@jethro3232..I re-post my comments on drunkness here"Jesus came and expanded on the implications of the law..it does not mean that when the word drunkness is not found in the 10 commandments. means it is not sin or in your own argument that the law is done away with..just as lust for a woman (which is not written in the commandments) is equated to adultery such is drunkeness which leads to debauchery..
@jethro3232 ..oh I see..you feel like you're teaching little kids...I guess you're teaching the wrong kind of kids..Kids that understand scriptures better than the teacher!
You faid the test ....... matthew 5:17..... Do not think I have come to abolish the Law or the Prophets I have not come abolish them but to fulfill them..... Luke 24:44.... He said to them This is what I told you while I was still with you : everyting must be fulfilled that is written about me in the ( Law Of Moses the Prophets and Psalms ) ....... so go sacrifice a animal for ur dog poop in ur neighbor yar please
Luke 24:44..... He said to them, This is what I told you while I was still with you : Everything must be FULFILLED that is written about me in the LAW OF MOSES the Prophets and the Psalms...... WHAT DID JESUS SAY HE CAME TO DO ? Anybody ?
@jethro3232 save it my friend...your attempt to justify fulfill as to mean to do away with fails the test of scriptures!...I remember you saying in another post that you believe that the law was not abolished...dude I'm wondering.. umm.. what do you really believe?
@desmonddesmond..in Matt 5:20 ..except ones righteousness exceeds the Pharisees one cannot enter the kingdom of heaven..the Pharisees determined their own righteousness according to tradition..they set their own standards! the only thing that exceeds their righteousness was Christ and his law - Psalm119:137 "Righteous are you, O LORD, and your laws are right.
@upholdingthetruth I guess it's just your own idea that the "law" in Matthew 5:18 refers to the Ten Commandments only as Jesus' idea of the "law" was that it included all the commandments given in the Old Testament. Proof: Matthew 12:5 “Have you not read in the LAW how the priests on temple duty can break the Sabbath rest without incurring guilt?” (Matthew 12:5). Now, this part of the "law" concerning the priests is absent from the Ten Commandments.
@mrdesmonddesmond ..Wrong my friend!..please don't use Matthew 12 out of context...
your use of Matthew 12:5 to give credibility to the fact that the Sabbath had been desecrated or its desecration by Priests was not in the law is an illusion..Jesus was
broadening the implications of the Sabbath..read vs 12.."Therefore it is lawful to do good on the Sabbath.” obviously God (Jesus) is saying this words..because in vs 8 he said "For the Son of Man is Lord of the Sabbath.”.
@jethro3232..dude, just because a word is not found in the commandment does not mean the commandment is obsolete..that is kindergarten mentality!..Jesus has broaden the understanding of his commandments..
@jethro3232..Jesus came and expanded on the implications of the law..it does not mean that when the word drunkness is not found in the 10 commandments. means it is not sin or in your own argument that the law is done away with..just as lust for a woman (which is not written in the commandments) is equated to adultery such is drunkeness which leads to debauchery..
Ill give u more so I won't leave them all out ........ galations 5:19-21..... acts of flesh are obviouse : sexual immorality , impurity and debauchery, idoltry , witchcraft , hatred , discord , jealousy, fits of rage , selfish ambition , dissensions , factions and envy , drunkenness and orgies and the like ........ so where is drunkness in 10c ? Anybody ?
Galations 5:16.... So I say walk by the spirit and you will not gratify desires of the flesh..... what is the desire of the flesh :19 idolatry and drunkness ...... so where is drunkness on 10c please anybody ?
Stubbornness...... well if you have self control like the fruit of the spirit then you won't be stubborn but its all good u can keep ur $5 or give it to a poor man .....
@jethro3232 1 Samuel 15v23 .... stubbornness is as iniquity and IDOLATRY. Stubbornness is idolatry - I'd of never thought that on my own. You asked me where in the 10 commandments drunkenness is. Anybody??
I guess you love to steal .... lol by all means ..... then I guess you you don't have kindness in your spirit ..... c now show me on the 10c drunkness cause god said drunkness won't enter heaven but y'all live bt the 10c so . Your opinion fell flat.... c everytime u hear commandments ur brain switches to the 10c.... show me on the drunkness on 10c please by all means .....
@jethro3232 - "I guess you love to steal" - Why? Is stealing wrong?
- "c everytime u hear commandments ur brain switches to the 10c" - Everytime you hear 'thou shalt not steal' your brain switches to the 10 C's nailed to the cross. I'll give you $5 if you tell me what commandment 'stubbornness' breaks. - Then I'll steal my $5 back. I see you still haven't learned to drop comments in our inboxes, unless it's that you just don't want to.
@CoveBulldawgs@jethro3232..has not proven that the law has been done away with..in Matthew 5:18 "For verily I say unto you, Till heaven and earth pass, one jot or one tittle shall in no wise pass from the law, till all be fulfilled..he was left bemused to know that heaven and earth is still here!..just letting you know the reason why he diverts for scriptural reasoning!
@upholdingthetruth How could the law in Matthew 5:18 refers to the Ten Commandments only as in the next verse "one of the least of these commands" is mentioned? So which is the least (i.e. the least important) of the Ten Commandments & which is the most important one and why?
@mrdesmonddesmond my friend..Matthew 5:18 refers to the ten commandments.. he starts to expand on the commandment in vs21, 22 thou shalt no kill..vs27, 28 thou shalt commit adultery.. which stands out!..it's common sense!..nothing is least important in the commandment...the word least was alluded to when the pharisees added so many rules to seemingly cloak themselves with righteousness renderiing the law of God least..see next post!
Hahaah don't confuse yourself...... if you have love kindness joy and gentleness you have to show it by helping people ..... if someone needs a dollar give them 5 if they need a shirt give them a jacket to don't just say I'm going to pray for you and leave ..... works works works ..... works of the fruit of the spirit
See your problem is you don't understand ............. do you go u go out and sin like the devil Sunday through Friday and just do good on Saturday or do u do good evertday of the week ?................
@jethro3232 Is there some reason why you think obedience to God's law is against the workings of the Spirit? Being "under the law" and "obeying God's law" are different concepts.
Amen bro when u except christ he cloths you with his spirit and the works of the law is finished ..... christ finished the law so when he cloths you your works of the law is done also ......
@jethro3232 and @game11221..David was imperfect..yet his words were included in the holy canon..EGW was imperfect yet she never said that she was above the bible!..dudes her counsels live on no matter what you do!..
@jethro3232 and@game11221..Words of a wise man...Proverbs 7:2; "Keep My commandments and live; and My law as the apple of thine eye."...this is why you are blinded..you have not kept his commandments as the apple of your eye!!
@upholdingthetruth Luke says he was taken up, "after that he through the Holy Ghost had given commandments unto the apostles whom he had chosen." Acts 1:2. If Jesus gave commandments through the Holy Ghost, would they not be the commandments of God?Now hear Paul as to what are the commandments in the gospel: "If any man think himself to be a prophet, or spiritual, let him acknowledge that the things that I write unto you are the commandments of the Lord." I Cor. 14:37
@jethro3232 what's funny about that..you have not once proved to me that the law has been done away with!.. read the posts of @game11221..who you diligently worship..he agrees that the law still exists..he is an ex- adventist my friend and he understands what I'm talking about!!
@upholdingthetruth 3:4 "the Law was put in charge to LEAD us to Christ. 8:4 NOW that I am "IN" Christ the requirement of the Law is "FULLY"(not partly) met in us. What could be clearer than that?
GAL5:18 "If u are led by the Spirit u are not under the Law
Gal 3:24 Therefore the law was our schoolmaster to bring us to Christ, that we might be justified by faith. 3:25 But after faith has come, we are no longer under a schoolmaster
@game11221 ..I'm not disputing that my friend...what you say is true..The law leads us to christ!! and by faith you're no longer under the condemnation of the law...that is what adventism is all about..but I must confess that some adventists hold onto the merits of works..that is why we are looked as legalists!
@jethro3232 .The.law points out sin..that is how sin is known..that is why it is said the power of sin is the law..
The sting of death in sin..of course..because" the wages of sin is death"..what so funny about that..I guess you thought that the power of sin is the law..means that the law was done away with as Christ hath died for our sins..wrong again!..sin is the transgression of the law my friend..and death is the result!
@uph Romans7:3 It is adultery if 1 joins with another wife (NC) while alive to the other wife (OC
7:4 We are dead to the law (OC) IN Christ so that we can belong to another (Being the New Cov
7:5 The Law (OC) aroused sinful passions and brought death. 7:6 We have been delivered from the Law (OC) Are now dead to what held us(OC) So that we can serve in the Newness of the Spirit (NC
R10:4"CHRIST IS THE END OF THE LAW SO THAT THERE MAY BE RIGHTEOUSNESS FOREVERONE THAT BELIEVES
@game11221 ..I think we're saying the same thing..just going through the posts I believe we are of the same understanding with regards to righteousness by faith..I am not a legalist because I don't believe in righteousness by works..what I don't believe is that the law was abolished..I guess proponents of the abolishment of the law do that because of the sabbath and secondly the problem of legalism( which is sin)
@jethro3232 No God does not make mistakes my friend...humans like you make mistakes...prophets are humans as well...they're not God!..humans were inspired to write!...you can be inspired by the holy spirit to do something.., but that does not make you perfect..sinlessness will abound when all shall be revealed at his coming!..so attacking EGW is the only way you try to settle.arguments..you failed completely in your scriptural knowledge!
EW will be alive when Jesus returns, England will attack the USA, Civil War is a sign Jesus is about 2 return, 1850's EW said Jesus will return in a few months, Adventists living in 1856 will be alive when Jesus returns, EW saw Enoch on Jupiter or Saturn
Added scripture
Satan offered a pardon in heaven, Angels would have died 4 man, Some races are a mixture of man & beast, Jesus died 4 angels, Takes 7 days 2 get 2 heaven, Angels have golden access cards
Its a shame you don't know anything........ the old is set aside we are in the new but I guess you would wrather drink from the old wine and try to patch up the old with the new ..... by all means go ahead .....
@jethro3232 Hi Im thankful I got out of the sda church, If I were still in I would be saying, Sunday law is hear & Christians are going to hunt us down & kill us. We have grace, if we keep the law to be righteous, we become sinless, the atonement is not finished, the cross was not activated until 1844. We live to the Old cov, but we tell the others we live to the New, We use world play of the IJ to make it seem right, we know its wrong, but EW promulgated it.
@game11221 An ex - adventist ...who did not understand salvation.."We have grace, if we keep the law to be righteous, we become sinless, the atonement is not finished, the cross was not activated until 1844"(your own words)..my friend you were never an adventist..because that is contrary to what SDAs believe
Go on your marry way and read hosea 11....... I WILL STOP ALL HER CELEBRATIONS: her yealy festivels her new moons her SABBATH DAYS - all her appointed festivels .... what is her appointed festivels .... levi 23 : 1-3.....
Just like jesus said in like 5:36- 39...... you cannot mix the new with the old ..... new covenant with the old covenant ..... new garment and old garment don't mix cause they will not match .... amen bro God bless .....
Transformed life doesnt justify a man, but comes as a result of being justified=sanctification Cant merit justification or work it by grace. If could then salvation would not be a gift of God Justification is by faith alone
Legalism manifest to cling to any doctrine that is above its place. If anything supersedes Christ to Christ is manifested in faith, hope & love, anymore then that it becomes heretical, it becomes legalistic. Obedience from the heart of love of Christ does not imply legalism
@up Never said law OC was abolished, its still in affect 2 the ones that reject the finished work of the cross. At Christ death, His blood ratified a NC
Ministers of NEW COV not of the letter but of the Spirit; the letter KILLS, but the Spirit gives life 3:7 But if the MINISTRY of death, written & engraved on STONES WAS (past tense) glorious so that children of Israel couldnt look steadily at the face of Moses bc of the glory of his countenance, which glory was PASSING AWAY
I'm starting to wonder if the sda church is the mark of the beast ...... changing gods laws ...... we r saved by grace through faith not by the works of the letter of the law but the spirit ..... he circumcised the heart not the flesh .... amen bro god belss ... and uphold we will see who falls flat ....
@game11221 ...dude you're wrong.! there was never an OT and a NT belief.."Jesus Christ is the same yesterday and today and forever" Heb 13:8...therefore there was never an old belief..John 5:39"You study the Scriptures diligently because you think that in them you have eternal life. These are the very Scriptures that testify about me,
..Jesus speaking when only the old testament was in existent!..that's your first mistake!
@game11221 John 21:25"And there are also many other things which Jesus did, the which, if they should be written every one, I suppose that even the world itself could not contain the books that should be written. Amen."..(study the Scriptures diligently because you think that in them you have eternal life very Scriptures that testify about me) ..my friend read the verse again..the scriptures testify of him..not only his coming the Jews were trying to prove!
@upholdingthetruth (many other things which Jesus did) true, but you misrepresented what Christ was saying, about scrip was talking about Him. The scrip testifies to Him, He is the savior, U seem to imply He was an example (as we 2 can be perfect like Him by our own merits) that our sin R forgive once we come in, but after that it is up 2 us.
@game11221 ..nah my friend. I never said that we are saved through our own merits..we are saved through Christ..who told you the SDA teaches salvation by works?..we believe in righteouness by faith..however it has to manifest so the world can see..Matt 5:14"You are the light of the world. A city on a hill cannot be hidden"..a lamp is only useful when it shines..Faith without works is dead!
@game11221...(who told you the SDA teaches salvation by works?)
EW as to the IJ. but I know the sda have watered it down..
The IJ had been greatly misunderstood..
Rev 2:12.."And, behold, I come quickly; and my reward is with me, to give every man according as his WORK shall be."
Matt 7:21"Not every one that saith unto me, Lord, Lord, shall enter into the kingdom of heaven; but he that doeth the WILL of my Father which is in heaven."
you can read vs 22,23 which I can't fit into this post..
@game11221 I guess what I'm trying to say..is that individuals are saved by true faith which manifests itself in good works..good works in itself does not save as you have said in your previous posts
@game11221 ..your 2nd mistake is that you think that "sin is an act(which is a OT belief old cov)"-your own words.. fails the test of scriptures. Sin always began in the thought long before creation..Isaiah 14:13-15 You said IN YOUR HEART,“I will ascend to the heavens; I will raise my throne above the stars of God;I will sit enthroned on the mount of assembly, on the utmost heights of Mount Zaphon. I will ascend above the tops of the clouds; I will make myself like the Most High..see next post
@u If ye love me, keep my commandments. He that hath my commandments & keepeth them, he it is that loveth me& he that loveth me shall be loved of my Father & I will love him How can u, If ye, keep my commandments, ye shall abide in my love; even as I have kept my Father's commandments & abide in his love Ye are my friends, if ye do whatsoever I command U Do what Jesus commands us, is not that enough? & shall we not be safe and sure of his love and the love of his Father
@game11221 Isaiah 14:13-15 is Satan's own doing..to say that sin was just an act in the OT..diminishes humanity to another level..people in those days had brains mind you!..so they had choices to make!..the problem is people like you may think that belief is based on a timeline ( OT and NT) but dude, christ transcends both..the whole scripture talks about him.John 5:39
@uphold Luke says he was taken up, "after that he through the Holy Ghost had given commandments unto the apostles whom he had chosen." Acts 1:2. 14:37
Problem with people like you, is your committing adultery, by attempting 2 hold to the OC & NC at the same time. This all stems from the 1844 IJ doctrine. A salvation by works yet claim grace. I know this is hard 4 you to understand, because of old testament proclaimers and not becoming New Cov Follower
Hell I guess 2 the sda the NC was not ratified until 1844
@game11221 ...John 13:34""A new command I give you: Love one another. AS I LOVE YOU (GRACE- unmerited favour), so you must love one another"...how did he do that? by dying on the cross.. the ten commandments is still the old and the new!..what has made it new is when GRACE abound..
Sin comes by the thought and the act.."by their fruits ye shall know them."
What is the cause of the act? You seem to think its the body.
If the OC is the new then the same fruit is there. There is nothing new at all, Changing its location does not make it new. DO YOU BELIEVE IN IMPUTED RIGHTEOUSNESS
@game11221 ..I will ask, are your sins blotted out?
Can you utter the words, I am saved?
Have you made it through the IJ?
Question 1 and 2 can be easily answered
Question 3 which I gather you don't believe can be answered as well 1 John 2:1"My dear children, I write this to you so that you will not sin. But if anybody does sin, we have one who speaks to the Father in our defense--Jesus Christ, the Righteous One."
..he is our defence so why should I worry..dude you need a defender in a judgement
there is no way some one with the education of a 3rd grader can right over 100 books and with the vocabulary she used. the isnot even one thing in her books that is not in line with the bible.
oh my. Im SDA and i hear what he is saying. alot of what he was saying was wrong. when the bible say" ...the mark in the right hand and in the forehead" it means if you except sunday sabbath(aka the marke of the beast) in you MIND or on the out side, you have excepted the marke of the beast. and E.White is not in hell nor heaven. she is asleep right now like all the other dead people. and she whould not even go to hell. every thing she say is not of her. it is of God.
@zeruiahashe Ok, you claim that everything Ellen White said is of God. Now get hold of a green cord and do what she did in order to see Jesus & see what happens: "He (my angel guide) handed me a green cord coiled up closely. This he directed me to place next my heart, and when I wished to see Jesus, take from my bosom and stretch it to the utmost. He cautioned me not to let it remain coiled for any length of time, lest it should become knotted and difficult to straighten."(Early Writings p 81)
@zeruiahashe Can you give a Bible verse to prove that using a green cord is one of the ways to see Jesus?
She also wrote, "Let those who are presenting theories as to whether the earth is round or flat, leave this question, for God has not given it to them to solve ...'" (Manuscript Releases Vol 21, page 419). It looks like you're smarter than the prophetess since you know that the earth is round whereas she, having visited heaven & other planets in her visions, had no idea.
@mrdesmonddesmond that is what God commanded her. God also commanded ezekiel to mix poop with his bread for a given time. and the thing about the world being flat or not. she is not saying the world id flat or not she is getting to the point that there are questions that are not for you to ask because not knowing it will not keep you out of heaven. and you have to remember the time she wrought this. they did not have the tools we have now to see that this world is round.
@zeruiahashe but im just want to know. do you think we worship this woman? she is a human like you and me. but she is a prophet like the other people who wrought the bible. they were all inspired bye God.
@zeruiahashe As you believe that all of Ellen White's books line up with the Bible, do you agree with what she said that Hebrews 4:9 refers to the seventh-day Sabbath which must still be observed every week?
@zeruiahashe "Yes i do" - that's what you said. Obviously you haven't read Ellen White's full commentary on Hebrews 4:9 in which she didn't claim that the verse refers to the seventh-day Sabbath. I was just testing you to see whether you had actually read that particular commentary. And so obviously you haven't read all her writings - therefore you were not telling the truth when you claimed that all her books line up with the Bible.
@mrdesmonddesmond but it dose talk about 7th day sabbath. im thinking that your talking about hebrews 4:9. and im am telling the truth that her books line up with the bible. and you see. when i say her books line up with the bible im saying that her books are not out side the bible. meaning that she did not make them up. i did not read every last book you know. there are like over 118 of them and im only 14. and im doing all the reshurch i can on all of her writings. i read what i find. and see
@zeruiahashe Do read all her books and compare them with the Bible. I came across this quote posted by another Youtube user & wish to share it with you - “Error, indeed is never set forth in its naked deformity, lest, being thus exposed, it should at once be detected. But it is craftily decked out in an attractive dress, so as, by its outward form, to make it appear to the inexperienced more true than truth itself."
And when did I say that I think that your church is a cult?
@mrdesmonddesmond i dont rely under stand fully what the youtuber said. can you give me a link so i can get more d-tails on the matter. and sorr.. i thought you did like the other people who commented on this. and i try to read as many as a can. and all that i do read i line it up with what the bible says.
@zeruiahashe As far as I can recall, the quote was given as a comment some time ago under this video & I copied it down at that time but it will be quite a tedious task to scroll through all the comment pages to find it.
Regarding Ellen White, please Google for "1919 Bible Conference Minutes Concerning Ellen G. White - Introduction" to read that even SDA church leaders back then in 1919 were of the opinion that Ellen White's divine inspiration is questionable.
@mrdesmonddesmond and they are still doing that same thing in some SDA churches. and did the Jews not do the same with jesus and all the other prophets(not saying jesus is a prophet)? so what if SDA leaders thought he teachings where Questionable. the fact still stands that you still cant proof to me that any of her writings are wrong. And the jewish leaders thought jesus being God's son was questionable, does that mean that jesus is not Gods son?
@zeruiahashe It's best that you read "1919 Bible Conference Minutes Concerning Ellen G. White-Introduction" as the participants of the meeting included the top guy,the President of the SDA General Conference,& they concluded that her divine inspiration is questionable but they decided to lock up the minutes of the meeting in a vault which were only discovered in 1974.Ordinary members have been hoodwinked all along so that they would continue to support the top guns with their tithes & offerings.
@zeruiahashe Are you really certain that "the fact still stands that you still cant proof to me that any of her writings are wrong"? For example, Ellen White wrote that Satan is the scapegoat and so, please give me a Bible verse which states that Satan is really the scapegoat.
@zeruiahashe .@mrdesmonddesmond's prime target is to attack EGW because of idea that her writings are inerrant...let alone their deficient understanding of how inspiration works. I am sure he is an ex-adventist as his name suggests..however her legacy lives on given the many things the SDA church has achieved through her counsel..people leave the church for many reasons..however they faulter in the very reasons they leave the church.!
@mrdesmonddesmond if they rely line up with what the bible. and there is not a thing she wrought that is proof that she is not a prophet or that she is lieing. can you plz show me one thing that she wrought that you can proof that is wrong or that makes SDA a cult. and why will you not tell me why you think we are a cult?!?!?!
@mrdesmonddesmond and plz tell me what makes you think we are a cult? we are christians and we beleave the bible. ellen. g. white just points out stuff in the bible. if you read her books then line it up with the bible then your golden
Distinguish from root & fruit Root of Christian is faith in Christ, trusting in Christ everything comes from that. Fruit is always obedience, but obedience is not perfect, because we are not, pray 4 forgiveness, many things we offend, not willing we all stumble
We serve in the new way of the Spirit & not in the old way of the written code
Congratulations! putting yourself under the Old Cov of LAW
Which was to lead us TO Christ & UNTIL Christ, we are no longer UNDER the
@jethro3232..always quote the bible in full..Matt 28-29 ..28 “Come to me, all you WHO ARE WEARY AND BURDENED, and I will give you rest. 29 Take my yoke upon you and LEARN from me, for I am gentle and humble in heart, and you will find rest for your souls...dude Jesus wants you to learn from him..that means he wants to teach you something..."If you love me keep my commandments...then you will find true rest for your soul!!
The law shows you your sins and must must die to the law and resurrect in the spirit...romans 7:1-6..we serve in a new way of spirit ..... not the old way written code ... now we r n spirit...romans 8:1-2.law of spirit gives life.we serve the law of the spirit...free from (law of sin) and death. ( law of sin is the law that shows u ur sins ).. galations 3:23-28.law was our guardian until christ, now christ is here we r no longer under the guardian.....
@jethro3232 How can a law people say is no longer around show us our sins?? Folks keep saying Dead or Die To The Law. Who's dead here? Us or the law? Christ redeemed us from THE LAW'S CURSE not THE LAW. We are dead in Christ and when THE LAW sees us now THE LAW sees a DEAD MAN(by the Blood) In the eyes of the law "WE" are dead. DEAD TO THE LAW. Results: the law is satisfied. → Does the law still minister a curse? Look at the list who'll not make heaven, all lawbreakers. Romans 2v13
@CoveBulldawgs I guess that the list of those who'll not make it to heaven doesn't include Sabbath-breakers unless a specific Bible verse in the New Testament says so.
@upholdingthetruth I guess Paul didn't keep the Sabbath regularly because he said in 1 Corinthians:11:19-22 "... to the Jews I became as a Jew, that I might win Jews; to those who are under the law, as under the law, that I might win those who are under the law; to those who are without the law as without law ... I have become all things to all men ..."
@mrdesmonddesmond@mrdesmonddesmond dude you quoted the wrong text..1 Corinthians 11:19-22 DOES NOT READ THAT WAY! however read this "1 Corinthians 11:1 "Follow my example, as I follow the example of Christ."..how could Paul break the Sabbath when he followed the example of Christ..don't be mistaken my friend..the bible does not contradict itself!
@upholdingthetruth I apologize for having referred to the wrong Bible verses which should be 1 Corinthians 9:19-23. Concerning 1 Corinthians 11:1, this verse actually refers to what was disccused in the previous chapter.
Since you follow Christ's example, I guess you attend Sabbath service at a Jewish synagogue, preach the gospel to the poor, heal the brokenhearted, preach deliverance to the captives, & preach the acceptable year of the Lord just like He did -- right?
@mrdesmonddesmond "attend Sabbath service at a Jewish synagogue" LOL, a synagogue's human invention, like our churches. It's just a venue. The point isn't "synagogue", but "where God's people gather".
@mrdesmonddesmond no dude..to follow christ's example is exemplify his character and carry out his commission..regardless of whether you're attending a synagogue or a church building..and for sure we need to preach the gospel to the poor, heal the broken hearted and preach deliverance to the captives..see my next post
@upholdingthetruth I guess that the great commission also includes preaching that the heavenly Day of Atonement began in 1844 when Jesus entered the most holy place in the heavenly sanctuary to conduct the Investigative Judgment which is still on-going as He hasn't come out of it yet - right? Lev 23:28 states:"And ye shall do no work in that same day;for it is a day of atonement." Since the heavenly Day of Atoment hasn't ended, are you not committing a sin by not resting every day of the week?
@mrdesmonddesmond ..my friend don't mix the day of atonement with the weekly sabbath..they are not the same..try to make sense of the bible! The sanctuary services
were are shadow of Christ's ministry..ceremonial or ritualistic..never a commandment
To apply the no work policy on the day of atonement today..is foolish! to say the least..Christ has already come..there is no need for any sanctuary services on earth!
@upholdingthetruth You said that the day of atonement & the weekly sabbath are not the same. But I think that the weekly sabbath-keeping was also a ceremonial law as Numbers 28:9-10 point out that sacrifices must also be made (apart from resting) on that day in order to observe it. Morever, the day of atonement, just like the weekly Sabbath-keeping & other feast days listed in Leviticus 23, is a lasting ordinance. So why aren't you keeping the day of atonement since it's a lasting ordinance?
@upholdingthetruth If trangression of the day of atonement was never a sin, then why did Leviticus 23:29 - 32 say, " Anyone who does not deny himself on that day must be cut off from his people. I will destroy from among his people anyone who does any work on that day. You shall do no work at all. This is to be a lasting ordinance for the generations to come, wherever you live. It is a sabbath of rest for you, and you must deny yourselves"?
@upholdingthetruth What's the difference between ceremonial sabbaths & the weekly sabbath as all of them are lasting ordinances (see Leviticus Chapter 23)? Malachi 4:4 says, "Remember ye the law of Moses..."
@mrdesmonddesmond ..Matt 25:34-36"34 “Then the King will say to those on his right, ‘Come, you who are blessed by my Father; take your inheritance, the kingdom prepared for you since the creation of the world. 35 For I was hungry and you gave me something to eat, I was thirsty and you gave me something to drink, I was a stranger and you invited me in, 36 I needed clothes and you clothed me, I was sick and you looked after me, I was in prison and you came to visit me.’..this is his commission!
@mrdesmonddesmond - IDOLATRY - Dan 3v5&6 .. fall down and WORSHIP THE GOLDEN IMAGE that Nebuchadnezzar the king hath set up: And whoso falleth not down and worshippeth shall the same hour be cast into the midst of a burning fiery furnace. (DEATH SENTENCE) - AFTER A WORLDWIDE SUNDAY LAW - Rev 14v15 and cause that as many as would not WORSHIP THE IMAGE OF THE BEAST(idolatry) should be killed. (DEATH SENTENCE)
@mrdesmonddesmond - Not for you, .. just a general answer to your reply. I can't determine accountability on this side of THE BEASTS SUNDAY LAW
Is there a strict worldwide Sunday law today? - "it is not until the issue is thus plainly set before the people, and they are brought to choose(by force) between the commandments of God and the commandments of men, that those who continue in transgression will receive “the mark of the beast.” - she says it better than i
@jethro3232..your problem is you think that the 10 commandments has become the 9 commandments..you try so hard to eliminate the Sabbath from the commandments..yet the scriptures has disproved your theology...to put it plainly to you..we are free from the condemnation of the law!.. christ had freed us from that condemnation by dying on the cross..he has carried our sins..
If he abolished or changed his law..then he did not have to die..but he had to, because his law
@jethro3232..you just said that the law shows you sin..and sin is the transgression of the law...
however when you receive Christ in your life..you will do his will and the law cannot condemn you.."If you love me keep my commandments"Matt 14:15..
John 15:10"If you keep My commandments, you will abide in My love; just as I have kept My Father's commandments and abide in His love."...and that includes his Sabbath!!
The law shows you that you need christ ....... I know what I posted ........ we are not afraid of the sabbath but the scriptures states that he freed us from the law and bound to christ so we are no longer under the law but christ ........ galations 4:21-31 states we need to chase the free women not the slave women ...... the slave women represents mt sinai and what was giving at mt sinai ? The 10c ......... If we put our trust in christ we are free from the law ........
@jethro3232 You said "The law shows you that you need christ" -- You can't say that if the law is obsolete. How do you know what the law has to show if it's not around.
How did you come to know sin Paul? Romans 7v7 "I had not known sin, but by the law: for I had not known lust, except the law had said, Thou shalt not covet" 1 John 3v4 Whosoever committeth sin transgresseth also the law: for SIN IS THE TRANSGRESSION OF THE LAW. 1 John 1v9 If we confess our sins, (TRANSGRESSIONS OF THE LAW) he is faithful and just to forgive us our sins, (TRANSGRESSIONS OF THE LAW) and to cleanse us from ALLLLLL unrighteousness. → Think not that I am come to destroy the law
this proves SDA's are a cult?

@jethro3232 Ya I know what you mean, there biggest problem is the 1844 IJ sanctuary doctrine. It tears down the deity of Christ.
Some hold to the OC of law but fail to except the NC.
They still think sin is a act (witch is a OT belief old cov) they do not realize sin is a attitude (whats in the heart the body will follow)
So they R really old testament believers and not New Testament followers.

@upholdingthetruth (many other things which Jesus did) true, but you misrepresented what Christ was saying, about scrip was talking about Him. upholdingthetruth 3 days ago
@upholdingthetruth So you think, sin is of a act! that the body is apart from the heart. so then the body acts on it's own.
But the opposite is true, whats in the heart the body will follow! We do nothing that is not in our heart.
If the same OC law is as the NC then the same fruit would come out of it. witch is death.
The New is the fulfillment of the old, this is not a time line. for even the old speaks of a new to come.

@uphold Luke says he was taken up, "after that he through the Holy Ghost had given commandments unto the apostles whom he had chosen." Acts 1:2. 14:37

@uph I will ask, are your sins blotted out?
Can you utter the words, I am saved?
Have you made it through the IJ?

But if anybody does sin, we have one who speaks to the Father in our defense--Jesus Christ, the Righteous One."
..he is our defence so why should I worry..dude you need a defender in a judgement

oh my. Im SDA and i hear what he is saying. alot of what he was saying was wrong. when the bible say" ...the mark in the right hand and in the forehead" it means if you except sunday sabbath(aka the marke of the beast) in you MIND or on the out side, you have excepted the marke of the beast. and E.White is not in hell nor heaven. she is asleep right now like all the other dead people. and she whould not even go to hell. every thing she say is not of her. it is of God.
zeruiahashe 4 days ago
@zeruiahashe Ok, you claim that everything Ellen White said is of God. Now get hold of a green cord and do what she did in order to see Jesus & see what happens: "He (my angel guide) handed me a green cord coiled up closely. This he directed me to place next my heart, and when I wished to see Jesus, take from my bosom and stretch it to the utmost. He cautioned me not to let it remain coiled for any length of time, lest it should become knotted and difficult to straighten."(Early Writings p 81)
mrdesmonddesmond 4 days ago
@mrdesmonddesmond she is not saying to do what she did. she is saying that that is what God told HER to do at that given time.
zeruiahashe 4 days ago
@zeruiahashe Can you give a Bible verse to prove that using a green cord is one of the ways to see Jesus?
She also wrote, "Let those who are presenting theories as to whether the earth is round or flat, leave this question, for God has not given it to them to solve ...'" (Manuscript Releases Vol 21, page 419). It looks like you're smarter than the prophetess since you know that the earth is round whereas she, having visited heaven & other planets in her visions, had no idea.
mrdesmonddesmond 4 days ago
@mrdesmonddesmond that is what God commanded her. God also commanded ezekiel to mix poop with his bread for a given time. and the thing about the world being flat or not. she is not saying the world id flat or not she is getting to the point that there are questions that are not for you to ask because not knowing it will not keep you out of heaven. and you have to remember the time she wrought this. they did not have the tools we have now to see that this world is round.

@zeruiahashe As you believe that all of Ellen White's books line up with the Bible, do you agree with what she said that Hebrews 4:9 refers to the seventh-day Sabbath which must still be observed every week?
mrdesmonddesmond 4 days ago
@mrdesmonddesmond yes i do. read exodus 20:8-11, read hebrews 4:7-11. it may make more seens to you.
zeruiahashe 4 days ago
@zeruiahashe "Yes i do" - that's what you said. Obviously you haven't read Ellen White's full commentary on Hebrews 4:9 in which she didn't claim that the verse refers to the seventh-day Sabbath. I was just testing you to see whether you had actually read that particular commentary. And so obviously you haven't read all her writings - therefore you were not telling the truth when you claimed that all her books line up with the Bible.
mrdesmonddesmond 4 days ago

Regarding Ellen White, please Google for "1919 Bible Conference Minutes Concerning Ellen G. White - Introduction" to read that even SDA church leaders back then in 1919 were of the opinion that Ellen White's divine inspiration is questionable.
mrdesmonddesmond 3 days ago
@mrdesmonddesmond and they are still doing that same thing in some SDA churches. and did the Jews not do the same with jesus and all the other prophets(not saying jesus is a prophet)? so what if SDA leaders thought he teachings where Questionable. the fact still stands that you still cant proof to me that any of her writings are wrong. And the jewish leaders thought jesus being God's son was questionable, does that mean that jesus is not Gods son?
zeruiahashe 3 days ago
@zeruiahashe It's best that you read "1919 Bible Conference Minutes Concerning Ellen G. White-Introduction" as the participants of the meeting included the top guy,the President of the SDA General Conference,& they concluded that her divine inspiration is questionable but they decided to lock up the minutes of the meeting in a vault which were only discovered in 1974.Ordinary members have been hoodwinked all along so that they would continue to support the top guns with their tithes & offerings.
mrdesmonddesmond 3 days ago
@zeruiahashe Are you really certain that "the fact still stands that you still cant proof to me that any of her writings are wrong"? For example, Ellen White wrote that Satan is the scapegoat and so, please give me a Bible verse which states that Satan is really the scapegoat.

@zeruiahashe .@mrdesmonddesmond's prime target is to attack EGW because of idea that her writings are inerrant...let alone their deficient understanding of how inspiration works.

Sabbath keepers who try and earn their way through their works..should forget getting to heaven..
Sabbath breakers who knowingly break the commandments..should also forget about heaven..

upholdingthetruth 3 days ago
@upholdingthetruth I guess Paul didn't keep the Sabbath regularly because he said in 1 Corinthians:11:19-22 "... to the Jews I became as a Jew, that I might win Jews; to those who are under the law, as under the law, that I might win those who are under the law; to those who are without the law as without law ... I have become all things to all men ..."

@mrdesmonddesmond @mrdesmonddesmond dude you quoted the wrong text..1 Corinthians 11:19-22 DOES NOT READ THAT WAY! however read this "1 Corinthians 11:1 "Follow my example, as I follow the example of Christ."..how could Paul break the Sabbath when he followed the example of Christ..don't be mistaken my friend..the bible does not contradict itself!
upholdingthetruth 3 days ago
@upholdingthetruth I apologize for having referred to the wrong Bible verses which should be 1 Corinthians 9:19-23. Concerning 1 Corinthians 11:1, this verse actually refers to what was disccused in the previous chapter.
Since you follow Christ's example, I guess you attend Sabbath service at a Jewish synagogue, preach the gospel to the poor, heal the brokenhearted, preach deliverance to the captives, & preach the acceptable year of the Lord just like He did -- right?

@upholdingthetruth I guess that the great commission also includes preaching that the heavenly Day of Atonement began in 1844 when Jesus entered the most holy place in the heavenly sanctuary to conduct the Investigative Judgment which is still on-going as He hasn't come out of it yet - right? Lev 23:28 states:"And ye shall do no work in that same day;for it is a day of atonement." Since the heavenly Day of Atoment hasn't ended, are you not committing a sin by not resting every day of the week?
mrdesmonddesmond 2 days ago
@mrdesmonddesmond ..my friend don't mix the day of atonement with the weekly sabbath..they are not the same..try to make sense of the bible! The sanctuary services
were are shadow of Christ's ministry..ceremonial or ritualistic..never a commandment
To apply the no work policy on the day of atonement today..is foolish! to say the least..Christ has already come..there is no need for any sanctuary services on earth!
upholdingthetruth 2 days ago
@upholdingthetruth You said that the day of atonement & the weekly sabbath are not the same. But I think that the weekly sabbath-keeping was also a ceremonial law as Numbers 28:9-10 point out that sacrifices must also be made (apart from resting) on that day in order to observe it. Morever, the day of atonement, just like the weekly Sabbath-keeping & other feast days listed in Leviticus 23, is a lasting ordinance. So why aren't you keeping the day of atonement since it's a lasting ordinance?
mrdesmonddesmond 2 days ago
@mrdesmonddesmond..(Since the heavenly Day of Atoment hasn't ended, are you not committing a sin by not resting every day of the week?)
..sin is the transgression of the law (10 commandments)..sin was never the transgression
of the day of atonement..
upholdingthetruth 2 days ago
@upholdingthetruth If trangression of the day of atonement was never a sin, then why did Leviticus 23:29 - 32 say, " Anyone who does not deny himself on that day must be cut off from his people. I will destroy from among his people anyone who does any work on that day. You shall do no work at all. This is to be a lasting ordinance for the generations to come, wherever you live. It is a sabbath of rest for you, and you must deny yourselves"?

"Sin is the transgression of the law" and the "wages of sin is death"

because he has become sin for us!! Simple
upholdingthetruth 5 days ago
@jethro3232..your problem is you think that the 10 commandments has become the 9 commandments..you try so hard to eliminate the Sabbath from the commandments..yet the scriptures has disproved your theology...to put it plainly to you..we are free from the condemnation of the law!.. christ had freed us from that condemnation by dying on the cross..he has carried our sins..
If he abolished or changed his law..then he did not have to die..but he had to, because his law
still stood
