  • I need help I,m getting a error on the last step where you have to check the box

  • dependency service'problem

  • ok, i could use some help, a couple days ago my 360 connected to live(an ethernet from my 360 to my desktop which gets wireless internet from a linksys usb) i got home like 2 days ago, turned on my 360, and it couldnt get internet. i tried resetting everything to default factory and reconnecting again, but it doesnt work. i got internet using ics but now i cant, and i cant get it bridging either. and when i see my xbox settings the ip for it starts with 169, any suggestions?

  • You think I can order a Superpass Long Range to connect my Acer Netbook, and have a internet free?

  • it only goes upto the second stage

like yu know how there is 3 stages where it loads

    Xbox 360 --> Network --> Xbox Live

it only gets to Xbox 360 --> Network

it dosnt go to Network --> Xbox live that is where it fails (getting that red "X" Mark)

  • but wat if we dnt have wireless internet

  • its not wireles if u have thernet cable ...

  • @NextagonHD I was thinking the same thing

  • please help me refer 1o people to this site bit . ly / laayG8

    (Remove spaces)

  • lol i got the 360 slim, my neighbors have wifi with no PW so all i gotta do is connect to his router named netgear and im online on my xbox, saved me money since i don't gotta buy a router, is there anyway they can find out im using there internet?

  • @TH7596 Yup they can look on their users who is using the wifi connection in their settings it should probably say XBOX and if they dont have a xbox your fucked

  • omg thank you so much

  • DAM! im a limited account user and my dad is the admin is ther any way to bypass the UAC

  • can u use this to connect a xbox 360 controller to?

  • i need help....

  • i need help

  • my xbox didn't come with an ethernet cable what do i do instead?? becuase i dont want to buy one

  • @mattpedroscottjamie Never get on XBOX Live? Honestly, how do you expect to get on live without anything to connect yourself to the internet. You're gonna have to buy either an ethernet calbe or the wireless adapter.

If you go to places like Jaycar (in Australia) or I'm guessing radioshack you can buy ethernet cabling by the metre (foot/yard?) which is the cheapest way. You only need plain Cat 5 or 5e.

  • I don't see the point in this... you will experience a bad connection if you try to put the xbox through a computer or laptop. i tried it when i first got my xbox 360 like 4 years ago. just use a ethernet cable from your router. and if you don't have a router just the modem invest in one you can get cheap ones for like 30 bucks and some of them are pretty good. i have a tplink n router i paid 29.99 can$. Best connection cable is the way to go. I hate playing laggy games from some wireless guy

  • @champ0053 Some situations dude, you can't use a router, either cause you're gonna need some stupid amount of cable (say 30m or so) or you live with people who don't want cables running around (or even with kids who will pull on them or whatever). And no, it will not cause lag, unless you have a terrible wireless connection, which will be the same through the laptop or with the wirelesss adapter.

I have the xbox wireless adapter, and I'm always getting host (with great hosting).

  • yesyesesyesyesyesyesyes hell yes !!!!!!!!! finally a good tutorial i freaking love you i want to have your babies tytytyty ive tried 4 today and this one worked and it took me like 2 minutes to save like 80 dollars now i can buy turtle beaches i love you i wish i could donate 10 bucks to you !!!!1

  • Do u have to have windows vista????

  • HELP! I dont have a wireless card but i have a wireless usb dongle, will this still work??????

  • thanks mate :)

  • bless your soul sir

  • i. love. you.

  • "Connect your xbox360 to internet without spending money "

at 0:35 you already told us to spend $30.00. Unless the phrase "30 bucks" means gathering a bunch of deer, and giving them to wal-mart, i'm pretty sure thats money.

  • PLZ HALP SOMEONE i dont have a sharing tab help plz

  • lol, you might want to directly connect your Xbox360 to your WiFi Adapter's LAN Port rather than taking the PC near it. Since your PC is WiFi, it doesnt matter where it sits as long as its 20 meters away from the WiFi router.

  • what if i have Pc? where would you plug the Ethernet cable if the computer's about a yard away from the Tv?

  • @RaYzTri0z14 i'm assuming your desktop computer uses a wireless card, otherwise you probably would just plug it into your router. but in the case that you do have a wireless card, just plug it into the ethernet port, where you would usually plug an ethernet cable in for wired internet.

  • haha, lying piece of shit, you still have to buy a wireless adapter for xbox360 to do that

  • @AmandaFields I opened it up so that "other people" could use my internet connection and my xbox360 didn't detect shit and said I needed to buy a wireless adapter. Go choke on a dick and die

  • @AmandaFields ah well, internet play is for rich people and asshole guys anyway

  • @AmandaFields you probably just did something wrong... it works.

  • @bjensen17 Nope, I did everything in the video.

  • @AmandaFields what version of windows are you using?

  • @bjensen17 Windows 7 Home Edition

  • @AmandaFields check the answered comments up top. this video is for vista, windows 7 requires a different method to do what's called "bridging" your connections.

  • the best way is router!

  • if you do that, people can use your internet for free

  • untrue.

  • im gonna kick your ass when i c you for bein so awesome thanks alot!

  • I could use some help.

Under the sharing tab, I click the top box, and under that box, it makes me select "home network connection" which I have noticed is not on the video. I believe this is why this connection is not working for me. I have watched other videos saying I have to bridge the connections, is bridging connections my answer?

    Thank you.

  • yes. bridging your connection is essentially what is done in this video. in windows 7 and xp the instructions from this video won't work. you have to bridge the connections. NOTE if you have windows 7 basic, network bridging is not supported.

  • yes bridging the connection would be the way to do it. although i have never tried it with an xbox so no promises.

  • dude dude, help help help help, at 1:16 i dont have the wireless connection, on the right..how i get it?

  • check to make sure the correct drivers are installed on your comp. right click "computer" >> manage >> device manager. if you see that one of the devices has a yellow mark to the left of it (probably network adapters) right click it >> update driver software. go through the steps it tells you to do. if that doesn't work try to find the correct driver for that network adapter online (google). else make sure your wireless router is on and working.

  • this work on xp?

  • does it work with a laptop

  • @rashwilliamsscoots lol no shit

  • @bjensen17 but if i do taht can i play online without paying every month? and can i do it in windows xp?

  • I have spent the last 2 hours trying to do this. At 1:42, I do not have a Sharing tab. My xbox knows it's connected to a PC. My PC knows it's connected to an xbox. However, they will not share anything, and the connection test on the xbox fails.

Maybe Game sell the very expensive adapters? It's been 2 hours and I failed to save money. I think it's time to give up. ):

  • thanx man!, goodjob :)

  • yeah 100 dollars for tht wirless thing, or 400dollars for a laptop, yet its free :D

  • The easy thing to do is use an Ethernet cable directly with a router. The method demonstrated in the video is to use a wifi-enabled PC as a sustitute for a 360 wifi adapter.

Imagine you have a wifi laptop/pc in your room along with a 360 but you don't want an ethernet cable stretching across the house from your modem. That's where this method would be convenient.

Still, it's best to stay wired if you don't want lag. Otherwise you'll lag out of a match everytime someone turns on the microwave.

  • ive connected my xbox to pc now but it says the xbox 360 cannot connect to the network

  • Thank you!!!!!! I Saved 100 DOLLARS!!! I FUCKING LOVE YOU DUDE!!!!

  • everytime i try to do that its shows up a window saying that an error occurred while Internet Connection Sharing was being enabled. null.... why is that happening i just followed the steps as u said ????

  • @CoolMultiGamer Thats not right then, Every Xbox should come with a cable. I would go back to wherever you got it from and tell them about it.

  • My 360 didnt come with an ethernet cable

  • @CoolMultiGamer No. the aarcade version shouldn't come with one. but don't worry, they should only cost about 5-10 dollars.

  • but you can connect to xbox live with an ethernet cable neway :S yu dumshit

  • is ther any possible way to do this but with a dell latitude

  • can't you just connect the ethernet cable without doing this??

  • THANK YOU its work :D

  • dudeee thank u sooooo much

  • Do not tell my brother of this

  • dude you rock! thanks so much for this! saves me having a wire going all round my house and p***ing off my mom!

  • @JonnySchoey27 with your gamer tag for xbox live

  • @MarquisFord678 huh?

  • Dear BJensen17

    I like you.

    lessthan three "<3" iaxx

  • its work.thanks,thanks very much

  • thanks man,is run,thx thx thx thhhhhhhhhhhhx!

  • imo you're far better off using powerline networking than buying the wireless adapter from microsoft since you can use it with more than just your xbox and because its wire it'll provide faster transfer speeds than wifi

  • omg is there any vid that shows it with adapter cuz i have the money

  • @thebestanthe3rd IDIOT THIS IS BETTER!

    FREE AND EASY!

  • @XxHitboyxX197 idiot wat if i have my fucking PC across the fucking house now dont be calling peapole idiots if u dont know wat there talkin bout

  • @thebestanthe3rd i think ur prob is ur english hahaha

  • i did everything but i got Mtu problem i can't go online plzzz help

  • Can you do this on windows 7 home premium?

  • i been at this for 7 days now

  • when i go to the wireless properties i dont have the sahring tab SOMEONE HELP!!!!!!!!!!

  • @msmgamers SAME!!! If someone sends him a PM explaining, please forward to me! I can record a video of me trying if anyone wants it because it doesn't show a sharing tab :/

  • Ok I have everything plugged in, and I only see my connection, when I open properties I don't see sharing, WDF? Help!

  • Can't I just connect my internet cable to my xbox 360 ?

  • omg i need immediate help. on my settings on the computer where you can see who you're sharing media with , i deleted the 360 and i dnt know how to put it back.

  • speak up

  • @buttkiss36 open your ears

  • I tried this & did everything right but my thing says there's an error when I try sharing my network connections.

  • I did exactly this & it says an error occured while trying to do this, why?

  • this works but the connection is bad

  • omg thanks alot your the best cuase i wasnt going to pay 100 for a adapter

  • Not only that but im seeing so many thank you's on here, its nice that this helped people but this is rediculous. Step one attach cable to xbox 360, step two attach other end of cable to dsl modem, step three enjoy connectivity as you turn on your 360. I mean if your needing wireless i can see how this could be helpful, but its not the only way to connect your 360 to the internet and its not that helpful

  • @dbzfromhell i know that this is not the only way but im moving my xbox in my room and my modom is down stairs so this will help anyone who needs to do this

  • or if you dont want to fuck with all those steps, take a broadband cable hook it up to dsl modem, and your done. honestly this is taking more steps then necessary.

  • hi, does this method work on xp?

  • hi does this work with xp?

  • I tryed this, it worked but for some reason after a couple of minutes i get disconnected from xbox live and i check the status of the wired network and its sending more packets then receving why is that. I have a N adapter for my pc and N router.

  • Thanks for the youtube Video Bjensen17 since i finally got connected through This Morning i am so happy.

my xbox360 ethernet is really small since our xbox360 never came with one in a box first time we bought ours but lucky my other ethernet cable work Perfectly So Thanks for the video

  • Thank you i finally got Connected This smorning seriously i am so happy . i got through at 2:15 am Today

  • OMG THanx u soo much dude i couldnt get it to work at first

  • I tried the exact same steps you did, and when i try to enable to sharing and then setup the bridge, get a pop up saying you need to select either 2 LAN highspeed connections, or a highspeed connection that isnt internet sharing, WTF!!!!! this is horseshit lol

  • ty!

  • can you do this on windows 7?

  • @brolygoku21 his using windows 7

  • @carmancilla That's not Windows 7 you Ar-tard. This video was published in 2007, windows 7 wasn't even OUT then.

  • Anybody know how I can get the sharing tab under my wireless network connection? I only have the "networking" tab there.

  • Sorry to the people having problems, but I'm running Vista and this worked the first time. Step 1 - plugged a regular ethernet cable into the back of my pc. Step 2 - connected same cord to my xbox. Step 3 - followed video exactly (properties, sharing etc.). Step 4 - modern warfare 2 for 3 hours.

  • my one just freezez why why!!!!!!!!!!

  • well you have to spend $30 for a wireless connector... not free... fail

  • why would u wanna do all this shit wen $10 cable solves all your problems no fuss

  • works some times when it works it works 30 mins then it looses connection and cant et on xbox online again on whol day dont know wats wrong

  • holy crap dude thx so much it worked sub this vid

  • you need a cross over TP-cable! This wideo is stupid becouse the person that does it has definatly not tryed it himself...

  • @tmokleby THe cable that comes with a xbox360 elite is that typr of cable.

  • if you share your network somebody will get in and steal your network thats why im scared from

  • thanx dood it really worked

  • i FUCKEN LOVE YOU! THANK YOU I WILL BUY AN ASIAN HOOKER! :)

  • when i try to enable network sharing it says an error occured and it doesnt work y?

  • Hey, are you still having difficulty ? because mine was saying error too,

But then i read down through these comments and someone said about "bridging" the (Local Area Connection) with the (Wireless Connection) by highlighting the 2 with the mouse "holding down left click and sweeping across them" then right click and choose (bridge..)

It then creates another ICON as the bridge, right click it, and choose (properties), wait for the blank field to load & at the top ("tick both boxes") then ok

  • 2/ The icon started to identifying the connection.. i ran a connection test on the Xbox, and it worked.

you can change the name of that bridge icon, to Xbox ect,

    -------------------------------------

I clicked on the video-response under the video above, the one on the right there and he shows what to do with bridging

    AV917's video ( watch?v=UgbX5gM56lE )

    .

  • doesent work for me why?

  • I used this method about a year an a half ago. It a nice alternative if you don't want to buy a wireless adapter, but then again, if you don't have a laptop, then obviously it won't be cheaper. The bad thing is, your computer needs to be turned on while you're on live.

  • realy its work!!

  • if that didnt work make at manage screen

select local area and wireles press right mouse button en then click at make brig make it plug in ethernet cable in laptop and xbox 360 you should have internet now hope i helped if you wanna i got cod 4 and cod6 addme ass frend : Vampishrenso see ya

  • omg if you don't have a wireless laptop it will cost more then a wireless xbox 360 adapter

  • you just need a wireless card in your computer it can be one of those usb things

  • There is no difference between this and directly wiring the Xbox to your home network router/switch. A prerequisite to this would be to have your Xbox close to your computer. To wire it to the router, the Xbox would have to be close to the router.

If your Xbox is far away from both, then you have no choice but to go wireless with the Xbox wireless adapter. Unless you want to run long runs of ethernet cable throughout the house.

Idealy if you wire, you want to go directly into the router

  • @kbakken1 i got only 1 ethernet port on both my router and pc, my 360 is pretty close to the PC but i cannot connect the ethernet cable from 360 to either router or pc coz they're already taken, should i get a ethernet switch ?

  • @hoodfigga33

Yes, a switch would be the easiest way to add devices to your network.

  • wow this isnt fucking working

  • if this works i love you man

  • it works but it always LAGS/disconnect me from live any way i can fix this?

  • i no this SOUNDS like a dumb question but... do i have to have my computer ON to connect?

  • Yes, your computer needs to be on to connect.

  • my xbox is to fucking far away from my computer to connect a ethernet cable to it

  • if you dont have the sharing tab try reconnecting to your wireless network and deleting the bridge if you made one

  • i have vista and when you click properties on the wireless connection mine only shows networking and not the sharing tab...can u plz help me send me a message if u can.

  • can any one help me i can not connect my xbox360 help me

  • ily so much right now thanks!!!!!!!

  • i dont have the sharng thing helpp!!!

  • i used to be able to do dat but now my xbox is saying it cnt find an ip address nd idk wut to do?

  • im getting the nat problem but hey its working :)

  • this works, but it is giving me NAT problems. i need help, what do i do?
