first, I would never use a line array for rooms like I saw in the last clip, less is more in the djing world, especially for MOBILE gigs. I wonder how loud it got, it seems pointless to have that kind of system without being outside, and without having a band. For DJing this is very unnecessary. 12" and 15" boxes with 18 or 21" subs would be fine, if people hire you guys just to have that look, and they were impressed by it, they are fools. It had to be really loud, and obnoxious looking.
@sonidoelpicudo For starters I live in the UK, so that's no use to me I'm afraid. My comment isn't related to your sales technique - the fact is that a two box "line array" just doesn't work. It's not a line array. The whole point of a line array is so that the boxes couple together - besides, you'd get what, 15 degrees of vertical dispersion with 2 decent line array boxes a side?
Um,, does the place still have a roof? And whats with the Winch Ups. Did you steal them from a U2 Concert ? lol. Seriously, the only people who would want that at thier wedding would have to be in the industry. wouldnt they? But hey. Nice system all the same :)
YOU RIGHT MY FRIEND!! looks you have good knowledge on pro sound, your comment is very good not only for us, but for everybody, in this industry. we lear everyday.
There is an upside however. Having experienced the pain of many weddings, less sound at the back of house can be an advantage as poor old grandma wont be complaining and drunk uncle harry can still chat up the bridesmaids. :)
@DJTRENTEN like regular speakers are not high quality sound.. it's all linearrays these days , but when it is a bit windy outside, your sound litterally blows away.
@dorplein62 Ya regular speakers are high quality but there are point soucre speakers so they are directed to one point in the room some times not filling the whole room. Line arrays make a nice even coverage area.... and all speakers have troubles out side wether you use point soucre or line arrays.
@DJTRENTEN point source speakers do have a wide coverage angle depending on the horns used in them...
Offcourse ,every speaker has trouble outside , but if you have several stacks of normal cabs you can make a wider dispersion than with just one line array ; i.e. : wind blows , sound of the line array blows away , with the stack you would just hear an other stack than the one pointed at you.
it's a shame that line arrays are used for anything these days..
@dorplein62 ya true if you get a nice size stack you can get a coverage range that is simalliar to a line array... in this video he should never use that system at a wedding it looks stupid with those big crank stand. thats somthing you use for a school dance or a concert not a wedding.
ingnorant people want to see lots off speakers not just a pair boxes that would fill the room with a nice and clear sound. thats how most hispanic are..
I show up to a place with apair of vrs932la no low transducers the guy wanted to kill me but later at nigh he was so happy he told me so an apologise. and his weeding look like a weeding not like rolling stones concert... lol

bad use of a line array , a line array is designed for long ranges , not for a room.

Yeh.. tho some have a wide throw. Then again the top boxes would just be bouncing off the back wall.
