i question why people act as if the mere presence of police is hinging on their rights, the police are there to ensure order is maintained and the protestors are there simply to voice an argument but in doing so much realise that they are already causing a scene by doing so. give the police a break, they are just doing their jobs and have better things to do than control a smart ass mob with a message. thats my 2 cents anyway
If I am being harassed and abused by the biggest Gang in Australia, I will need something to identify you with..DO THE JOB YOUR BEING PAID FOR AND WEAR YOUR ID...THE LAW REQUIRES IT!!
Those AFP are only Protective Officers seeing how they're wearing uniforms and guarding the summit. The REAL AFP Federal Agents don't wear uniforms, they're in suits.
I have no Q's for AFP, they sicken me. They strut around every single fucking day walking into peoples homes searching their computers on dodgy warrants and are generally thugs. Take the express to hell you idiots.
What an arrogant bitch, why is she giving a Police Officer shit for doing her job? I hope her house gets robbed or her sister gets raped and the Police refuse to do anything about it. Seriously.. Police are there to help, stop giving them so much crap.
Did he say bob Brown was his name and couldnt provide ID- shouldnt he be able to produce his badge his identification and his card to evidence his office.. you on the otherhand have no obligation to carry identification.
BWAHAHA support the police? Are you people that out of touch with the real world?
Every person has the right to demonstrate against a government/law which they feel is unjust to regular society...
It's ignorant people like the ones making comments in this video that sit back and complain about a law but won't get off their lazy asses to try and make a better country for our children.
Although I guess when you live in a virtual reality like these people, all you need to worry about is your cat
Dumb bitch, she is just being smart. She wouldnt have the balls to act like that anyother place. I had to stand and be yelled at by people like this complaining about UNI fees, yet I had to pay the same fees to complete the uni course to join the police. They are just a bunch of idiots.
Cops don't have to complete a uni course in ANYTHING YOU ABSOLUTE FUCKWIT!
If that was true they wouldn't pass on people who's IQ is too high for the police force....It's a well known fact that if you are above average intelligence the government wants you to become a high academic worker i.e Doctor/Lawyer.

Sure, some have a whinge at best, but being a smartarse to a policeman is not exactly society-changing is it ? This is like being a smartarse to a train guard because train fares rise. If you can't get my point, then you're simply proving my point.
What happened to intelligent life? I love these university types who think they know every law that is passed while they are at their uni bar rather than lecture, and then decide to show their "intelligence" by smartly "interrogating" the lowest common denominator eg: a policeman, parking officer, security guard etc. This instead of asking the people who actually pass the laws on a whim, councillors, politicians, etc. If the best they can do is to be a smartarse to a policeman God help us all.
@Whitetiger141 ... that's weird. there probably was a good reason(s) why they don't have ID showing around one of those reasons is; its for their own safety.
when i was on airforce cadet camp we were told by our officers to remove rank slides when we were are on the field of duty. Same would apply for these guys for their ID.
Your an absolute disgrace to australia and any other country. The cops are there to help.. but not for people like you.. because people like you dont deserve it.. whenever your afraid, you better be affraid because noones comin to help you. peace dog..
its governments and police that generate most crime, if you remove all currency and bartering systems and governments then nearly all crime would disappear!
when i get screwed over i deal with it myself, im not some fucking little bitch like you that needs to wear nappies and be bottle fed !!!
Leave the cops alone, without them you'd be crying on tv as a victim of crime. They did a good job today didnt they. But the police wont expect your support. Or when one dies trying to save someone they never met, they wont expect your support. Your a discrace lady
Nice work! Its damn scary that the police are ORDERED to remove any form of identification. What does that tell us? Does this mean they cease to be police officers? Does this grant them immunity from their actions?
As far as I know there is no law requiring police to wear a name badge. The law says that a police officer must provide you with their name when they exercise a power against you (i.e. Arrest you, search you etc).
The reason that they were told to take their name badges off would be to stop people coming up and taunting them using their name.
The lady asked the officer his name and he told her...I am not sure what else she wants?
ouch....I guess then its ok for you to excercise your rights in relation to citizens and public figures but not freedom of speech. Did you guys actually achieve anything at your protests? Did annoying the cops get you anywhere? My point is surely you protested at APEC about issues that had nothing to do with the NSW police and yet had nothing better to do with your time then to question police? Makes no sense!
@SBDProductions she wasn't "asking question or two" she was being challenging. Look at her whole demeanor and attitude. It's completely inappropriate. Who cares about the name tag anyway? Apparently you're both a pain in the arse. You should take this off youtube; it's been here long enough.
If the officer she was talking to is the officer shown at 0:24 then it is a NSW cop not AFP. if she was talking to somebody next to him then it could be an AFP cop
I think this officer was a member of the AFP Protective Service, which have limited powers of arrest and are the "security guards" of the government. What is he doing that would warrant her trying to undermine his job?
People calm down ... jesus christ in 20 and i feel like in 40 years old here ... she has every right to question the police in regards to this matter ... its called democracy ...
its a perfectly legitimate issue ... and as a whole you would find divided approaches to this issue from different elements of the AFP ... not all cops are cops so they can beat people up you dimwit ... some have vested social interests in ordder to do so!
what a DUMB bitch.. obviously has NOTHING better to do with her time. get a job, shave ur legs and buy clothes, dont fucken make them yourself out of.. recycled fucken.. leaves or whatever you hippy fuck heads do. fucken protestors.. turn them into fuckn glue, make them useful.. be happy we live in a fucken democracy and we are not afraid of our government.. coz if we were, that bitch would be worm food by now! i wonder who she calls when she's in trouble? the police? wake up to yourself whore.
Also, under policy...they are instructed to not talk to members of the press or public unless under instruction. All questions are to be refered to the Public relations Department or a senior officer on site.
Get it right..he's a NSW Police Officer not an AFP officer, and under current national security policy, officers do not have to give their name and details unless they are being asked by someone of authority or they have partaken in their duty and the person involved in the arrest etc is asking.
A stupid comment. The girl hardly gives the officer a hard time, she was merely asking questions...police are PAID to provide a service to us, and answer the odd reasonable question.
I mean so what is this all about a person who happens to be a fed in civies?I cannot see the point of the exercise...id almost say that if thats sposed to be the cop in civies that that person needs a life or walk around with a sticker on its head "im a fed" ddddd
so did the ASIO officers who worked the crowd during the APEC summit, should they have shown they're id and totaly busted the whole op. AFP employs Police Intel officers, who act in a similar role to ASIO and ASIS officer, though thier jurisdiction in the intelligence chain is mainly Domestic and Home realted Criminal Intelligence.
well the chasers certainly showed up the "top notch security"...the entire force needs lessons within communications and or community services area before even being allowed on the street with a gun, hell I saw 1st hand how communication just last night almost had a young guy locked up,the word vary to an immigrant is not a common one and the dad didnt realise his reporting was varied, but one word meant the guy was almost put away and what a waste of time and resources, power to the parents ;-(
The officers behind the young woman are AFP but the officer to the left of the video being questioned is a NSW Police Force officer which is clear as day by not only the style of baseball cap silito tartan, but his shoulder insignia and rank (leading senior constable) which the AFP does not have. For the 100th time it not an AFP officer not wearing any ID. All AFP officers wore tactical vests with 'AFP' in full on the front also...which this bloke clearly doesn't have.
While I totally agree that the girl was a smartass bitch and I have to say that the people at that protest were mainly idiots who generally don't even know what APEC stands for, or have a basic understanding of the advantages or disadvantages of the organisation; I have to agree that I'd like to know why the officers didnt have to show their ID. Getting angry at the officers is wrong, theyre just doing their jobs. Find out why the 'boss' told them not to wear them, then get angry (or not) at him
id reconsider what you just typed...lol a 20yr old next door a good guy walking down the street and he had the cp spray pulled on him and the pig says"you are intimidating" the young guy is tall and broad he cant help not bn a whimp as alot of the cops are of today, some of em think they are the law not to uphold it ;-P
Bad frigging attitude. Calling him "pig" while he's trying to protect you and your family is a stupid way to project an argument. I don't know anything about the incident that you're talking about ,so I wont comment. But whatever, the police are trying to do the right thing, not the wrong thing. End of story.
omg have I hit a sore spot pigs are the one's who pull stunts because they just want to show thier status and thier own sick issues, the kid did nothing wrong so what mr bravo this justifies the capsicum spray,im from earth not uranus, opinions are as assholes we all have one ok
oh and by the way people dont all gather in the tens of thousands and stand on their feet all day coz they think something 40 years ago was cool. oh and your folks should be slapped:)
hey cunt STAM your so fucked and far from reality im not even gonna bother putting a big educated reply on here but here's the short version... WAKE UP BEFORE YOU DIE
choice words you use now thats really allowing someone the upper hand now is'nt it?...its similar to a forum you dont have to take it so personally ;-)
seriously protesters shit me to tears-if i was him i would mace that smart arse bitch who was obviously trying to be rude-the majority of those protesters show up cause they think its cool and somehow be attached to the '60's-protesting resolves shit all-you rekon that the world leaders will see a bunch unemployeed stuck up uni students gathering in the city and think 'hey...we should totally rethink out policies'-NO!
You're replying fropm a POV that protesters were there to misbehave. The point of the protest was to take advantage of a world stage to address important issues.
There was no mass riot or disturbance, with the exception of less than 10 people, everyone behaved.
The Police decided to order the removal of their name tags, and I decided to call the Commissioner on his lie the next day that no such order was given.
you stupid fuckwits can't even tell the difference between a nsw police officer and australian federal police. get a fucking clue before trying to act like you know shit. as much as i dislike the coppers i wish that guy punched that slut in the face.
Until now I've been blocking and deleting comments like this. But this time I shall only block you from further reply.
I just want everyone to see what a reasonable, calm and well thought argument you make.
Incidentally, he was in fact in an AFP uniform and surrounded by many other officers who were. Off camera on his right shirt pocket is the AFP symbol.
Now, please go learn to communicate like a rational human being.
Some morons have little or no working grey matter between the ears lol people who must use fowl languange only shows to me how shallow they are,ive just read the entire lot of comments and hell who cares there were many police at the summit,ROLFNICE=ONE=ur own hey buddy?
It seems that he was polite, civilised and told you his name- wasn't there a case previously where a name tage was stolen and used to stab a police officer in the leg....
No, it was suggested as a reason the next day by the Police Commissioner and by the NSW Premier.
But have you ever tried to kill a man with a velcro name tag?
Of course, by this logic, the Police should not be allowed to carry guns, batons or even pens. Just in case the highly trained and professional Police Force has their stuff taken off them by a bunch of unarmed hippies.
Wasn't that the issue- they hadn't been issued velcro name tags (a mistake, but not the responsibility of the individual officers). And I believe it was during the same protests that marbles were rolled under police horses, that a senior police officer had his hard plastic nametag with a pin ripped out of his shirt and was stabbed in the leg with it
I am glad you said Senior Officers name tag as most ive seen your speaking to a number?actually I had an experience where one state officer thought being a smartass would change his name tag but he was the stupid one as I knew the SPO who bares that name,it didnt do the other much of a favour on my behalf as the name was that of a pig,
What have the police got to do with your problems? It's not personal to them like it is to you. Speaking to one guy about his name just wastes your time. It was a pleasant suprise to see the media treat you lot with contempt during APEC. Even when complaining about the overzealous security nobody ever asked a lefty extremist for their opinions for a 6 o clock news bite. Thats because we're all sick of you and nobody cares anymore.
Well said!Truely though in all honesty I believe the abc prank helped them to see there were a few flaws in the security but I thought it appeared ok its a necessary thing and one we have to live with,no we don't all agree other countries&or people but we have to live with it I thought our Minister for Immigration showed the best qualities of us aussies and he is to be admired for saying what he did, anger gets people no where but a lot of misunderstandings,(did this person remove the account?)
Looks like a NSW police officer to me, rather than Federal police. I'm pretty sure the federal police just wear business suits rather than uniforms...
22 september worldwide protest against the corrupt new world order and RFID - Freedom not Fear, Vrijheid in Plaats Van Angst, Freiheit Statt Angst. Asking for every city to take part, not much time left. Please join in and spread the word.
No I'm just an ordinary member of the once silent majority who has had a gutful of all you left wing psuedo-intellectual halfwit ill mannered conspiracy theorist anti-government, anti-authority dirtbags....oh yeah and I'm a fan of Paul Keatings.

Find out why the 'boss' told them not to wear them, then get angry (or not) at him
Alpha1Bravo1Charlie1 4 years ago
I'm confused, who got angry with him?
SBDProductions 4 years ago
I'm telling people to not get angry at him. He's a good bloke just doing what he's told to do.
Alpha1Bravo1Charlie1 4 years ago
Yeah, that officer was a very friendly guy.
He didn't give us grief, we didn't give him grief.
SBDProductions 4 years ago
Well that's all these officers can really do. If ur nice to them, then ur going to be treated nice.

id reconsider what you just typed...lol a 20yr old next door a good guy walking down the street and he had the cp spray pulled on him and the pig says"you are intimidating" the young guy is tall and broad he cant help not bn a whimp as alot of the cops are of today, some of em think they are the law not to uphold it ;-P
ictossers 3 years ago
Bad frigging attitude. Calling him "pig" while he's trying to protect you and your family is a stupid way to project an argument. I don't know anything about the incident that you're talking about ,so I wont comment. But whatever, the police are trying to do the right thing, not the wrong thing. End of story.

omg have I hit a sore spot pigs are the one's who pull stunts because they just want to show thier status and thier own sick issues, the kid did nothing wrong so what mr bravo this justifies the capsicum spray,im from earth not uranus, opinions are as assholes we all have one ok

seriously protesters shit me to tears-if i was him i would mace that smart arse bitch who was obviously trying to be rude-the majority of those protesters show up cause they think its cool and somehow be attached to the '60's-protesting resolves shit all-you rekon that the world leaders will see a bunch unemployeed stuck up uni students gathering in the city and think 'hey...we should totally rethink out policies'-NO!
STAM6600 4 years ago 4
1) You're assuming everyone who was there was a Uni student. Wrong. There was a great cross section of the community.
2) You're advocating violence against someone for asking a cop a question. Great insight into your stunted mentality there.

-the police were trying to do there jobs
-the protesters were warned that ACTION WILL BE TAKEN!
-but the protesters had 2 push there luck
and the police had 2 enforce the law
dats just my point
soz 4 tha bad language
tokmaster 4 years ago
You're replying fropm a POV that protesters were there to misbehave. The point of the protest was to take advantage of a world stage to address important issues.
There was no mass riot or disturbance, with the exception of less than 10 people, everyone behaved.
The Police decided to order the removal of their name tags, and I decided to call the Commissioner on his lie the next day that no such order was given.

yeh im jus sayin dat tha protesters shud stop tryin 2 be smart arses n make them selfes look big
tokmaster 4 years ago
Actually, you make what you're saying very difficult to read and understand.
You're also saying that we should all just roll over and accept the fact that the police and those who order them can do what they like.
I strongly disagree.

Another violent and insulting comment from an obviously small minded individual.
It amazes me that people like you think speaking like this to people is acceptable.
And you're commenting on how calm the officer is. Ironic.

For a start the Police Officer in question is a NSW Police Officer. Not Australian Federal Police.
cboxx84 4 years ago
you stupid fuckwits can't even tell the difference between a nsw police officer and australian federal police. get a fucking clue before trying to act like you know shit. as much as i dislike the coppers i wish that guy punched that slut in the face.

It seems that he was polite, civilised and told you his name- wasn't there a case previously where a name tage was stolen and used to stab a police officer in the leg....
who201 4 years ago 2
No, it was suggested as a reason the next day by the Police Commissioner and by the NSW Premier.
But have you ever tried to kill a man with a velcro name tag?
Of course, by this logic, the Police should not be allowed to carry guns, batons or even pens. Just in case the highly trained and professional Police Force has their stuff taken off them by a bunch of unarmed hippies.
SBDProductions 4 years ago
Wasn't that the issue- they hadn't been issued velcro name tags (a mistake, but not the responsibility of the individual officers). And I believe it was during the same protests that marbles were rolled under police horses, that a senior police officer had his hard plastic nametag with a pin ripped out of his shirt and was stabbed in the leg with it
who201 4 years ago
I take it you have links to reports of these incidents?
Marbles were rolled under horses, an act I find disgusting by the way, in Melbourne at a protest a few years ago.
Also, you won't find any reports about horses at APEC because there were no horses, NSW was still having the horse flu epidemic during that time.
No police officer was injured during APEC with his own nametag. In fact, I challenge you to find an instance of this occurring anywhere at all.
SBDProductions 4 years ago
I am glad you said Senior Officers name tag as most ive seen your speaking to a number?actually I had an experience where one state officer thought being a smartass would change his name tag but he was the stupid one as I knew the SPO who bares that name,it didnt do the other much of a favour on my behalf as the name was that of a pig,
ictossers 3 years ago
What have the police got to do with your problems? It's not personal to them like it is to you. Speaking to one guy about his name just wastes your time. It was a pleasant suprise to see the media treat you lot with contempt during APEC. Even when complaining about the overzealous security nobody ever asked a lefty extremist for their opinions for a 6 o clock news bite. Thats because we're all sick of you and nobody cares anymore.

You've given up caring or being concerned about the future of the world you live in. I bet your sleep is one of blissful ignorance.
