• I have the cd and it's awesome! Does it have to sound like Nirvana? The Foo Fighters don't really sound like Nirvana either. The first Foo album was probably the grungiest. I like all this music and it's all good in different ways. I wish Sweet 75 had put out a second album and continued but Krist really dislikes the business side of music. He put another band together with one of the Meat Puppets guys and they also only released 1 cd which wasn't promoted at all.

  • Sounds like Nirvana, only with a girl. Oh wait, violins. Okay then, it's completely (maybe not) original.

  • I spoke to Jesus last night and he mentioned that the Beatles were in fact bigger than him .... cos they sold more records and Jesus couldn't play any instrument let alone sing a catchy tune. he was a little jelous but then again so were the Monkeys, Rolling Stones and that shitty garage band at the end of my street.

  • Yva Las Vegas is Venezuelan!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

  • I so dig the Latin influence in their music. Too bad that people can't stop talking about Nirvana/Foos and just enjoy this album for what it is.

  • Awesome song for sure!

  • This stuff should've been much more appreciated, talked about, etc. Should've been a bigger deal to more people. Great band, great sound. Krist should start a major new band.

  • its not that grungy man the singing kinda sucks too high of a voice but I just checked em out cause I loove KRIST at 6'7".

  • i like this it sounds a bit like jefferson airplane with a punk attitude

  • Blah Blah Blah, Meow, hello little cat, Come and play with the Rhinocerus now you carobolic soap loving dog hater, I reckon octupuses will be bred with supermarket workers to make the ultimate cashier. Once apon a time. Rememeber the 5th of November, Your all great you know that , why why why. slice of lemon cheesecake. No I am sorry he is not in this department, can I do anything else to piss you off. No not at all well fuck you very much, goodbye.xx

  • its cool. krist stayed underground, and fair enough, dave went stadium, but dave was always a more talented musician anyways. lets just enjoy what they had (nirvana!!), and what they wanted to do on their own. if we really listen hard to foos and sweet 75, we can just about hear the genius of kurt. legends. they dont want to be compared, they're just doing their own thing

  • foo fighters suck ass sweet 75 were caf

  • you are a fucking retard this shit is gay compared 2 foo fighters

  • @cubsruleoyea fiif fighters is dumb, plod rock drizzle for 'nice' kids. Sweet 75 and Hole are both better bt light years.

  • Better than the Foo fighters my ass

  • ITs very sad it all had to come to this... But its nice to see novoselic holding his axe the same way he used to hold his les paul... I still remember those days when i started learning guitar from my friends after being influenced by nirvana. I played bass and i copied the exact style of chris by keeping it low. God those fucking great days in high school. It was just joints and then jam sessions. I loved playing lounge act.

  • This song sounds really great.

  • still better than the foo fighters

  • Always thought the same

  • true

  • @qwertypus what isnt?

  • @qwertypus lol yep.

  • they're good, but nirvana's still FAR ahead.

  • @hunterhead they are just different

  • AWESOME!!!!

  • i luv this band

  • i had their album when it first came out.

  • its really good!

  • Whicol2, i always thought the same exact thing! i was like they have got to be related some how! lol

  • 2:49 .....tell me that Krist doesn't look like "Cameron" from Ferris Beuller's day off.....even the suspenders etc.

  • krist was good in this band too, only one thing was bad , the mastering of this LP suck!!! Otherways Swett75 will be good enough to kick the asses of nirvana fans.

  • It hurts me to say, Krist was incredible in Nirvana, but this just sucks.

  • I'm pleasantly surprised, didn't expect this to be so good.

  • sweet 75 had good songs. still carried grunge elements. kris is one the best punk bassists out there. too bad just not commercially popular.

  • Comment removed

  • at 2:43, is that a twelve string telecaster?

  • its an fender XII

a 12string guitar based on the jaguar/jazzmaster body

  • I will admit that since I've heard little about this band, I kind of assumed that that they weren't very good (my reasoning being that the music media would have inflated any band with a former nirvana member). I now realize that they are more arty than the foo fighters, less commercial, and that's why they don't have the reputation that the foo fighters have.

  • Dave Grohl said that Sweet 75 sounded like "The Byrds gone hardcore" he loved it.

  • Those had always been my thoughts exactly.

I think it's kind of funny comparing Krist Novaselic and Dave Grohl. To me, it seems like Novaselic returned to the underground and Grohl sort of let the momentum of fame carry him further. In a way, it's as if both of their paths reflected a side of Nirvana.

  • Well put...

  • grohl wanted him to join foo fighters but turned it down because he didnt want people to think it was some sort of reincarnation of nirvana which as we all know could never possibly happen

  • Wikipediar...

  • stop talking about nirvana please!!!! i love the group but dam, this is sweet 75 fuck nirvana right now, in 3:39 seconds then you can talk about nirvana, fuck you for giving me thumbs down, and fuck you for giving me thumbs up my butt

  • yeaaah!!!

  • yeah i agree kurt let everyone contribute ideas btu he was just so fast at it he just got it done soo

  • this is a great band...

    krist is a great composser...

and he made something different to nirvana

and he made something beautiful, this band make me think a lot

  • this isnt nirvana and it isnt about nirvana so why speak of it lol? and to kurt music came first. they all contributed..

  • the drummer needs more credit

  • great song ...kris is a great melodic player,

if they were alowed by kurt to contribute each others ideas they would have been bigger than the beatles and kurt would be alive,..

  • they were allowed, chris and dave both helped write scentless aprentice, dave wrote the guitar riff

  • why did I get a thumb down ?

I love Nirvana and only pointed out a fact in reference to england, that Nirvana meant more to kids than Jesus did , I wasn't knocking it or putting it down I was just saying it .....and now it's all this.

If all three contributed to every song it would have made them bigger than what they all ready are, and this is just the sale of 3 original records .

  • @MuskateerGripWeed Always for the new generation the music means more because they speak the same language. And by the way Beatles was the first band to get involved in this kind of issues they certainly was more bigger that Jesus that was just right back then and still does is my review. Lennon was the favorite singer of Kurt.

  • And by fag you mean....politician?

  • YEa thats exactly what i mean. and in every interview ive seen hes lost all his rockstardom. hes just not as great as he was.

  • I don't see that at all.

  • Oh.. right, he's a fag to try to change the things right? so... every plotician is a fag... the most part of them are shitty, but i think some people thinks in others and try to make the difference...

  • no dude, krist is the same guy, hes just more mature now and understads that evoryone needs to participate in this government in order for it to work properly. hes trying to get colege kids to vote and what not which i think is great. bottom line, hes not a polititian, hes simply trying to get people to participate and help govern themselves

  • this music is really cool

  • this song captures that nirvana spirit more so than any foo fighters song

  • he still on this band?

  • No, the band broke up after five years together during which time they released just one album. Since then, Krist has played in the No WTO Combo (released one album before disbanding) and Eyes Adrift (released one album before disbanding). In 2006, he joined the reunited punk band Flipper, and is playing on their new album (to be released this year). Oh, and he played bass in all of those bands except for Sweet 75, for which he played guitar.

  • tanks ;)

  • yva las vegas is freaky

  • in one of cobain's interviews kurt said that he was feelin bored with grunge. i think if he a was still alive he would hv slowed down a bit. probably he would still hv head bangin songs but he will also hv slow songs that ur grandparents can listen too. he was talkin about sittin on a chair an playin acoustic guitar like "Johnny Cash".

  • He was gonna start a slow band with Michael Stipe. So yes, slower rock. All of them would have, and then made something together as Nirvana. I honestly wish they'd disbanded Nirvana and Kurt Cobain had gotten a rest as the others did their thing, then reunited again. Anything's better than Kurt being killed...

  • krist could of joined the FF but he and dave thought people would think of it as a rip off of nirvana. Shame, I would of liked to heard more of krist after 94

  • correction, the proper grammar of that sentence would be "krist could HAVE joined the FF" not "could of"

  • suck my balls hows that for grammar school girl

  • hahahahahahahaha now that fucken funny

  • Sweet 75 :P Eyes Adrift! Flipper! :D Especially Flipper

  • krist shouldve joined foo fighters in my opinion.

  • yap i agree

  • Foo Fighters is playing @ pinkpop 2008 ^^!!

  • Aint nothing wrong with this music. He wouldn't fit in the foo fighters. Obviously he wanted to move in this direction.

  • i love this i think it has a better sound then foo fighters and for some reason i can actually picture this as like a nirvana album somewhat to an extent though

  • krist shouldve joined foo fighters

  • I bought that record when I was 14 and I still

love it at 22. I like that Krist never joined

    a grunge retread.

    Thanks for putting this up.

  • Do they still play?

  • No, not anymore.

  • a very good tune, im liking this lots

  • Foo Fighters are not much of a bend if you ask me lol ;3

  • got there album and single awesome!! had the years

  • i love this band to band and im glad krist didnt join foo fighters

  • He actually joined them on stage for a couple of gigs when Nate felt Ill and couldn't play. Dave Grohl once described Sweet 75's music as "The Byrds gone hardcore"

  • Krist... should have joined FF.

  • i like it. krist is the man

  • good song,good album..

  • Interesting!

  • saw them.........god, years ago at the lost horizon in syracuse, ny. decent band. still have the cd.
