Children are extremely vulnerable and totally dependent on their parents emotionally and otherwise. And while most folks want what they think is best for their kids, they sometimes forget to take into account that people differ and so are their needs and desires. Every member of a family (even very young) should have their own space filled with love and respect.

I am a BIG Michael Jackson fan with him BUT I must say someone is LYING ! His dad had an interview and he said that Michael didn't want him around him so why in the world would he want his kids around him either..if the movie was so wrong why didn't she speak up then?( they know it's true) To many unanswered questions.

Check out his Dad's interview with Louis Theroux where he talks about how he hit MJ with a plug. Neither one of them or anyone from that era sees their way of discipline as abuse. As a matter of fact padding with a board was legal in school up to the early 80s. Joe has admitted his discipline techniques many years ago on TV but he has said he never "beat" his kids.

As Londell McMillan the Jackson attorney said Michael forgave his father but people seem to want to forget that. Michael showed Joe love and had him involved in his and his children's lives. Get over it. He did, with love.

purplebanana19, i agree with you. michael forgave because that is the kind of person he is but he never ever forgot what his father had done to him. there's a difference between discipline and abuse. discipline is when you get slapped for talking back or lying, abuse is when you had to go outside to get a stick so they could beat you with it because you messed up a dance move or sang too quickly. sure joe tried to redeem himsel, but that never erased the fact that he scarred michael emotionally.
