I ordered one of these 2 months ago from a UK site. Still waiting for it to arrive. But i bought a Xotic BB Plus recently and the BB Plus is the business. I hope this is a good buy, but the last comment posted here, has me a bit worried.
sounds about the same. a little muddy but great tones from both ( i have plexitube-through a peavey classic 50 head-4x12 cab. boss eq in loop) what sucks is unless you got your power amp cranked a bit, and the level pretty high, (on plexi-t) the damn thing sounds fizzy. and once you get loud, better have a long guitar cord or a noise gate! she will squeal! but with the tube in the plexi, i get great sustain. lacks some bass, sounds cheap with the contour dimed, but makes great metal tones!
Turn the high gain knob all the way down, make it tone pot on, say, 3 o clock and play Holy Wars by Megadeth. Then u understand how versatile this beauty is. The vid is not showing it.
I want to buy the AC Tone, it's a similar control than this one but I don't know if it's possible to pass to the inactivate effect to the boost and the crunch (not the high gain) at the same time with only one foot (push select and boost footswitch, both at the same time)
What's happen if you push only the select footswitch ?
I need more information about this effect, if you know it and understand what I want to say please tell me...
I've found, for a great Angus sound, check out the Subdecay "Liquid Sunshine" Sounds killer on an overdriven tubey. I have it chained to a Way Huge "Fat Sandwich". Sounds great.
Hello, I've got Carlsbro TC60 head+cab. But it's a clean amp and crunches at a way too high volume.
Is there some kind of pedal, that can make my clean amp sound saturated, my Plexitone pedal sounds a bit too "cold" and lacks the warmth from this demo.
It seems my previous reply is not posted. I own the Blues Deluxe, 2 US Fenders and a '78 Gibbo ES 335. Everything sounds awsome, the pedal is the best £170 spent on effects ever. Get one.
fede2890 if I may answer, yes it is. I tried this pedal with a varity of guitars (among them telecaster), and different amps. Half stacks, combos, tube or transistors. I have not yet found a combination that this pedal does not sound sweet with! Hope this helps :-)
dunlop hendrix pedals??? WHAT!! must be a kid with a guitar! if you want hendrix sounds! get a proper handbuilt fuzz pedal! theres stuff out there that is good and not too pricey! Dunlop?? give me a break
This pedal is simply amazing, though it is more of a Plexi on steroids......I also own a Delayla XL. Both pedals are dead quiet. I am serios..never heard quieter pedals. Buiilt in power supply helps indeed. Sound quality is amazing (specially th Delayla XL...hey Andy, when are You going to review it????)
If you're looking for a henrix sound I would recomend the dunlop hendrix pedals. But if you're on a budget them I would go for this and a wah and you can shell out some Hendrix in no time.
You must consider You're getting a "two channel pedal" with the addiction of a great clean boost You can use on its own, should You need it. So it's three channels in the end! Sound quality and note articulation are insane (the built in power supply is true miracle). I own one and I don't think I am going to get rid of it any soon. Hey..I am not an effects freak, but care about my sound. Carl Martin has an incredible cusomer service as well..the best I have experienced, toghether with Breedlove.

It's a low wattage tube amp, that's what happens when you turn it up.

wud this pedal do a good mid-90s Oasis tone? Somewhere in this demo i heard the tone of 'she's so high' by blur, which is nice
purenectar 2 years ago
Oasis used a pedal called a Crowther Audio Hotcake. You can find them on eBay for about $100.

Thanks for that guys...helps to make the choice!

cut the select out of the pedal and shrink the size down to 2 buttons - drive and boost
add more gain. The echotone takes up to much room on my board.

Perfect sound! But does it sound the same with a clean valve amp?
joeguitar80 3 years ago 5
it would do but u may want to boost the gain on the pedal a tiny bit more if u want the tone the same as it is in the video

Yes, it does...

Hi, great demo as usual. Do you guys plan on producing a demo of the Carl Martin AC Tone pedal?
capri22cherub 3 years ago
i thought just the boost sounded the best. maybe with the crunch at a low level and the boost as a solo boost would sound really nice
