I suspect that the helmet is attached to a cable to help your balance. I would have believed the stunt if the camera man had shown your jumping from the same angle as they were showing you walking the plank. Seems strange that you walk from one side to the other and then when you are ready to jump the camera is at a different angle. (Perhaps so no one could see you remove the helmet from its cable.) Why not repeat the stunt with no helmet or parachute.

Dude, if you would've read the subtitles, you would've noticed that the man who walked across and the man who did the skydive were not the same, the stunt Co-ordinator jumped afterward, with what looks like a lower altitude, hence the different camera angle.
