its the "showboat syndrome" get close to the beach and its showtime, happens when there are spectators, especially hot chicks. With kiting the danger element is elevated and this time we see things go bad, this is why some call kiters "dopes on ropes". its pretty extreme.

I'm trembling watching this video. Had a really bad crash last week myself. Light wind kiting near the shore, (like this guy) gust caught me and launched me onto the beach. Luckily onto sand. Then it re-launched me (like this guy). I walked away but fractured the L-3 vertabrae in my back. You don't think it can happen to you?! Bullshit, thats what I thought. Watch the crash videos and learn. This guy is sooo damned lucky!! I feel I am too. Could have been worse.
