  • I think it's because modern horror movies have lost the storytelling aspect, if you don't understand what I mean go read a good horror book or novel and you'll see what I'm talking about.

In order for a horror film to truly disturb you it must first draw you into the storyarc. A good murder mystery novel with a hint of otherwordly darkness is far scarier than most movies made in the last 15 years.

  • they is fake just fake people but horror movies (some) scare the fuc kout of me !

  • They're only scary because they have spooky music to spiff em up.

  • crap man... you made me break my headphones >:(.....lol

  • Tat fucking clown scared the shit out of me

  • here! here!

  • have you seen paranormal activity??? I peed myself

  • i totally agree with you-most of the films now just show you gore and there is no emotional involvement in it. i think movies like antichrist work much better in disturbing you,i found myself really drawn into the story and the very short violent scenes just helped that.

  • U jerk!!

  • why are you drinking cool aid your not black lol JK

but seriously you only talked for 4 minutes dang how thirsty can u get?

  • ass

  • Remakes: unoriginal/creative Hollywood producers trying to make a buck

Originals: the ones you listed were never scary in the first place, but were at least more entertaining than their remakes.

Gore: should really be a genre of its own, since it's more disgusting than frightening

Random freaky pictures: annoying, never terrifying. That Clown.

Your drink: it looked tasty. what is it?

Willy Wonka: creeps me out more than any Saw ever will

    Sequel-Killed: Final Destination.

  • Why is willy wonka scary? Is it a different movie than the chocolate factory?

  • It's creepy.

  • damn that scared me at 2:22

  • I knoW! I Wasn't even looking and my heart jumped! I dont want to go to bed now....mommy....is that you?

  • Horror movies now days aren't scary because they use too many fast-moving action scenes and loud bangs to make you jump.

In my opinion, a good horror movie starts with little things happening to people (things that are ignorable at first) and then gets into more creepy things like apparitions of dead people.

It's really the things that make you wonder, that lets you use your imagination, like what's around a corner, that makes a movie creepy. One decent example is The Shining.

  • Eh, I really don't think "The Shining" is really scary at all. And I mean not at all.

  • u tosser i shit mesen lol

  • most of todays horror movies are awful cliche filled teen horrors that focus on sex, drugs and blood

  • i agree with u that its just blood and gore now in horror films and no fear at all

but, anyways, watch japanese horror movies, cuz those r the real scary ones

ex. the ring(original) and one missed call(original) and ju-on(translation for the grudge, but the original japanese version

  • son of a bitch that fucking clown scared me

  • I totally agree with this video... I think the whole genre has been worn out since Freddy and Jason. The only good horror movies are ones that are thrillers with CERTAIN horror movie elements IMO...

btw that Hillary thing made me laugh. That should be in a horror movie.

  • dude that scared the fuck out of me

  • fuck you

  • Boo! ; P

  • HILLARY!

  • lol at the ending xD

  • Well, for most modern horror movies you're right, but Hostel pt. 1 + 2 scared the frakk out of me. But one thing I've been wondering ybout for years now: why do all horror movies from Cannada suck like vacuum? I've never seen a good canadian horror movie, not a single one...

  • I actually have not seen either of the Hostel films, but from what I have heard they were all about gore. And what Canadian films are you talking about? Lol

  • Yes, they are gory. But told in a way that makes you think about some aspects of our modern society. They've got a story that is not too unrealistic, with no supernatural stuff.

Those canadian movies... well, I've seen a couple, but they were so bad that I don't remember the names. They give a new meaning to the expression "C-movie"...

  • I liked the way you threw in those unexpected clips, lol. Good luck on your future projects Taylor:)

  • that picture scares the hell out of me

    you're right btw
