I will be teaching in Thailand in March. Songkran is something I am most looking forward too. I hope the exception of the farangs doesn't spoil the tradition. I think the Thai's welcome everybody such is their Buddhist views so I'm hoping I won't get excluded. As long as it is in the spirit and is respected I hope I will be a good example for the West enjoying an eastern tradition. Sawatdii krap.
what a load of bollox, they know exactly why they are celebrating the new year

In the old days this use to be a highlight and something i wouldnt miss.
Nowadays even this tradition is "ruined" by the "farangs".
Even the young thais has forgotten why they celebrate Songkharn.....

This use to be fun until the foreigners made it to a kindergarden of their own!
Many young thais doens´t even remember why they are celebrating Songkharn!
2-or 3 days of original celebrating has become 1week++++ mai sabaii, mai sanook.
Another cultural piece of Thailand that´s ruined by us....
