  • If I could cry this would be the song that does it.

  • It feels 200 years old, but its barely eleven, majestic Cassidy.

  • Beautiful, I listened to it so much that I can understand everything in it, Always trying to figure out a way to incorporate this into a dance or hiphop track, it seems impossible but just the other day I was playing random guitar chords and had the first few notes of vide cor meum, anyways <3 it

  • im still listening to this in 2012..

  • I absolutely fell into this song when I first heard it, as with many, on Hannibal. I've heard few songs that have so carried my soul as this one and since learning of this gentleman, I've never been left wanting by any of his ambrosial compositions. Here is a man who shall, indeed, by virtue of his talents, have something akin to immortality.

  • IMHO the most incredible song the west have ever created !

  • Really like it

  • thanks for sharing the info and especially letting us on the lyrics as well. so meaningful... beautiful piece by Cassidy & Zimmer! awesome composers! love their music! =D

  • A new Ennio Morricone

  • I didn't like opera at all until I heard this song, I fell in love with this song, we had it at our wedding and I can't stop listening to it!!!

  • so beautiful, thank you for uploading

  • Only one word springs to mind when I listen to this piece - celestial

  • Beautiful piece!!!

  • but what if you have sex WHILE listening to this...that my dear friend is HEAVEN

  • @SOUTHPARKFOREVER240

I wouldn't want to sully such a transcendental experience by engaging in such a carnal, animalistic act.

  • The more time you spend in the dark, the more alive you'll feel when you step into the sun; in this, the sun everyday can be its own eclipse.

The true value of our possessions is in the time we spend not possessing them...thats just f#%%ing retarded...and very Emo at that ... I blocked you TROLL !

  • Art borrows from other art. If it is great, as this is, let it be so. There are no original ideas; we borrow - for better or for worse. Don't you think?

  • @mcjtalegault All true art is an original compilation of unoriginal ideas and techniques.

  • any classical composer would be envious, first I thought that was a famous opera aria

    more than beautiful

and guess what my favourite band is

    RAMMSTEIN :)))

  • For sure it have to stop somewhere. In my opinion the copyrights stops, when you use some chords of one song and do some totaly independent song in which the used chords are more or less a side element. Don't you think?

  • even earlier... Ridley Scott used it for the movie Hannibal, too. ;-)

  • @Replikant1710 You're absolutely correct and it's a blues chord progression too with key-change. I'm linking it

into some Led-Zeppelin threads where they claim the old blues artists are getting ripped-off. The question is how far back does copyright go ? One could claim that the old blues greats stole from whomever composed this because they're using the same chord progressions ! This shit's gotta stop somewhere ! lol

  • Pure emotion, it reaches parts most music cannot reach

  • Que bella sinfonia...

  • So sad...

  • AMAZING!

  • That picture's making me think of Daniel Day-Lewis

  • this is better than sex

  • @pascalwify - well almost ;)

  • @pascalwify

    Lol. I almost agree.

  • @pascalwify Said the virgin ;-) lol jk I almost agree.

  • @pascalwify fuck you must be doing it wrong !, its a fantastic piece of music tho

  • My marching band is playing it as our third movement! :) We have amazing oboe solos at the beginning and end. This song is beautiful (:

  • The phone calls where long, and every night I would steer upon the moon singing your song. But my song was not heard upon the sky, there was something wrong and my heart wouldnt tell me why. Maby because my heart wouldnt make this happiness a lie, and when I asked you wouldnt reply. Even though i knew the whole time, that i was yours but you were'nt mine. I hope this is not the last rhyme, because I got no job no dime. Please mend my heart, and say your mine...
  • Amazing

  • beniyer, I can recommend the Children of Lir..........the Irish story of the children of King Lir, changed into swans by the magic of Aoife, the queen he married after the death of their mother..............some of the tracks are uploaded in youtube

  • I asked cleverbot his favorite song an he sent me here.

  • An incredible piece of music, the poetry from Dante as well as the musical accompaniment drives the emotions home. It has been used in several movies, I believe that it captures what needs to be said in Hannibal and Kingdom of Heaven. A soothing song that voices powerful emotion.

  • It's too bad that they'd choose this beautiful piece of music for a disturbing movie like Hannibal . That's what people then remembers , like Jpx7x above ...

  • @redsilver87 Hannibal's epicurean indulgences are mirrored in this piece. That his feral alter ego is almost an aside in the face of his elegance and rarified taste, heightens.the scent of evil..

  • eat my brain

  • absolute bliss!!! anyone who can recommend other golden works of Cassidy?

  • Ready when you are sergeant pembry

  • This makes that movie somewhat memorable. Unbelievable piece of music.

  • magnifique, c'est la musique du reve...

  • My Marching Band is using this as our second movement, it is as much a joy to play as it is to listen too..

  • Unbelievably beautiful.

  • Sublime.

  • Is it weird that I'm 14 and I'm in love with this song? holy sitzpinkler!

  • @abarrellofmonkeys No, it's not. How many more attention whores will type this..

  • @abarrellofmonkeys Shut up loser

  • Another Genius that brings us the peace to our souls through our language with God, the music...

  • @Plinio4561 I don't think that was the inspiration of this wonderful composition. You're right though in saying Cassidy is a genius.

  • @TheShawnmcd

It was written for the movie Hannibal

  • @justmyopinion84 nice... but I'm wondering if you really knows latin... because this piece of music don't talk about any god or avatar... talk about love of two human beings, made of bones and flesh... nothing more...

  • Comment removed

  • @justmyopinion84 You're right. I´m trying to do my best, english is no my native language, I only use it for reading user's manuals and drop some opinion here time to time... Sorry, maybe I might behave rudely... a bad day, I guess.

  • Hey, what's up with "ephysdads" heavy comment above? Was there a like a "Vide Cor Meum conflagration" around here? I mean why are we talking about the "brutality and narcism"? Oh. Oh. I think I see. It's me isn't it? It's about my name. You're making disparaging remarks about my name. I see. I'm distasteful to you, I'm impure. Well let me tell you something. I just wish, just once, that you could all walk a mile in my shoes. Help me! Dear God please help me endure this brutality!
