  • well made and very instructive video ! Unfortunately this solution wouldn´t work with my unit as I have installed a large passive copper heatsink...

  • hey dude does the hdd bracket come with the popcorn hour ??

  • @Johnny87Au The bracket doesn't come with the popcorn hour but you can pick them up at a computer retailer for around $8 check out newegg and search for 3.5" bracket.

Sorry youtube doesn't allow links in comments.

  • you'll also need some longer screws to be able to screw your U-bracket back into the bluray drive

  • Thanks for this video. Really helped and gave me the confidence to install a bluray drive into my c-200.

Coincidentally, I'd gone out and bought the LG Super Multi Blue too...then again, it does seem to be the best internal bluray drive on Amazon.

    Cheers!

  • thanks alot i've being looking for this

  • WOW!!! Thanks this should help in future.

  • since i got a bluray drive in my laptop i plan on just ripping them and dumping them to the HDD this is good for ppl not wanting to spend too much money on a BD player.

I got a PS3 for that in the first place. but as a media player than plays everything and this ...surely a bonus feature.

I hope Xtreamer can ad a update for that aswell when USB Bluray Drives come out hopefully with no Region Locking.

  • how about velcro and just stick it inside the top of the case!!!

  • ouch a hot hd obove the mobo , i would add a cooler

    otherwise a cool mod ;)

  • I modded your mod a little bit, using 2 of the brackets you use instead of one.

This increased the stability and the comfort mounting the HDD to the Bluray drive. On the other hand, this moves the hard drive even more away from the bluray drive...which was no problem for my installation, but I'll have to watch at the long term effects ;)

    Thx for your modding video

  • Is it possible to still hookup the 2.5" along with the 3.5" HDD if you wanted more storage...or do the connectors limit you to only one HDD?

  • @goldear5563 Yes, you can still hook up the 2.5" HDD for more storage. There is only 1 internal SATA port but there is an internal USB port so you will need a SATA to USB adapter for the second drive.

  • I haven't noticed any extra noise because of the setup. I do hear the hard drive spinning when it starts up but that is just the regular hard drive noise and by the time any volume comes on it is not noticeable at all. As for the disc drive spinning, the disc itself would prob make the most noise.

  • Question: Doesnt this make the device noisy? I mean when you enter a disc and play this, the harddrive will probably start to vibrate when i see it like this.

  • Cool
