  • Sr >ka better head flow and can safely rev higher ( crank won't shake) alltho a DD ka-t with 220-250 at the wheels would be nice but not for a relieable race motor. Sr20ve-t all day. Nice build tho ;)

  • @mmmurmomspie ok now i have driving about 100 different 240sx's and about half of those were with sr20's and i can tell you without some internal work you are not going to hit 12 secs. sr's are slow as hell. i personally had a ka-t and it is hell alot faster then a sr. ok i might have driving about 50 240's and half were sr's. i worked for a 240sx shop :D

  • guy on nico club boosting a sohc has like 480 to the wheels and hes in the process of twin charging it thats freakin sweet a twin charged single slammer id like to build my single for boost like that do the oil squiter mod like the dohc :P be pretty unique

    It's BC KA-T make more power than SR's and why get an RB with an internal wastegate, unless ur getting an RB26Dett or RB26det Neo. Likely youd put a C class like a C18 in it, the RB's cousin. But Anyways, KAT can shit stomp any SR20 if built right, The DOHC ka24det not the Sohc Ka24e

  • yeah not much to brag about. there are plenty of daily driven 12 sec cars these days lol. and the times should definitely be much faster than that. my KA made 461hp, ran low boost at the track and ran 11.1 all day.

  • You ran a blow-through setup? I'm going to complete a low-boost ka24det setup this fall and just run an fmu and retard dist. timing a few degrees.. trying to stay away from ecu tuning until I build one of my other ka motors. I've heard some positive things about running blow-thru instead of draw-thru, but does it really work without extensive tuning for it?

  • the ka-t setup was great, and i never forget about it, actually im helping another 2 fellow ka-ter's to finish their proyects, but im on a different route now ..ls1-s13, we'll see how it runs,

  • Well if your basing that decision on torque, why not get an ls1 or vh45? Both are relatively cheap swaps (if you can DIY) and a v8 has gobs of torque more than any ka24.

  • haha the lsx will make more power but that wont necessarily make it faster.. you'd have to fab motor mounts and do a shit load of work on it to get that v8 in there. now a car that will already fit a v8 will likely be a piece of shit buick thats heavy as hell and needs too much work to get into racing condition

    sr20/ka24=drop in and mod later... so spend your 2.5k and use the rest on something nice. lol

  • i saw that old IAP manifold... i had that sucker. It held up pretty good until i hit about 375 crank hp and she would crack and break each time. its gone now. Gato performance duplicated that same manifold for me with bigger stronger pipes and thicker flanges. Now this new manifold is holding strong at 500+ crank hp...
