Petit was a dirtbag. He popped Walker when Scott had his arms held by another player. That's pretty gutless.

One of my favorite clips. This happened in '97 or '98, and it was Norm Maciver (#44) that held Walker's arms behind him. Petit got at least 3 or 4 punches in on him while Walker was defenseless, and the entire Canuck team wanted to get at him because of ths. It carried over into the next game as well.

i never saw this game but iwas at the game after this in phoenix when both teams brought up every minor leaguer that wanted 2 fight... ...not much skilled hockey, but who cared!!lots of throw back, slap shot, type hockey.

The commentator is an idiot...I don't know if walker is going off cause he's hurt or what...he's bleeding you numb nuts. What you don't see is a phoenix player holding Walker's arms while Petit punches him...what a bunch of idiots...thanks for the video though...

Absolutely. I was actually at this game. I never did see a replay that showed it really well. But everyone in the rink saw it. I can't remember who it was, but someone had both of Walkers arms behind his back for a few seconds while Petit speed bagged his face.

I was very sad when the Canucks lost Walker. This game was played the same season that Walker was the only Canuck that showed up for every game and worked his ass off. Half the time, he was the only Canuck working at all.
