He planted the pylon/gate to block the vultures. He killed the pylon incase Fantasy dropped the tank again and he had to put goons at that exp.

i think fantasy was researching vulture speed at the start of the video, and not siege tank, but i can be wrong anyway :D because the research was done before the factory was destroyed
