  • I have a 1963 Chevy c 20 stepside and I was wondering how much the restoration cost ,please and thank you

  • @sammers213 depending on how you do things it can go from 20 to 50 grand

  • @sammers213 parts can run between 10 and 20 grand depending on if your engine runs you 800 or 5000 for the big fancy stuff and the about 500 hours in labor so depending on labor rate in your area.

    thanks dave

  • Beautiful:DD

  • @sammers213 thanks

  • @sammers213 It really is beautiful the only thing i see wrong with it it,s a chevy

  • sweet ride!

  • @trickey57 thanks

  • sorry i dont have any buyers at the moment but you should make a video of it and put it up. ill put it on my website for free if you like

  • im selling my 1961 chevy fleetback truck it needs to be restored i dont have the time for it anymore i need it gone im selling it for cheep it hase a 350 chevy motor for it the body is in good shape has a little rust i live in portland oregon message me on my channel for more info

  • Nice truck!

  • @FreedomMountain thanks

  • beautiful job...if only I could get my 60 apache c-10 to this point. GREAT congrats.

  • @kingfreeze thanks just keep watching the vids ill be showing bodywork and paint too soon

  • that's not a restoration, that's a rebuild. Not the right hood, but it does look nice!!!

  • You've done a BEAUTIFUL job!! This truck is awesome!! It cracks me up how many people are negative about the engine hood rather that just complimenting you on the finished product. What's a ball park figure on this & time frame did you take? Mine's a '61 stepside with it's original inline 6 bolted to a 2 sp auto. I want to rebuild the 6 to be mean as possible, change it to a manual trans and make alot of other changes. Any advice since you do it full time?

  • @whiteribbonman1 thanks this truck was built as a birthday present by mike for his father ron owners of custom asphalt here in socal. i only had 4 months to build the truck. it takes about 250 hours of mechanical work, frame, brakes, ele, etc, and about 250 hours to do the rust repair, fabrication, body work, and paint. so depending on labor rates in your area or how much work you can do yourself. engine trans rear end ele uphostry etc can run 10 to 20 grand depending on 450 hrs engine or used

  • @mobilehotrodrepair WOW, thank you, what an eye opener your description is! I'll be viewing your video for inspiration! I want to install hardware under the hood to make it open fully & close from inside the cab but I'm learning few people think as I do. I'm not into that hydralic stuff or making vehicles bounce around, but I AM into technology. First things first though, improve the drivetrain so I can drive it on the freeway. :) Is that Rhino stuff sprayed on the bed's interior walls?

  • @whiteribbonman1 its a bed liner kit that i get from my local finishmasters paint supplier. i also use it as undercoating and sound proofing. make sure that you buy the two part system. a system with a hardner the air dry does not work as well

  • Fn SWEET JOB!

  • @gmacpns thanks dave

  • Why did you put the wrong hood on it? It doesn't even look like a '61. What a waste of money.

  • Where did you find the headlight bezels?.. I got a 60 chevy step side and I'm having a hella of a time trying to find does stupid things!! lol

  • i love the truck, i have a '61 apache 20 3/4 ton 2wd and i love it. not to be stubborn or anything but that hood isnt a '61 hood, it's a '62-'66.

  • @raymondrmyers thats right its a 62 66 i like the 60 61 hood myself but i build to the customers likes

    thanks dave

  • @mobilehotrodrepair another thing ilike on the '60 and '61's are a small back window. im not sure if they are rare or not but i believe they are just because i dont see much of them. but i do agre with you that you should build and cutoize to your customers likings. -Ray.

  • nice vid mate. that truck is gorgeous!

  • Put a fan shroud on that thing! Its too nice to be stuck on the side of the road overheated.

  • i always install the largest radiator and water pump i can afford and so it didnt overheat but we installed new ele fan new pulleys and brackets soon to have new valve covers air cleaner etc. ill put up a new video of it up after.

    dave

  • Don't get me wrong, that is a sweet ride, Had a 61 Apache myself. I just knew Here in Texas were im located mine ran alot cooler with a full shroud. Mine was a custom with the chrome strip that went down the side and hooked back around to the back wheel opening. I like how yours looks with the smooth side though. Really like those wheels!

  • fan shrrouds are always a good idea and i did put one on just cant seem to find time to edit all the video

    thanks again

stay tuned i will be posting some soon

  • anyway the truck is awesome i love chevys

  • thanks wait till you see the stuff ive got coming up

  • that is a very nice pickup!!! I have a 66 and had a chance to buy one like yours very very cheap, however I never liked the Knee- Knocker style....then they started to grow on me.kind of kickin myself now.

  • you only hit your knees a couple of times before you learn. the 1960 to 1961 generally considered an ugly truck have become very popular and hard to find. 62 and 63 are getting tough to find too.

but now you know. o well next time.

    dave

  • tell me if im wrong but i believe that seat came out of a newer truck than 93 i think is from a 95 & up

  • i forget the exact year but they are basicly the same from about 1988 on up to 2001 i think

  • is your truck an apache or is it a c10 i have a 1961 with a 235 straight 6 also 4 on the floor but all the molding have been taken off so i cant tell if its an apache or a c10 and GM records only go back unil 70s or 80s so any help will be appriciated looks exactly like yours

  • chevy used the apache term from 1958 to 1961 or 62 then went with the c10 designation from there. so if its a 61 or 62 you have an apache but if its after you have a c10

  • dude i got a 1961 but i have a problem it came with a 305 but i also have a 350 5.7 and i got the parts to make it a 383 stroker but the 350 is in bad shape what should i do???

  • Nice Truck... Crappy modern seats. get a bench seat dude.

  • it is a bench seat. a modern one ill give you. its a bench seat from a 1993 chevy truck with a fold down arm rest. it basicly bolts in and gives you more leg room.

  • Is that the original frame? ...or was it a more modern one?

  • its the original frame but with a 76 to 87 chevy truck front cross member that gives you disc brakes and power steering it bolts in and is less exspensive than buying conversion kits

  • ...cool, I can see how this upgrade gives you disk brakes. Ok, but how does an '87 crossmember give you power steering?

  • most 76 to 87 chevy trucks came with power steering. you will need to buy the kit that bolts it to the frame but its only 60.00

  • what kind of engine??

  • it has a 350 engine with a 700r trans

  • aw man! I have a 63 and im trying to find an eyebrow hood somewhere. would have traded ya straight up!

  • i like the eyebrow too, but the customer liked the 63 to 66 hood better and i have to build it the way they like.

    dave

  • Is the hood a 61 or is it later . looks good.

  • the hood is not a 61. its from the 1963 to 1966 chevy

  • Very Nice Turck

  • thanks stay tuned i got more coming sood
