  • Very nice installation. Everything is well placed and packaged.

  • I need a copy of the template for the 966 battery tray

  • Impressive !!

  • Hey mate there is a kit from speed passion it's only single speed. I made this car from many different components see my coments thread for where to buy all the parts. It is a worthy build and great fun to drive well worth building. If you need the bottom battery plate template happy to scan and email full size template that drops straight in, all you need is the carbon fiber blank from 3 racing. Tekin esc and 1700 kv motor runs all day on 6s and no heat. Mail me for more help if you need martyn

  • hey hows it going wondering where i can get this electric conversion kit thats 2 speed like yours please let me know

  • The battery straps are from 3 racing.

The carbon fiber battery tray was a 3.5mm blank

And patterned to fit the bottom part of the chasis. I can scan and send

The pattern template if you intend to fit on a 966.

  • @dreadscreen I would like to set my serpent 966 up like your. can i get part number and template please.

  • were did you get the battery holder

  • were do you get the battery holders

  • I wish there was a class for 1/8 onroad electric :(

  • nice build!

whats your total car weight? my 6s setup is about 500g heavier that the gas-powered version.

do you think the mechanical brake and 2speed is really necessary for an electric car? mine works fine so far without it.

  • OMFG!!!

  • Hi, how could you set the mechanical brake? isn't the motor diameter too big? doesn't it touch the brake disc?

What is the diameter of that brake discs? thanks

  • Comment removed

  • @mazzappivs As he stated, the brake disc diameter has been reduced sufficiently to clear the motor's body. Laser cutting was mentioned, that's not really necessary (not easy to find companies that will do one off cost effective CNC machining). Therefore, I would opt for a traditional approach and make it by hand to save money. As for measurements, that's common sense ditto your other queries.

  • where did you get the two speed pinion at?

  • @5crossyourlip

Two speed 5mm adaptor is from rc monster USA you can also buy the screw on pinions in various sizes , I run 18 and 22 . currently out of stock I buy as soon as they have them for my electric kits now selling conversions for 960/966 mugen etc.

  • @dreadscreen Where from can I order such a conversion kit for a Serpent 960 ? Thanks

  • is this car not to heavy with additional servo, break etc.?
