  • -But can it blend?

    -Yes.

    -.........

  • This is cool. Why is there so many dislikes?

  • Não entendi nada.

  • Thumbs if your computer froze after vid

  • do it again i wasnt watching! >.>

  • I have a blender WHIRLPOOL simulation that took 14.8gb of RAM to bake. if you guys liked this I think you might think mine is cool too.

  • Is the mesh that is causing the water vortex animated and then set as a control?

  • If I bake any higher I get errors. I couldn't help but laugh.

  • I'm... thirsty now...

  • Inside is a really powerful magnet with a motor with another magnet under the table.

  • @TopGun904 mmno.. this is a computer generated animation of relatively high quality showing a vortex in a sphere of water, that's about it.. no magnets or motors needed, no magic either ;)

  • excuse a noob, but what is this?

  • Ok. cool now i get it!

  • woooooooah

  • i can do 150, or mabey high but itll crash at 200, ive never tried any inbetween before

  • ...and every other company in existance :D

  • Most companies cares for their consumers, though.

  • Blender is shit with that.

  • I can has .blend??

  • That's amazing! Just one question...how?!

  • Within the next twenty years person computers will be able to render this in real time.

  • actually, it already happened.

    lol realitme animated water exists

  • where?

  • not with that resolution

  • i know cant wait the future will be tight

  • did you use the vortex thing in the physics button?

  • id like to see this in a slower version

  • how did u get it to spin? like revolve did u like rotloc it or sumthin or ....

  • Probably just coincidence.

  • Could be the vortex property being applied to some object...

  • True...

  • ever heard of that incredible Blender property called "control particles"?

  • cool

  • Looks real, but it's not. It's extremely awesome animation.

  • wuddya mean csant bake higher than 80 I can go upto 200 on a 1GB box. (theoretically). Sweet BTW.

  • I meant for this particular simulation I couldn't go over 80. Most other things I can bake at up to 230. (See my response to agent47crows.)

  • @LightOfTheValar how could you max @ 230? Was there a problem with the blender build 2 years ago or did your computer just plain suck?

  • wow

  • wow what a great idea

  • turn of your shadow and osa in your scene tab

  • Dude!

I have a solution for your errors!

Increase your RAM. If you can't, go to My Computer, properties, and increase your virtual RAM if you have spare HDD space. I think it is in the Advanced tab, performances or something.

I do not know right now, since I currently have XP in French!

  • The problem isn't my amount of RAM, it's just that the vortex is incredibly CPU intensive. I have 2 GB of RAM and baking at res 80 doesn't even take up 1 GB, but the 100 frames of the animation took overnight to bake!

  • What kind of compuer do you have?

And how did you DO that?

  • 3.2 Ghz P4 (HT)

    2 GB DDR2 533 Mhz RAM

Basically it's just a giant blender, there is a small paddle in the bottom spinning at 3,000 RPM. (2 full rotations per frame at 25 FPS.)

  • Ok, that's strange... hum... Did you use any soft shadows and area lamps?

Because I cannot possibly see what the problem is.

    That was for residu usage.

  • This is for baking.

Does it sometimes bake real low res sims real slow? Like, waiting about a minute to bake a frame or so, but normally doing it OK?

Then try rebooting. It happens to me, at least on 3 computers. It just takes too long every now and then.

Mostly for aberant fluid/obstacle positions. I just stands there, doing about nothing. I return in 3 hours, it reached the 5th frame, and when I reboot, it does the whole trick in 5 minutes.

  • There's nothing wrong with my computer, it's so slow because there is a massive amount of water(1.5 m sphere) moving VERY quickly, both things that tend to do bloody murder to your bake times, no matter the resolution.

  • Wow. Well, that's big then!

  • wow cool abit too quick though maybe for me

  • It's not too quick, I have the correct start and end times.
