His passing really surprised me. So very sad.

i've battled depression demons most all of my life. I wish there was a way to turn back the clock and talk Del though his dark night and not take the final walk. This footage tears me up, especially listening to his wife and seeing what tremendous opportunities were ahead. But that may have been part of the problem for him..

sometimes we only see what we want to see and not see the pain behind the eyes.Having all the money in the world does not bring one happiness....maybe he killed himself, maybe he didn't...the only one who knows is at peace....the one who did it , will have no peace...

i don't think that this was about depression and sometimes we just are not aware of how special the gift of life is.i think that del had a chemical condition that his affulence allowed him to not recongnize.i personally know of his early life and he was a handfull.coppersville,mi honors him now but hated him theni also was in LA in 89 and heard an interveiw with del.he sounded way up.what can i say?

I just don't get why anyone would want to commit suicide. I just feel like they don't care that they are hurting the ones they r leaving behind. I can say this first hand because I had a boy friend that i watched put a gun to his head 3 times and was successful on the third. so u see where i am coming from. i don't mean to hurt anyone's feelings at all and if i am I apologize, but I just couldn't understand why with "supposedly" the love of his life standing there he would choose to do that.

my brother comitted suicide too 26 yrs ago and he done it cause he couldnt handle all his problems and yes i remember it each day and miss him so much he would have been 76 now

Del is the greatest singer ever to me. He could sing the phone book in Russian and I would still get a lump in my throat....his rock on album is my fave ever...listen to "who left who" ......that song gives me the chills and a tear in my eye every time I hear it

the only one who knows is the person that burried his urn in someone´s backyard, who´s is unknown till this day, but he was hidden away by that person from all who loved him, like I did and still do,caro

it seems crazy to me that over all theses years no really good quality concert footage has ever arisen surely some must exsist somewhere.if not then thats tragic.Del was a one off who can never be replaced

You all may think, what does jeanet know about del shannon because iam 30 years old. I do this for my mother. She was a big fan of del shannon en she is still fan of del shannon. So She has no computer so i do this for her. What you read is from my mother. My mother wants to know where Del Shannon is baried.

and not down at all. we were about the same age, and had a lot to talk about, and it's something i certainly will never forget. very hard to watch this, i e mailed it to my son, who is still in a band, but not in florida. if anyone may have heard him speak of this, please write to me. i would like to know more. his death, wendy o williams, same thing, it's just so tragic. he truly was a very nice person. no puttin gon airs at all.

this is a true story, at around the time of his death, del actually called my home in florida, wanting to speak to my oldest son. at 1st i thought it was a joke, but it was really him. william was in a cover band at the time for stevie nicks. i did get to meet her, that's another story. del was wanting william for a drummer. i suppose, maybe he had seen him on the news, he never said, but he called 3 times. my son never talked to him, which of course he regrets now. he sounded very upbeat/next

Before the "oops, sorry about that" recalls of prescription drugs today, not too many people knew of the side effects of drugs like Prozac and other psychological drugs. I think Del Shannon was a victim of an anti-depressant. I have heard that with some drugs, maybe Prozac, people sometimes get an overwhelming desire to commit suicide. It is almost like a whim, or a craving.

@dustinblyt when they put a drug on the market they only test it on 50 people there are hidden side effects somebody else in here had a comment [i cant find ]that his wife had a law suit but didnt win because there wasnt any detecatable trace of prozac in his blood stream but some psychotropic drugs like LSD dont show up on blood tests
