this video is good generally but not scholarly, the brahmins themselves used to eat meat, cow specifically as it is recorded in the rig vedas. the animal would be scrificed in a religion ceremony and then handed out as prasad. secondly the untouchable have been in india probably before the advent of any hindu traditions. it is the brahmins who seem to have adopted an outide ideology that may or may not have been forced on them.

Today, it isn't as prevalent, services are given to the people who have money, regardless of caste. Christianity has similar ideas, you HAVE to be Christian to "make it." Why I said ganesh is worshipped most by bramhins is for the fact that, in more than half bramhin population from maharashtra lives in Konkan region, & it common there to see ganesha temple as main temple in village. Even the PURUSHA SOOKTHAM was mis-interpreted by some people. It says that Brahmins are born from the Face of that Supreme Purusha, Kshatriyas from the hands and so on... and says Shudras are born from the feet of the Lord, who is the Supreme Purusha... this does NOT mean that they are belittled ! See the symbolism ! Face means knowledge, hands indicate protection, feet means support service ! remember, in temple, you bow to the feet of the lord, not to his head ! such is the value of feet !

this video is good generally but not scholarly, the brahmins themselves used to eat meat, cow specifically as it is recorded in the rig vedas. the animal would be scrificed in a religion ceremony and then handed out as prasad. secondly the untouchable have been in india probably before the advent of any hindu traditions. it is the brahmins who seem to have adopted an outide ideology that may or may not have been forced on them.
