@simplyxwilliam Still confused by the obvious?! Someone who's falling behind must've used it. Trust me, I've faced it in countless Mario Karts that involve the Lightning Bolt, and Mario Kart 64, while rare, is no exception.

Mario Kart Ninendo 64 was probably the easiest version of mario kart I ever played, the hardest to play was SNES on hardest setting. Together with the GBA versions it was way too easy. Gamecube version was a lot harder, as is the Wii. Haven't played the Nintendo DS version.

@joskes123 The Wii one was just hard for stupid reasons. It was easy though with a little bit of luck. SMK is the hardest in the series by far.

I don't know why you'd suggest the GC version is harder, snaking/powersliding made the game terribly easy.

Some how I played this game so much I could beat 150cc with no problem every time. And I didn't know the mini turbo tricks I know today. Now when I play it after all these years I get my ass owned by the Cpu

Super Mario Kart and MarioKart 64 were the best Mario Kart games.They took skill to play. espcially MK64. That Mini Turbo was no joke. You needed that to beat the game. The newer MK games simiplified the play for other gamers.Nothing against them but this is still the epitome of Mario Kart to me.

I have the NTSC version on MK64 and at the point in the song @ about 1:40, I'm coming out of the second to last turn heading towards the finishing esses leading to the finish line. :)  Usually get about a 1:37.xx or 1:38.xx
