  • silly power lifters... You are just making your golden years that much more difficult.

  • nothing wrong with over-under, douche-bag !

  • NEVER the under hand over hand grip..just purely bad in all aspects of anatomy and muscle building

  • GUYS NO JOKE YOU CAN SEE THE BICEP GET FUCKED

LOOK CLOSELY AT THE RIGHT BICEP 00:46 THE THING CRAWLS UP HIS ARM!!!!

  • @adolfolicious holy shit that was crazy I saw that!

  • @adolfolicious of course we can see that... -_-' go search "justin bieber baby".... then u can see him sing the song too!!!

  • So has he done curls or not?

  • looks like it was too heavy maybe start out lighter 5, 10 pounds

  • what's with that haggard outfit

  • You could see it happen too if you watch his left bicep. Wow.

  • serious question: can that be fixed??

  • @BERNARDO7I2 It "fixes" itself, just needs time to heal.

A torn biceps is nothing "really" grave because at some point it will be as good as new but it hurts like a motherfucker and takes a really long time to fully heal.

Really bad would be for example a torn hamstring, because that thing will never be the same after you fucked it up...

  • curling was invented for a reason

not purely aesthetic, but for assistance in lifts like this

  • he'll be feelin that in the mournin!

  • that looked really painful

  • Comment removed

  • Oh snap! His deltoid tried to swallow his bicep!

  • @DreadfulControversy I LOLed. xD

  • shit lol... his bicep moved up like 3 inches

  • oh snap!

  • the socks dont look as cool now

  • yeowuch

  • ew

  • oh crap!

    Gives me the ibby-gibbie!

  • I never noticed any discomfort in my srists after hook grip deads with near max weight and no straps. I have worked as a mover for 3 years and have done manual labor my whole life so that might have heped my wrist, grip and forearm strength

  • Unlucky mate, but look at the bright side you could rip it out and throw it on the grill for some extra protein.

  • DAAAMMNN that Jazz guitarist is the tits

  • 0:35 spam for donkey kong country cave music ; )

  • That's what happens when you take steroids.

  • What a dick dropping the weights there are signs for this other people use the equipment faggot. Also what a pussy little muscles falling apart at 110kg yes thats the conversion for imperal wankers.

  • @AngloSaxonMMA lol very funny comment

  • "TODAY!!!" @0:12

  • Everyone put me down for doing double overhand. I'm so happy I didn't listen

  • flex your tris when you deadlift and youl be fine

  • @sjjdiienno1

That makes no sense. it wouldnt help you in any way...

  • @whatadoe the reason people tear there biceps in the first place is because they almost start to do a curl, but he weight's too heavy so it pulls your arm down causing the tear. if you try and flex your tris you wont flex your biceps and so preventing a tear from happening.

  • @sjjdiienno1 They tend to rip when people use steroids, he probably used some.

  • well he wont be jerking out of work like captain kirk with that arm any time soon lol

  • and now after a full recover phil is a 262.5 dead lifter

  • sshayne 1 yeah i did smell salts before this ??

  • was he sniffing salts before he went on ?

  • ooh man you actually hear it tear! and then pop up the way!!! ooh my god that is horrendous! but also kinda cool that it takes about a second and a half to realise. how does someone recover from that?

  • Was this what happened to Dorian Yates?

  • @sebbimon dorian tore the muscle belly, the tendon didn't detach from the bone. he did it doing bent barbell rows with an underhand grip(400+lbs).

  • yo snapped your shit up!

  • @kb1234567898 he bought himself a one way ticket to snap city eh!!

  • @kb1234567898 HODGETWINS BITCHES

  • @kb1234567898 HODGETWINS WARNED YOU !!

  • I have always used double overhand. I remember when I got stuck with an ATV, I tried to jerk it upwards and pull it sideways at the same time, then I felt a sting in my right bicep, guess what happened? :)

And I didnt even train for deadlift back then, I was 20yrs old so no age issues or anything.

Took me 1week to heal and 2weeks to be doing pull ups again, dont ever wanna tear my bicep again. I'm glad it was very minor :p

  • @duke3oh8 hahaa yeaah , I was jus sayin though . But it's all jus advice fellas :)

  • For a second i was about to call you pathetic for tearing a bicep deadlifting 245, then i realized it was in kgs not pound lol... Sucks man, Get better!

  • @illadelphia0891

Yes because 245 pounds is 5 45lb plates on each side

  • блеать

  • Snap city LOL

  • @TEEZYWEEZE you watch the twins too huh?

  • @duke3oh8 you mean muscletwinsworkout lol the hodrin or whatever they called

  • i will say that the one and only time i did try the reverse grip, it was easier to keep a lower position and utilize more of a leg drive.

  • for powerlifting (competition) i understand the reverse grip... it prevents the bar from "rolling" out of your hands... but i will never understand what casual lifters and bodybuilders have against the double over and use straps if necessary.... using absolutely perfect form you are still taking a pretty damn high risk of tearing the reverse side bicep... it is just an awkward position for that arm to be stretched like that...

  • @pt191145

    straps? just use a hookgrip

  • @aminoacids13... If you are capable of pulling the same weight with a hook grip and no straps as you could with them, then more power to you, I just find that when i forego the straps, i am too concerned with my grip to focus on the weight... ymmv

  • He snapped some shit up!

  • ur not suposed to try curl it silly

  • Late reaction

  • nasty i fuckin heard it

  • oh fuckkk

  • always the bicep with the underhand grip. Thats why i use a duble overhand hook grip

  • @nikolatesla08 i hope you enjoy your wheelchair when your 45

  • @JAM8132 The only different between double overhand and that one is it requires more grip strength using the double overhand...

  • @nikolatesla08 you're goddamned right. every bicep tear i have every seen, in person, has been from the underhand.

  • Comment removed

  • @nikolatesla08 youll be safe with that grip as long as you dont try and lift a small house

  • @nikolatesla08 w/ no straps? at this weight?

  • @nikolatesla08 yeah I think its better too, but if u have weak wrist joints (Quite a lot of people do actually! they don't do forearm curls and drags) then potentially, it could damage ur wrists. That's why I use straps as well.

  • @nikolatesla08 is that the safer way when deadlifting?

  • @bigbrown4114493 Yes. It takes time to get used to a hook grip, so since I'm not competing I just use straps. Overhand is always more safe, but it is limiting when it comes to heavy weight because it requires much more grip strength. That's why hook grip is so popular, because it doesn't require quite as much grip and you don't take as much of a risk of bicep damage.

  • mutha fucka load!!

  • Why did the bicep tear? His elbow was straight...

  • You can see it tear and he held it there for like half a second longer after it tore.

  • u cut ur muscle or the tendon was torn?should i stop pulling over under if i m not a powerlifter?

  • That looked unbelievably painful

  • Geez, you can see it.

  • i was expecting terrible form, looked ok. freak accident i suppose

  • i don't get it. i don't feel any strain in my bis when i dl.

  • @HelloKitty6666667 all warmed up and fine it was just something that happened, It was about a year ago now and i was back to competing at full strength after 8 months.in fact i hit a personnel best then

  • damn !!

  • def see his bicept move

  • Ouch

  • at 0:46 u can see blood under his skin on his biceps

  • I'm more of a strongman than a powerlifter and will likely end up tearing mine, too due to my inner drive being too strong for my training intellect but that is why I am against support gear. It sets you up to have other things fail that the gear can't help. Lumbar discs, rotator cuffs, and bicep tendons...these are what keep humans from being as strong as gorillas, said with some humor, of course.

  • it is a meet so prolly doin more than you can but double overhand at heavy weight is hard. It is very rare to have a torn bicep with mixed grip.

  • FUCK! BRUTAL

  • Lol lifestyle you gotta be a little kid or something this won't happen if you warm up and rest every other day to rejuvenate your muscles and not doing more than you can

  • Deadlifts seem dangerous. I'm going to avoid them..

  • @LifestyleTransformed

LOL is all I have to say.

  • @215Dave215 leme guess. Fatass irl?

  • @LifestyleTransformed Guess wrong.

You a pussy irl? Guessed right. Deadlifts aren't dangerous if you go double overhand and use proper form. Stretching and warming up adequately will obviously prevent things such as this too. If you avoid deadlifts, you loss. Enjoy staying small and weak.

  • @215Dave215 haha lil youtube troll

  • @LifestyleTransformed Keep telling yourself that, skinny 6'3 boy.

Tell any serious lifter that you don't wanna do deads. They will smack you in the face. Enjoy your limited goals of 2011.

  • @215Dave215 hmm fatass youtube troll orrrr in shape with reasons to live other than the internet? Ok u win bro. LOL

  • @LifestyleTransformed Yes, I do.

Now, for the sake of your manhood, don't say you're not going to do dead-lifts. Your back will never be as developed as it could be.

  • oh my motherfucking god. this make me shit my pants

  • do you even warm up?

  • why its always the left arm?

  • @Tiagor0drigues It's always the arm that underhooks the bar.

  • Bicep tear??? what bicer

  • @Pasalimani1966 His left bicep. You can even hear the popping noise.

  • @TrollingPatrolling hahahahahahha the fuck

  • Just ripped mine last night. how long was your rehab, and did they splint or cast after fixing.

    Thanks

  • ouch. . . . you could actually see it tear. i think you could even hear it

  • So basically his bicep muscle ripped and got ''disconnected'' from the elbow?

  • GROSS!! I heard it!

  • when i deadlift with this grip my arms are totally straight, i dont contract my bicep at all, its like the bar is just hanging from my arms and i lift with legs and back....

  • ouch!

  • Don't use this grip. You see a lot of this.

  • Thats why i always go double overhand

  • @GreenPhazon

    Agree its harder but safer.

  • @GreenPhazon That's not what causes it. A bend in the elbow (causing you to unnecessarily use your bicep) is what causes a bicep tear during a deadlift.

If you are doing double overhand, then your deadlift weight is limited by your grip strength.

  • @GreenPhazon lose grip that way though don't you?

  • @triplestep1829 A bit, but double overhand it better for bodybuilding which is my goal. It works on your forearm strength alot more as well. Going one over and one under is much more powerful though. Ideal for power lifting.

  • @GreenPhazon If you deadlift for your fore arms, yes

  • geez I shouldnt watch these, makes me scared I'm gonna rip a tendon doing deadlifts tomorrow

  • @zachman0808 haha! seriously. now im worried about tearing a damn muscle! at least he got the lift. lol

  • too bad!

  • How do you avoid this? Is there any way of strengthening the tendons?

  • @Ebvardh

If you do often high reps deadlifts and biceps workout with more reps you can minimize a biceps torn.

  • @MidnightStar1000

    Thanks.

  • @Ebvardh When you do a bicep curl concentrate on the negative part of the rep, sometimes holding it halfway for as long as you can, muscle is easy to build but tendons and ligaments take longer to strengthen. By doing this it will help strengthen them and hopefully avoid a bicep tear.

  • @jasonfish07 Thanks.

I've actually done this recently and I've noticed it feels significantly different.

I do feel a little more work being done in the tendons.

  • @jasonfish07 the reverse grip in a deadlift increases the change to tear the bicep. just do a normal grip with both palms facing you.

  • @Ebvardh dont use a reverse grip. do a normal grip with both palms facing you... ALWAYS MAKE SURE YOUR ARMS ARE STRAIGHT.

  • ouch, you can see his bicep move.

  • Nasty!
