I had to listen a couple of times to an accoustic rendition of this song to play it this may. Try to play along... maybe you'll get it soon. This cover has been transposed a whole step down (actually an octave and a step). The original is played D, Bm, A, G. You can play the open chords (which is an octave down) or you can start the D barred on the 10th fret and gown down until you hit G on the third fret. For a more ska-like feel: only play the bottom four strings. I think Spin Doctors play this way.

the chord sequence for the origional is D, Bm, A, G (best played as bar chords to get the real spin d's effect) also a tip, on the D + A chords emphasise the a-d-g strings and on the Bm + G Chords emphasise the g-b-e strings (on the second strum).

great song and impressive to see this guy sing + play, its a hard one to play on guitar and from what ive seen before; people to try to sing as they play often make a diabolical mess of it (search: 'Ryan White Spin Doctors Two Princes' on youtube)
