existed. Sounds really cool but for the movie the one used was best for it has that really upbeat kind of get up on your feet and dance excitement about it. This is good for a slower pace version.

apparently they used to record elvis' early RCA stuff on two tracks to balance them together on a final mono mix, not intended for release in stereo.

a few of his tracks were re-released in stereo on an album in the '80s.

by all accounts, elvis hated stereo!

No wonder this wasn't the single that was released, there is absolutely no guitar on the track at all, the bass is not the grooving walking bass line it should be, Elvis sounds too nasally in several segments.

The drums sound weak, and the piano is way too low in the mix.

Imagine what state RCA Records would have been if whoever uploaded this was the producer at the time. Elvis is barely even singing, he's close to talking, not singing.
