Great experience! My video of the charging grizzly was very close also. We had a few separate close encounters. We were in Katmai also camping for three days. A beautiful, but dangerous area. Pretty cool. We had no protection of any kind. When bears walked right to us, we all stayed planted and didn't run. I was planning that I could outrun the others in my group if necessary. And, I might put a submission hold on the bear's leg if possible. YIPEE KAI YAY. Glad she survived!
You are so dramatic! The bear didn't charge it noticed her and turned to take a few steps. If it charged it would have took down the fence. I don't think people dislike your video as much as they dislike your over dramatic description of what happened. Caged bear is curious about my daughter is a more appropriate title. Oh and I'm sure most people don't enjoy it as there are 46 dislikes and 9 likes..... wait I haven't voted yet, make that 47 dislikes!
For real! "OMG that bear is so scary hes gonna jump the fence and eat my daughter." Bear just chills. "OMG look at that bear!" Really bitch. Fucking over-protective shit!
@username1000times Old Hag! that bear wasnt even close to getting your kid If that bear wanted to get your kid it would have smashed that fence down and done so.
@username1000times I feel bad that people are posting such nasty comments, I guess that`s the thanks you get for sharing a nice video with these ungrateful morons.. But I`m sure most people enjoyed it
"He wanted my girl in a big way". This statement sounds self evident and yet you pushed her toward the fence. Asinine video, sorry, I am not trying to be rude but this video is mildly disturbing.
When a bear sways its head, or chatters its teeth, or huffs with their mouth open, it means they are agitated and about to charge. Never underestimate the powers of a bear, they run faster then a car, (35 mph?) If you come in contact with a bear, play dead, if it bites while playing dead, fight back or you will die. Always huddle up in a fetal position with your arms and hands covering your neck. (make sure its wraped all the way around your neck. Never surprise a bear. Sing if on a trail with 1
You play dead, I'm going to follow the more recent studies that tell you to headbutt that big bastard as hard as you can...or stay behind my electric fence with my dogs and my gun :).
And yea if it was an actual zoo with wild animals obviously the bears area would be harder to break out of. But from what I understand this bear came from an owner who didnt take good enough care of it. Meaning it was at least partly tame. Plus even a wild grizzly that would be more likely to try and break out woudnt try to (and probably succeed) unless it was in danger and freaked out.
To all you people saying "rednecks" or "the bear wasnt trying to eat her-your dumb" arnt that bright. Yea the bear probably wasnt trying to eat the girl but also realize that if it wanted to that bear could EASILY tear its way through both fences. That bear's strength is far beyond a silverback gorillas which can be as strong as up to 8 olympic weightlifters. The bears like 2 gorillas in one.
Basically yea its understandable that they'd be freaked out regardless of what the bear was thinking.
i agree that would be a bit scary. But if the bear was agressive they wouldnt have it at an animal sanctuary. The bear was just playing with her. I call this a bear video with an over protective mother.
Hm..i do agree i would be nervous if i had my child with me but i think the bear..um thought that she had food. Did she have a flower. I dont think he actually charged..or she.
@devastator44: you got that right. Unsupervised derelict teenagers writing the troll flaming crap on this wall I imagine. No sane adult would talk shit like that about a child that's for sure. What's frightening is one day these little shitbags will have their own children, and will see firsthand how it feels when someone's shit-talking about their own children.
This place isn't actually a zoo, it's an animal sanctuary down in FL called Rosaire's. They rescue animals that *don't belong in private homes in the first place*, and they raise money to take care of them by allowing the public to come in and see the animals for a reasonable fee. These people are rescuing and saving animals, I was glad we were able to contribute to this cause, even if the bear scared me a bit.
Someone, likely the original "owner", had been hand feeding this animal. That wasn't a charge, it was curiosity about the twig your girl was holding in her hand.
Beautiful, healthy animal, though. They must do good work at this sanctuary.
@wwejheaton hey troll tard, how DARE you call my daughter "stupid" you piece of shit. I'd like to see you stand in front of that huge bear, fence or no fence, and not get a bit freaked out. Especially if you had a child with you. I pity any children you may produce in the future, to think you would ever be so rude and horrible towards a child especially one that you don't even know. Screw off, buddy.
@cincinatus90 They're just little sh*tbag teenagers, probably. Trolls. I liked this video because it showed how the big bear saw my little one as a snack, and ran right over to her. Bears are amazing, and this bear was just doing what he'd do in the wild.... seeing a little easy snack he charged for her. Though I was nervous, it was a cool thing to see firsthand. I'm trying to just tune-out the idiots talking sh*t, they're only young punks.
Wow there sure are some disrespectful people on here. You know someday her daughter is going to be old enough to read the things people are saying about her on here.
@QtanaZ You must be from a country other than America . Go head and visit the backwoods of Kentucky , become part of a family and I guarantee you will be banging your new sister in a week . THAT . Is redneck .
What kind of "zoo" was this? The zoos I've gone to have metal bar fencings and are impenetrable in anyway.
A measly wire cutter can rip through that fence.. more less a grizzly bear. Unfunded zoos really don't go a long way in protecting the lives of the people.
@BobandNorm Let me through you in there with that bear and see how "curious" he is, too many fucking idiots like you in the world, that animals objective throughout his lifetime is to eat, and eat anything it thinks it can over power. It thinks it can over power the little girl so he got exited when she got close. Tired of you animal lovers, you take it too far and think you can walk among animals like this, then you pay with your life, perfect!!! I love it when I hear stories like that.
yes; lets put ur daughter in front of the huge ass bear behind the cheap fence that he seems to have no clue exists, to prove a point about how he wants to eat her!! and after u wait for what seems like decades u say "lets get her away, i don't like this.." ??? i think letting her reach out to a hungry bear who just pounced at her makes it seem like u don't really consider ur daughters safety until she is actually hurt.
@QtanaZ Thank you, I was so in need of the amusement you so graciously provided me with this evening. Rednecks from Greenwich Connecticut. Why, if that isn't the most amusing thing I've heard today.. Simply precious! You my dear are a gem.
@IRIE4IPIER People who go see an animal at a zoo are fucking idiots, then, to you. So you've never gone to a zoo then? That is why you see this bear on the internet and not in real life. You're afraid you won't live to troll the internet again. Yep.
@BettiePie No, it would be on my conscience. Um, the bear within his stronger fencing was nowhere near the whimpy fencing, was many feet away from it. Bears don't have Inspector Gadget arms which grow to reach a fence many feet away. If that bear somehow charged his main fencing and was able to get past it, it wouldn't matter if my daughter was outside or inside that whimpy fence, had her arm or hand on or in it, it wouldn't have made any difference.
@23jedimaster23 What are you even talking about? Put down the crack pipe and step away!
But seriously dude, what are you so angry about? I was glad we were able to see this bear doing what a bear does... they go after small fast-moving critters and eat them, and it seemed this bear thought my 3 year old was a snack. I'm not mad at the bear, it was doing what bears do! It was an interesting experience to see it, and I was glad to get it on video. I absolutely love bears.
@23jedimaster23 Put down the crack pipe and step away! what are you even talking about?
This was a bear doing what bears do, I enjoyed the experience even if it was a little unnerving... but it's what bears do, they hunt after little fast-moving critters, and my little 3 year old looked like a snack. I was glad to witness it safely, and happy to get it on film, a bear just being a bear. I love bears.
@23jedimaster23 First of all, you can go doink yourself for that shit comment about my not-annoying sweet innocent little 3 year old child. Secondly, I do think if this bad boy could have got at my daughter, she would have been his prime food that day. A little kid looks like a little snack of course... a little something to nibble on. No biggie, I'm sure they fed him this day and every other day.
we went to the zoo the other day and their young cougar was so interested in a little toddler running around... almost like a house cat that wanted to play with a smaller animal..
I believe the bear was actually intrigued by Evelyn's food but that would not have meant a lot if he could have reached her. Thank God he could not. :)
@gcollin75 The chicken wire was useless against the bear... I think it was just there to keep insane people from reaching right through the fence and having their arm torn off by the bear possibly. It was just to keep people back.
Maybe you should teach your little rat not to taunt animals.
