you should meet and actually Train with JKA masters to appreciate how exceptional they actually are (compared to most martial artists out there). Kagawa is something else

BEST ANSWER on this subject: I do not like to get in the habit of saying one style is better than others. In regards to karate as a sport-I believe tournament compeition, that while it has some benefits, it does create a mindset and habits that will not work for actual combat. I also agree that when you can not attck the joints, eyes, throat, fingers, groin, etc that a true martial artist would not be able to effectively use their style.

very good. one of the few karateka that hasnt lost the importance of footwork with all techniques.. Ashi sabaki, tai sabaki and te sabaki in that order.. very good..

I have trained with Sensei Kagawa and although his demonstrations are awesome it's the smaller subtle things in his lesson that are so inspiring. If you ever get the chance to train with him don't miss out.
