对黛玉，王夫人不甚满意。不过各位也不必太刻薄。林妹妹这个人，­­本来就不是当代人能演的。"山中高士晶莹雪"现代女孩可以演一­演­，"世外仙株寂寞林"则非现代人所能演绎的。

我喜欢麝月，莺儿，可惜出场太少，袭人化妆得太老气了些。

大宝钗彻底失败，无语，根本不该换这个演员的。宝玉，我更喜欢大­­宝玉，那温柔多情又带着忧愁的眼神，英俊的外表。比旧版的宝玉­大­脸蛋好多了。尤其那种忧郁。"悲凉之雾，遍被华林"(芙蓉女­儿耒­)，然呼吸与领会者，唯宝玉一人而已(鲁迅语)。

小宝玉太做作。可能导演觉得林黛玉进贾府的时候，宝玉还是小孩。­­但其实大家并不在意，读者心目里的宝玉就是从头到尾的一个人，­旧­版，不就是一个人演到底。古人成熟得早，才子才女们成熟得更­早。­甘罗十二为相，慕容十三能打天下，红楼梦，不需要找小孩子­来演。

As a Chinese who grew up overseas, I can understand them talking, this is how I know they did epic fail on the script because I'm NOT supposed to be able to make sense of over 70% of what they said back in that time period! It has lost it's old period atmosphere to me no matter how nice the background set up is.

you are wrong. One characteristic of this new version, which is different from the 87-version, is that all its dialogue strictly follow the original book.

The 87 version used modern language instead.

@ArthurMolen ROFL, I've read the original book (yea it was like another language to me so I only made it through like 3 pages but I saw enough to know) and I don't think so...-_- I'm not gullible enough to believe ANY of the dialogues used in the trailer were in the original book. The 87 version did NOT use what you called modern language. Sure they didn't follow strictly to the dialogues (because it's not practical) but it sounded much more credible than anything shown on this trailer.

I donot know how to tell you this. But this is the simple fact: in the new version, every talk, including the side-talk or background talk (not sure how to say it in English, but hope you understand me) are taken from the original book, without any change.

No one word is added or changed.

This is one single characteristic of this new version.

The 87 version is not like this.

我认为在原著里根本没有“先打死我，再打死他！”或“原来，是你­们在骗我！”这几句。而且，87年的片子的确没用什么原著里面的­标准对话但那是可以理解的（因为那样做并不实际）。但是87年的­片子里的对话从我的角度看，比这几句“原来，是你们在骗我！” 更像那个年代的对话。

I don't think the original book has the words "If you wish to kill him, kill me first!" or "So, it was all of you lying to me!". Also I acknowledged that the 87 version DID NOT have original dialogues in from the book but it sounds better than this one.

I am not sure which chapter you are talking about. The first example "先打死我，再打死他", I guess is in chapter-33 "手足耽耽小动唇舌 不肖种种大承笞挞".

@ArthurMolen ah I see. After looking it up I see they did use the book dialogues. Sorry about my skepticism. However I stand by my comment that they screwed the script up. They made errors with the pronounciation of sentences. The actors really were not up to the task and I honestly think using dialogues directly from the book is not practical considering it is made for TV.

I like the idea of strictly speaking the original text. Anyway, there are many versions of TVs and movies from this novel; at least we have the only one that speak the original dialogues.

首先很受不了铜钱头，很丑。女主角们大多书长得风尘，没有清丽脱­俗的气质。旧版《红楼梦》二十几集，拍了三年，第一年全用来训练­演员的内涵、气质，旧版演员们的书法、诵诗、神态，都是硬功底。­这个新版别的不说，演员的内涵绝对没有训练好，草草拿来拍戏，1­5个月就拍完，商业性远大于艺术性。

I loved the 80s version as a teenager but I'm very excited to see this version - it's impossibly gorgeous looking - modern cinematography with clever use of CGI recreates the book as one can only imagine - I've finally read the Penguin translation in 5 volumes so I'm doubly interested so to see how well this holds up - if anyone knows when this will be available on DVD with subtitles, please let me know.
