Stand up elbow is so effecive, I dont understand why its not very common in mma, I mean in most mma fights you see alot of good short punches and knee strikes from the clinch but not many elbows.

because they're great weapons to throw they dont want to injure fighters. In the ring its a sport people make a living off it. If it was on the streets and survival or war....smash somebody's head it with a good elbow and they'll get maimed or something worse...!

That's how fighting was back in the early days of MMA... Fighters like Ken Shamrock and Frank Shamrock fought when there were no or very little rules. yea back of the head shots aren't good... can cause serious injury
