you are wrong buddy... I am a profesional producer and DJ... my basic as a pianist and keyboard player. And I created a lot of music with my laptop in various genre, from pop to trance. You can check my channel for videos, and it shows I'm using chords, melodies, feels, etc ..cheers.
I just dont understand minimal? Somebody explain to me why you think this is good? because i think its booring there are no melodies no chord progressions no vocals just bleeps stabs and shit load of monotony? How do I like minimal? :D
i dunno if he mentions it but could anyone tell me whats the mixer in the middle is, I'm starting to get into djing and i was wondering what it is called, Thank you
I'd rather produce some beats. Pretty interesting, but mixing really got boring for me years ago. This new digital world that's taking over vinyl is interesting though. It certainly peaks my interest a bit, but not enough to invest in something like that. It's lame that you don't even have to time the tracks anymore....just does everything for you...that was half the fun of mixing. And good luck scratching with those pads....lol...
forget about vinyl.. they're not going anywhere.. the challange of vinyl is catching the speed of bpm, and scratching .. thats it... but in digital mixing, demands a lot of options, we can create vary possibilities...
@orientalflux yeah yeah....forget about beat mixing, scratching, 3 or 4 or 5 or 6 table mixing.Forget about the art that started the culture, plug in your apple computer and let it do everything for you.
I also prefer vinyl DJing, but you must admit, technology goes on, new ways of mixing are created and you can do much more to create new sounds with digital mixing.. also, only few record labels release music on vinyls today, half of the electronic music are in digital now, never released on vinyls.. same thing with CDs..
so, I agree with Tomy, my namesake, Its much important which music you are playing then how you play it..
cutting edge in slovenia no doubt

@orientalflux If your music has no melodies, no chords, no soul, no funk....then of course, laptop mixing is the way forward.
