This game isnt THAT bad. Ok, its short and has some bugs. but online, with friends, you can have some fun for round about 10-15 hours. Fast action gameplay, looting and the arena level and the bossfight are funny. its playable. its "OK". 6,5/10 my opinion, but 1200 MS points are to expensive for that game. 800 point would be ok.
this is hack and slash, that is only named after dnd. for a game to be an rpg, it should have a deeper story, than: evil wizard builds tower. glowing chick spawns random dudes, orders them to slay the wizard, then vanishes.
@333Lithium333 Don't worry about it, the ending sucked. But what you need to do is once you shoot up the two claws and head of the dragon, it will make a flame wall. Then the dragon will fly up in the sky and the flame wall will drop. You then run passed where the flame wall was and hit the use button next to Rezlus and that will take you to the next cut scene with you jumping on the dragons back where you try to reach it's head to stab its eye out.
@333Lithium333 Well congratulations! It took me a while to figure it out too. To be honest i hate games that are tricky like that thats why for me the ending of this game sucked. The game its self was very basic and i expected more from a D&D game.
It seems to me from what I've read that it's going to be a good rental game for the weekend with a friend, but, not one to spend your hard earned cash on.
@TherianthropeAndrewH Yeah the character selection is disappointing, just 4 pre-set characters to choose from, I'd have preferred to be able to create my own character but beggars can't be choosers! They have said they plan to release further updates if it is successful, maybe they will add more classes then, here's hoping.
Vyperius is totally right. There are waaay too few local coop games for the Xbox360 and Xbox in general. They make great game night fun for a group of friends and we've played every Gantlet game on the Gamecube and Xbox to death. I wish this market would get more attention. Daggerdale will make for many a fun night.
@avatarion - For all you know the entire ruleset from D&D could be baked into the game engine.
In only 30 seconds of gameplay, I saw the following D&D elements:
* A class system
* A halfling and an elf
* Hold action
* A level system
* Tumble
* Critical Hit
Neverwinter Nights is the closest you will ever get to pure D&D in game form, and even after that amount of polish it was obvious that D&D game mechanics are not well suited for anything but tabletop gaming. Barely even that, in my opinion.
@avatarion warhammer has an mmo and warhammer 40,000 has an fps and a 3rd person shooter hack'n'slash being made. Games franchises don't have to stick to just one style of gameplay.
@avatarion The devs have said it's based on 4th edition D&D rules as much as they can, but they have streamlined some of the rules and abilities so it works smoothly as an action hack and slasher.
@vyperius haha bullshit. I actually play 4th edition with a bunch of friends and a teacher. and this is nothing like it, DnD is all about making up your own character, making your own adventure and playing the way you want to!
not being limited to 4 classes that arent customizable, I play as a half-ling sorcerer and its fun to see people walk up to me like, aww whos a cute little guy, then I blow his brains out with a fireball.
@mitch13815 I think they just mean that lots of the moves in the game are based on attacks and powers from 4e. But one of the characters is a halfling wizard lol.
Looking forward to this!! There are so few local coop dungeon crawlers on the xbox, this looks a lot like baldurs gate dark alliance which me and my missus played to death. It's an Xbox Arcade game so I'm guessing it will be 800 or maybe 1200 points.
@vyperius Oh you actually like how they did it for Fable. See I'm the opposite. I like splitscreen but yeah im not sure if i like the way Hunted does it. I don't do much local co-op though, mostly online with my friends.
@millertime6888 Yeah I find having half a screen a bit too limited. It also encourages players to wander off in different directions, not much point playing coop if you only see your partner once in a blue moon!
@vyperius I agree but Hunted is designed around co-op in the sense you must work together. I don't know how to link on youtube comments but I'll try to just with spaces. Just copy paste this in your address bar and where there is a space add .com
My prediciton for this game is that it will be released this month (or atleast its meant to be released this month), it will crawl under the radar for 6 months & then be consigned to the bdget bin as one of those D&D games no one gives a shit about. This a combination of Turbine & Cryptic.... Turbine the people who tried to fuck up DDO & Cryptic the people who have fucked up every game they have ever worked on.
@osamabinash I disagree, I liked, EOB, TOEE, Darksun, Pretty much any blackisle forgotten realms title, Planescape Torment, almost all of NWN series, and even DDO, which were all fine PC games. And for console I didn't think the baludurs gate action rpg games were that bad at all.
@kukularz I have yet to find an RPG that was so bad that I wasn't even driven enough to finish it. NwN was still pretty bad as far as D&D games go, it was neither story driven nor hardcore rollplay (not a typo). It was, in fact, one of the very few games where I got tired of it in the middle of the second run and deleted it. NwN2 was slightly better but the rules implementations had (and still have) some very frustrating quirks, not to mention all of the NPCs are as antipathic as they can get.
@Hanatash My biggest gripe with NW2 OC is its encounter design, that is, there was none, they just added platoons upon platoons of the same generic NPC.
The infinity engine exelled at this though, most encounter was tailored to its specific place on the level, and there was allways lots of variation in monsters and enemy NPC's
Man I loved NWN I played that thing for hours...complained at it's cons...beat it...played again...then enjoyed the hundreds of new classes from the mod kits
@Dakarne Neverwinter Nights was never a good D&D adaptation, the game was horrible up until the second expansion and the implementation of rules was satisfactory at best.
Probably the best D&D adaptation was Temple of Elemental Evil but the game was a bit too hardcore for the general crowd.

@tomroxelf Of course ive tried it, you point the curser at the enemy, and click to watch the outcome, occasionally pressing a key for a special ability, its boring and repetitive
@tomroxelf Well to me the combat disconnected from the player. You can manually swing a sword such as in say, devil may cry, you click, then after a few seconds later or when the character WAITS for the enemy to attack it you then attack. its all just blatant dice rolling and that personally isnt appealing to me. im not trollin its just my opinion. continue this discussion if you wish i find your point of view interesting.

@Theicemonkeyjr it's your opinion but you don't know what the concept "dice rolling" is and if you know you are missusing it in WoW's case
in this case you are basing your argument on an error and for that is why you are wrong
call it grinding or automated battle system if you want but it's anywhere near a dice rolling as such find a better concept and rethink about it
no im not trying to change your point of view just your misconceptions
