@daywalker627 Another good reason that I need to go over their soon. Probably monday on my day off. Well, that sounds like a good fix. I just read on the Ammosmith site on James suggestion as well. Will try both. Thanks for the advise. This coming sunday my son is going to try out the 1911 after we're done with 4-H smallbore practice. The range is reserved also for the regional smallbore match. So some stuff to look forward this weekend. My father is finally going to go with me to assists 4-H.
@daywalker627 With the 230gr bullets I am not getting any leading. I will load to 4.8gr max with the Titegroup and see what I get. Today I tried the 200gr LSWC from Renegade Bullet Company and accuracy was great. 5 rounds touching. However I got alot of leading. That was with 5.4gr of Titegroup. Happy about the accuracy but not the leading.
@sierrareloader Was this with their lube? If you have access to some alox, you could try to coat the whole bullet with alox along with their lube and then load some up and give it a try. That may help with the leading as alox is a good lube....
@daywalker627 Will probably try that. I am still new to the cast lead stuff and usually shoot the Sierra's, Speers, Hornady and Nosler jacketed stuff. Haven't been able to get any of the Ranier or Berry's stuff even though it's just a 45 minute drive to Cabela's from San Antonio to Buda Texas. Can't beat the price on the lead cast stuff and its proved today to me that it can be really accurate.
