  • awesome ride man...i'm up in Canada and I know where there's a 2002 identical to this but SLP optioned with 8000 kms! (about 5000 miles)

too bad I don't got the $23000 to buy it, it's barely broken in...I test drove it anyways haha...these things pull like bulldozers

  • hey im thinkin bout gettin a ss 6spd ofcourse and i was just wonderin are the reliable cars to own its my first car so im jus curious

  • It's been remarkably reliable for me. She's got about 105,000 miles on her now and has no major problems. However, you have to pay attention to a couple things: one, the newest one is eight years old now. And two, these are performance cars. So if you can find one with relatively low milage that someone took care of, it's fine. However, you will be paying a lot more for that. Especially looking for an M6. If I were in your shoes, I'd expand my search to include autos, too.

  • nice car dude. how much did u pay for that any who

  • Not much. I got a good deal, so it was like $12,000 a little over two years ago.

  • tight im diggn your chevy, im gettn an 01 ss soon, cant wait!! its gonna be bad ass ill post vids on it, its all stock except it has flowmasters, slp air intake box with the k&n air intake kit

  • Yeah, definitely post vids and let me know when you do. It's a great car with a terrific aftermarket. Have fun with it, and keep me posted!

  • nice 01 LS1 SS

  • If that's your '98 racing the '95 in your vid (or the one in your sig), I like yours, too.

  • im guessing this is an automatic unless you pushed the clutch with your right foot when you started the car.

  • Nope, automatic. Tried to get a six speed, but this car was too great of a price to pass up. Plus living in Jersey, autos can save you some major shoulder strain in the constant bumper to bumper traffic.

  • oh i feel you on that. i have an idea though. try ordering the hydromatic 6L80 used in the 08 vette so you can have paddle shifters. in addition, youll have better mileage from 2 extra gears. very sweet maro though. i have one myself, but its a V6:(

  • I actually *tentatively* plan on doing a trans swap (probably same time I do the engine rebuild) when I get back to Ohio. I was leaning toward the old faithful T56, but I'll definitely look into the 6L80. Thanks for the tip, though. By the way, a V6 Camaro is still better than 80% of the cars out there, both in speed and style.

  • go with the T56 if you decide to have a manual, but if you decide to stick with your automatic decision because of the traffic, then be sure to get the 6L80. thats what my stepdad has in his 08 LS3 vette, and it works quite nicely to say the least.

  • hey bro its me again. like your 01 SS nice. i have an 02 SS and the same color lol.check out the 02 let me know what you think. and for suggestions stay with the stock look, spend money on the heart not on shity body kits. you'll always be hitting the low spots. oh and about your rear end, they sale this (9inch rear end for the F-body), theres no cutting and welding needed. same with as the stock rear end.

  • Trust me, I'm not getting a fuckin' body kit. Those things look stupid. New grille, new headlights, C6 Z06 Corvette rims, and that's about it. Thanks for the heads up about the rear.

  • Yeah, the first thing you want to replace is the rear-end even if you're not going to dump a whole lot of money into it. It comes stock with a 7.5 inch 10-bolt, and it is garbage. It's probably the only downside on these cars.

  • Yeah, it seems GM can't get it right with them. It's a shame, because the more I learn about the LS series engines, the more I love them. Here's hoping I win the lottery so I can put an LS9 in here (once they're available)!

  • hey bro its my again. nice 01 SS. i have 02 SS same color too. check the 02 SS out tell me what you thing. keep her stock in the outside view bro. they look gay with shity body kits on and you'll have problems in low spots. OH ABOUT THE REAR END. THEY SALE 9INCH FORD REAR END THAT BOITS ON,NO CUTTING WELDING. SAME WITH AS STOCK

  • what kinda tires are those?

  • Fuzion ZRi. Stock size. They're okay. Will be changed in the spring, probably to Eagle F1s or something.

  • eagle f1 are good but pricy they're like $200 each

  • Clean car man, looks mint.

  • If it's gonna be your daily driver, yeah, try to keep the engine mods as conservative as possible. I'd suggest a G5X2 cam (234/240 dur. - 598/608 lift - 114 deg. lobe). With this cam, decent heads, and good exhaust you'll get pretty impressive HP without suffering too much on your gas mileage. Keep up the great work on that sweeeeet SS!

  • Yeah, those are good suggestions. Good cam, good heads, headers and exhaust, MAF, and K&N or SLP intake are basically on the block for improving hp/tq. I also need to get a decent rear end, so I don't completely shred the gears, of which there is danger with the stock rear. (Major Achilles heel on late-model F cars. Anybody have any suggestions there?

  • HAHA Dam i remember when my 2002 SS sounded stock like that..its come along way! never realized how quite the stock exhuast really was till now...Good luck with your car, it looks great BTW!

  • Thank you. I look forward to doing all the upgrades. All I have right now is a cat-back and I just put some new headlights on tonight, but I have big plans in the works for this bad boy. All new exhaust, cam, heads, maybe even complete rebuild/swap. Maybe to an LS2. Ah, to dream. Thanks again.

  • sweet ride you shuld keep the exterior and interior stock but put some borla ceramic coated headers with a hyabasi 4" off road X pipe then put borla 4" mufflers then put in a tremec 5 speed and put a mosser 373 rear and stroak the engine to a 383 then bore it to a 402 and put a lumpy cam from comp cams new thumer series then it will be the sweetist camaro ever LOL. or keep it stock because it looks fucking sweet the way it is LOL

  • Great suggestions. Thanks a lot. For now, it's a bit of overkill for my daily driver, but they are some great suggestions for when it becomes a pure strip car (which is likely!) Thanks for the compliments, too!

  • hey man i just see a cool car and get carried away but just atleast leave the outside stock it looks gay wene people spend money on shity body kits and crapy wheels just have fun the way she is or do some engine mods
