Roy; Yes Sir, Reed is much different than Palmetto. I rely wish to find more information on Palmetto thatched roofs. Do you have any friends or acquaintances that may have some information on palmetto thatched roofs? Reed is not that available here in Florida but palmetto grows almost everywhere.

Maybe you can help me. I recently went to a reconstruction of an old cracker expo here in Florida. There ole pole barn had a thatch roof. They used palmetto. I have some photos but I do not know how to down load them in this format. My trouble is I cannot find any information anywhere no how to do it. There are no YouTube videos and I cant find anything on Google. Do you or can you find any information for me>

hello Tony, sorry but i don't work with palm leaves. I use common reed (phragmatis australis) which is very different !
